Casa Umare

There is no signage on the street, you just have to press all the buttons of where you think it might be. You also have to request to be allowed out and back in. There is no front door key for guests and you have to make special arrangements if you stay out past 1am. My photographs show EVERYTHING costs extra; towels, blankets etc. I had one towel for three days. The windows are dangerous to open and close, you could easily lose a finger. I chose this accommodation for my stay because of the photographs of the rooftop terrace and pool and I was bitterly disappointed. The lady who checked me in said the pool wasn't working today. I asked if it would be okay the next day and she said maybe. After I had unpacked I went in search of the pool and roof terrace. The overgrown stairs, leaves in the pool, dead bird and lack of seating meant that this place had not been looked after for quite a while. This was the height of the summer season. I purposely booked here as somewhere to sit outside and read my books. I ended up sitting on the edge of a wall for an hour until my back couldn't take anymore. The one television was fixed in a peculiar low space and the plug didn't even match the socket. It didn't matter as there was no English TV channels. The rooms were unclean. The walls were stained and the rugs were filthy. The description of kitchenette is an exaggeration. You couldn't cook a meal. Very little within walking distance. I had to pay US$260 for one person for two nights, which is a rip off. I spoke Pablo twice during my stay, he was very polite and spoke good English. I was leaving Argentina and wanted to use up my remaining currency (approx US$32) to reduce my bill but Pablo would not allow this. He also was completely unaware of how UBER worked and that my driver was waiting outside, whilst I was profusely sweating with the stress and hot environment. He told me a taxi would be about US$42 to EZE airport, UBER was actually US$15-20
