"Номер компактный, но есть все необходимое: холодильник, стол, шкаф, душ. Было тихо. Гостиница удобно расположена - в самом центре Каира. Снаружи здания есть небольшая вывеска, но она не бросается в глаза. Гостиница на 6 этаже, есть достаточно просторный лифт."

"It is an old hotel, I had no problems and it was very good. The breakfast was great. Only the rooms are very noisy from the street, even during the middle of the night. The location of the hotel is also good, close to Tahrir Square."
"Because it is close to the airport, I chose this hotel on my last day in Cairo. Unexpectedly, all the staff were very friendly. It is indeed a five-star hotel. After check-in, a waiter will take the guest to the room in person, and will also meet guests on the way. Introducing various facilities, it was a pity that I was unable to enjoy many facilities due to my late check-in. I only went to the gym. The gym is very large and has complete facilities. I hope to have the opportunity to stay here again next time."
"It is not far from the Cairo Museum in the downtown of Cairo's old town. In a small alley, it is more difficult to find. It is recommended to translate the hotel address into Arabic. The local driver in Cairo is not very good at English. The hotel room is generally watered in public areas. The service is quite enthusiastic, the floor is relatively low, the door is locked at night, and the hotel does not provide slippers."
"The hotel is old but the size of the room is big. However, the room service is not detail. They either forget to refill your water on one day and another day will forget to change your towel. They will forget one thing on everyday."
"I must give this a five-point praise, because it completely exceeded my expectations. The hotel is in a very convenient location, the surrounding environment is also good, it is very new, the room has everything, it is not inferior to a five-star hotel, and there is a kitchen to cook, which is very suitable for me to travel during Ramadan. There is also a washing machine, and even washing powder is prepared. There is a retractable clothesline in the bathroom, just in time for me to wash all the clothes after two weeks of being away. The Internet is also very good. In short, life here is very convenient, highly recommended."
"Facilities: very convenient, there is an elevator. The TV and kettle in the room are normal. The air conditioner is very loud and the water heater is unstable.
Hygiene: very clean
Environment: 20 minutes by taxi to the airport
Service: Attentive, delivered to the door"

Very Good
GGuest UserI have traveled to several countries and stayed in many five-star hotels. In a poor country like Cairo, I am really surprised that there is such a high-end and cost-effective hotel. This hotel has cured me of all the travel fatigue for half a month and made my children happy. .I am happy. I feel like I am a princess 👸 being pampered. And I am really high-end and classy. The ceiling of Egypt.
KKharina97For the price we paid for three rooms at over US$100 a night and considering it was a Hilton we were extremely disappointed in the rooms. The lobby looked promising, and the staff was very nice. However, the rooms looked borderline ******* and did not feel super clean. There were weird hallways and random rooms that we had to walk into before going into the hotel room itself well the staff was amazing. I cannot say that it is Hilton standard or quality and was extremely disappointed. Considering Hilton is a worldwide brand.
GGuest UserLovely smart hotel. Several restaurants. Massage and gym. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel nice sbd roomy. Rooms spacious. Would stay there again but if you want to be in the town centre with many shops you need to stay closer to city centre as this, was, about 30 minutes from airport. It didn't matter because everything is a short cheap taxi fare away. Also it's next to a military camp where you can see and hear the soldiers marching from your balcony. If the bugle noise bothers, you at 6am then maybe not for you. Also, but not related to the hotel you'll be woken up at 4am by the, wailing from the mosques but you can't really get away from that can you. The hotel I understand is, owned by the military and so you'll often see soldiers stay there. They weren't any trouble. In fact it made you feel safe.
GGuest UserVery nice hotel for early start at airport. Staff all amazingly helpful and especially many thanks to Ahmed Anwar customer relations manager for assisting me to check in on-line for my flight. Thank you sir.
GGuest UserThis hostel has a good location and I would say that it is pretty walkable in the early morning and very late at night but the walking infrastructure is not the best in Cairo. Mid day the traffic makes it very tricky to walk around even though there are many good restaurants and attractions nearby.
