The hotel is gorgeous!! Breakfast spread was alright; nothing too special but the architecture of the space was very lovely. The live classical music was an added bonus.
We had issues with the shower and after two attempts to fix it, we were moved to another room. We appreciated the gesture.
The weather was extremely hot and it was very unpleasant to be out but we were able to walk down to the port in 20 mins, so the location was great.
We tried to get in a spa treatment but it was fully booked, we should've pre-booked before arriving!
All in all, a lovely few days.

Convenient hotel, very reasonable price, not far from the main station of Line 2 subway station, it should be within five minutes on foot, there is a prima supermarket behind, convenient for replenishment. There are no food stores nearby. But if you are willing to take a subway stop, there is also a bustling commercial district.
It is about ten to fifteen minutes' walk from Fisherman's Bastion, which is also acceptable. Recommended for consideration

Great central location and friendly staff, however, the hotel or surrounding buildings were undergoing some renovation and there was an incessant low humming every night that made it quite difficult to sleep. Breakfast buffet was standard, there were limited choices of pastries and yogurts.

Check in was smooth and friendly. Room 310 was fine on appearance. But later we discovered a problem with the air conditioning reverting back to a temperature of 26. We contacted the front desk staff who came to the room. He said it appeared to be working properly so there was nothing to be done. Shower didn’t have an enclosed door, so parts of the bathroom were flooded.
Breakfast had a variety of options. We particularly liked the fresh juice station. There was also a nice backyard-like part of the restaurant that was peaceful to have breakfast in.
We had a repairman look at the air conditioning, but he claimed the problem was that we didn’t know how to work the key holder electricity slot, like this was rocket science technology never-before-seen in an hotel. A chance encounter with the hotel manager eventually led to us changing rooms. Room 112 was much better, smelled fresh and air conditioning worked properly. We paid almost 1500 rmb a night (and no complimentary water in the room) because of Coldplay concerts so value wasn’t great for what we received. Wouldn’t stay again despite liking the local neighborhood vibe to the hotel.

Really like the triangle! ! ! I lived three times before and after. The first time I just arrived in Budapest. When I checked in, I found that the passport could not be found. I asked the front desk staff to contact the driver according to the information of the taxi ticket and retrieve the passport that fell on the taxi. The second time was back to Budapest from other cities, and the third time was the day before leaving Budapest. In addition to the friendly staff, the room was very hygienic and the facilities were all available. The most brilliant was breakfast! I would like to call it the breakfast ceiling in Budapest! It's not very embarrassing to shoot at the dining table and take some of your own plates. A family of three traveled and the room was very spacious.

How to say it? Ctrip seems to say it's 4 stars, but it's actually 3 stars. It's an old building in the city center, and the facilities are decent for the price. There are kettles and tea bags, which other hotels don't have. The biggest advantage is that it's very close to the airport bus

