"The room is OK, this price can not ask too much, the location is good, just next to the Cairo Museum, there is a small supermarket next to it, but you need to take a taxi to the pyramid, go to the left, go to the largest shopping mall also need to take a taxi, go to the right, the cost is about 30 yuan, I went to the attractions the first day and took a taxi back and forth to the mall for 1 day on the third day. If you want to save money, you can live here, of course you can also choose a better hotel next to it."

"Maybe because there were not many people staying, we were upgraded to a triple room. The hotel is located in the city center, within walking distance to the National Museum. There is a small supermarket downstairs and many restaurants around. However, since it is not on the first floor, you have to go inside the building when you first go there, remember to pay attention to the signs on the wall. There is a mosque next to it, and the breakfast is okay. After all, the price is here, it is a relatively cost-effective hotel."

"The shower was also hot water and A / C was also attached, and it was very comfortable as a cheap dormitory.
It was not a two-stage bed, but a single, and it was well selected and there was no insect.
There was a drink shop in front of the hotel.
Needless to say, the biggest experience would be an elevator."

"Everything here is great! The location is excellent, the interior decoration is very retro, and the most commendable thing is the rooftop! You can enjoy the beautiful view of Cairo city here. The owner and service staff are very friendly and they are happy to make friends. I spent a very memorable three nights here! Although the facilities may be a little old, you can't ask for anything else at such a cheap price. "When we arrived, it was a little difficult to find the building, because there was no sign of Lucky Hostel in the lobby. However a very persistent man outside, insisted that the building with sign “El otel”, is the correct building. We trust him and we entered. Another problem, it looked like to use the elevator to 4th floor, we must have access card. We wait for about 5 minutes and fortunately there was a man came down, and we asked his help to tap on the elevator using his card. Other than that, my husband & I were happy to stay in this hostel. Our room was so big and with sofa too!! Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Hot shower was very pleasant in cold morning. And we were very happy that the staff allow us to put our luggage while we were away to Luxor. We stay for total of 4 nights and we were allowed again to put our luggage while we went shopping, because our flight was in the middle of the night."

Soooo clean and safe, and absolutely beautiful. I could feel the care of this historic building. Well done staff! Don’t change a thing. IImpulsive TravellerThe location is at city center nearby to Egyptian Museum. Plenty of amenities within 10 minutes walk. The famed Koshary Abu Tarek is within 6 minutes walk. The rooms are well maintained. There is a staff at the reception 24/7. Guests of all ages and nationalities can be accomodated.
Suggestion for improvement:
1. The towels to be issued upon check-in and not upon request.
2. The lift need to be upgraded as I was ever caught inside when there is a power trip. And often the lift did not operate because the lift door was not closed properly. Understand that the lift is not manage by your hostel. Please request for it from the building owner as it is not acceptable.
3. Consider centralized air condition system. Anyone can turn off the air conditioner affecting others.

② The reception staff are friendly (similar to those in Japan).
③ There's a concierge. (I purchased my tickets online, but they didn't arrive by email. I had to call the ticket sales company and they resolved the issue.)
④ Aside from the ants, the room was clean.

① There were a ton of ants in the room.
② While the pyramids are certainly close, the entrance gate is quite far away. The entrance gate closest to the hotel was closed and inaccessible.

EE3571****The room is large, the boss is very welcoming, and the breakfast is very Chinese-friendly. You can overlook the city of Cairo from the rooftop. I plan to stay here next time I come to Cairo. It is very close to the museum, the Hanging Church and Saladin's Castle.

Solution ** ust bring an earplug ( The one that you would receive on in airplane ) and everything's gonna be fine

AAnonymous UserIn general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights.
Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building.
* Location & Transportation
Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum.
And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price.
In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes
Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones.
Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it.
* Building and room conditions
Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room.
It is quite convenient a washstand in each room.
However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler.
It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel.
* Cleanness & Safety
Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this.
* Services
There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water.
Wifi is too weak to use the internet.
Other services like laundry are satisfied.
* Others
During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally.
In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better.
And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable.
Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.

DDiazThe hotel is very simple, the stuff is very friendly and helpful, they gave me early check in.
We stayed 4 days they cleaned the room 2 times, we had to ask for toilet paper every time we needed it. The towels didn’t work very well (polyester), very noisy area, and we were in the first floor were you could hear what everybody in the forts floor were doing in the corridor, nobody controls noicy people.