Finding it is a little tricky but it is down an alley that doesn't allow cards and it is located on floor 2 of an older building. There is an elevator but all doors and gates need to be closed in order for it to work and we found guests at the hostel weren't good at closing after themselves. The staff are very kind and welcoming but we got a bit hung up on the payment. We booked on Trip with the ”Pay at the Hotel” option for 3100 Egyptian pounds for three nights in a private room but they were asking for 3600 when we were checking in. After a little back and forth they let us check in and gave us the keys so we could rest and wait for the manager's answer. The manager said no to our booked rate, we were told we booked on ******* and we now had to pay 3900 Egyptian pounds. I'm at a loss of words for this discrepancy between Trip and the hostel but there weren't better deals in the area we wanted to stay and we very reluctantly paid.
The room was just a place to sleep with a box to the side where our shower and toilet were. The box had no ceiling or ventilation so there were smells throughout the room from the drains. The beds were comfy but were not completely clean when we arrived - there was hairs in the bed sheets. The room cleanliness overall could have been better. The area is quiet at night and we got a good night's rest to spend our days exploring Cairo.
The breakfast was ok but there wasn't much room to eat in the common areas during our stay so we asked for breakfast in our room during our stay. We had a simple breakfast with a fried egg, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, banana, tea/coffee and Arabic bread. It is enough to get you through until lunch and is served starting at 8 pm. There is a convenience store close by that offers fairly priced snacks and drinks which you might want to seek out because they do not provide water at this hostel.
We hope this property improves because it seems like it used to be really good and the location is good as well.
AAnonymous UserIn general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights.
Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building.
* Location & Transportation
Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum.
And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price.
In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes
Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones.
Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it.
* Building and room conditions
Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room.
It is quite convenient a washstand in each room.
However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler.
It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel.
* Cleanness & Safety
Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this.
* Services
There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water.
Wifi is too weak to use the internet.
Other services like laundry are satisfied.
* Others
During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally.
In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better.
And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable.
Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.
AAjalil43Novotel Cairo Airport offered a convenient, if brief, respite. Proximity to the terminals is its strongest asset, ideal for layovers. The rooms were clean and functional, though somewhat dated. Service was efficient, though not overly warm. The breakfast buffet provided a decent selection. Noise insulation was adequate, minimizing airport disturbances. Overall, it's a practical choice for transit passengers prioritizing ease of access over luxury. A solid, reliable option for a short stay, fulfilling its purpose as an airport hotel.
GGuest UserThis hotel was better than expected. We didnt stay at our usual hotel as the prices for Cairo currently are very high so this was the first time at this hotel.
The location is really good - pharmacies, restaurants, kiosks and a Metro market all with 30 seconds walk of the hotel and of course Zamalek is really central so a good hub for Uber and getting around the city.
Prior reviews are pretty bad but we found the hotel incredibly clean, the side nile view room we had was large, well appointed, the furniture was certainly not tired and we were pleased with the room from a comfort and business perspective. WIFI worked well, a desk in the room and settee and the bed was GREAT.
They really dont have any facilities and there is no gym which is an issue for us but we knew this before booking but there are many gyms close by so dont let this be an issue - just GOOGLE!
The breakfast by Egyptian standards was alright. The big plus is the omlette/egg station and they also do morning crepes. Fruit, hot food section, breads,, salads etc and frankly it does the job. Egyptians do breakfast really well so although this is a bit below par on an Egyptian level - on a European level it is very good compared to your travelodges and Holiday Inn Express's in the UK.
The staff as always are friendly, attentive and yes you need to tip but this is the same in all Egypt - average tip is 20 EGP. Leave something to housekeeping and you will get lot of extras eg extra coffee etc.
I liked the hotel, the other reviewers I think may have been there as tourists expecting something different but frankly this is a good tourist class hotel and its always a good sign when you see Egyptians staying which there were.
The average price for hotels in Cairo is AED 381 on weekdays, and AED 381 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