Amazing
GGuest UserVery friendly and helpful staff. They offered us a complimentary upgrade. Great facilities at the hotel, including billiard and gym room for free. The room was spacious, the bathroom was gigantic. The toiletries they offered are from penhaligons. The breakfast was fantastic with a great variety of choices. A very exceptional experience. Will definitely come back.
AAnonymous UserCarlton Hotel Buda Castle - A Location Lover's Dream!
My recent stay at the Carlton Hotel Buda Castle in Budapest was largely defined by its absolutely awesome location. For anyone looking to immerse themselves in the historical heart of the city, this hotel is a fantastic choice.
Being just minutes away from both the majestic Buda Castle and the picturesque Fisherman’s Bastion was a huge plus. I particularly appreciated the convenience for early risers – those who wish to view the stunning sunrise and enjoy the area before the crowds arrive (potentially with free entrance before official opening hours) will find this hotel incredibly convenient, as it's just a short stroll away.
Furthermore, the hotel's location also allows for a pleasant walk to the viewing area across the river from the Parliament building. Seeing the illuminated Parliament at night from the opposite bank was a memorable experience, and it was easily accessible on foot from the hotel.
The room itself was cozy and comfortable, providing a welcome retreat after a day of exploring. The bed was comfortable, and the room had everything I needed for a pleasant stay.
However, there was one notable downside: the soundproofing could be improved. I occasionally heard noise from neighboring rooms and the hallway, which sometimes disrupted the otherwise peaceful atmosphere.
Overall:
Despite the minor issue with soundproofing, I would still highly recommend the Carlton Hotel Buda Castle, especially for travelers who prioritize location above all else. Its proximity to key attractions like Buda Castle and Fisherman’s Bastion, along with the easy access to sunrise views and the Parliament panorama, makes it a truly convenient base for exploring the best of Buda. If you're a light sleeper, bringing earplugs might be a good idea, but the unbeatable location truly makes this hotel a strong contender for your Budapest stay.
TTheOnlyBugsI am a very picky traveller that has travelled the globe, so read this review accordingly.
Based on the shower base, I would not say this location is 5 stars. The shower is a place for you be get cleaned and the dirt to go down the drain. The shower base in my room was not properly leveled, making it difficult for the cleaning staff to clean all the dirt away from the edges along the wall. Before I enter the shower at any hotel I first spray around the edges to see how the water flows and see if they is dirt from the previous person stuck in the corners. In this room there was a lot of dirt that was not cleaned due to the floor being perfectly level in some areas and tilted towards the wall instead of the drain.
For a 5* rated hotel, I expected a much better breakfast selection. It was better than hotels that include breakfast, but for 5* rated hotel and paying €20, I expected much better. My whites eggs had egg shells in it. She say the main chef was in a bad mood and slamming his cookware. For an open concept kitchen, the staff should be smiling and aware others can see them.
The main waiter was awesome. Always had a smile and asking if he could held. The bellman was awesome, the front desk staff was very welcoming.
I would stay here again if the price was cheaper and if I could check the shower before accepting a particular room.
WWarlie Zambales DiazHotel President Budapest exceeded all my expectations! The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas was impeccable, making for a truly comfortable and relaxing stay. The breakfast selection was outstanding, offering a wide variety of options that catered to all tastes, and everything I tried was delicious and fresh. The hospitality of the staff was exceptional—they were incredibly warm, accommodating, and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was perfect.
The hotel’s location is another highlight. It is within walking distance of major landmarks like The Parliament and St. Stephen’s Basilica, making it a perfect base for exploring Budapest. There are also many great restaurants and other tourist spots nearby, making it easy to enjoy the city without the hassle of long commutes. I highly recommend this hotel for its quality and convenience!

Very Good
MMooniBaWas very affordable ok, for one night.. It is also big plus that they have female dormitories.. Location is on the popular busy street, what can be good or not. I just wanted to be close the airport bus and that is the best solution, when you need to leave early or you will arrive late..
RRoxyThe park plaza was a last minute choice for us as we had originally booked into an extremely horrifying Airbnb but we were so lucky to book their last room! It’s in such a prime location with a beautiful view of the parliament building and tram / metro stops within a 5 min walk.
The staff were really accommodating and informative and always smiling which is so lovely to see in the morning.
The only issue we experienced was the malfunctioning AC but they tried their best to resolve it and even offered a room change and complimentary drinks to show their care.
Overall, it was a great stay and I will definitely look to them next time k go to Budapest. Thank you!

The hostel provides free breakfast and dinner options, enhancing its value for travelers. Overall, Avenue Hostel is suitable for budget-conscious travelers seeking a central location and communal atmosphere.
GGuest UserReading the reviews, overall I was expecting worse. The room was a little dated but clean, the bathroom ditto. Clean sheets and towels. On the other hand, the pillows offered are really uncomfortable, the mini bar is not working and the breakfast is very poor and without a sweet proposal: I went on for three days on bread, butter and jam. The staff were friendly enough and the location was excellent for getting to the center by public transport.
