"Everything here is great! The location is excellent, the interior decoration is very retro, and the most commendable thing is the rooftop! You can enjoy the beautiful view of Cairo city here. The owner and service staff are very friendly and they are happy to make friends. I spent a very memorable three nights here! Although the facilities may be a little old, you can't ask for anything else at such a cheap price. I love this hotel and I will choose this hotel again if I have the opportunity to come to Cairo next time."

"I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, always ready to assist with anything I needed. The breakfast was amazing—beautifully served, and you could really see the dedication put into it. The entire hotel was spotless, and when I turned on the shower, I could smell the bleach, which reassured me of the high level of cleanliness. It’s also a very quiet place, perfect for a relaxing stay. One of the best parts is the convenience of having a mini fridge in the room and a Carrefour right next door. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Cairo!"

"I stayed here a year ago. The room I was shown this time was very clean. It's within walking distance to GOBUS. You have to cross a busy street, but it takes about 10 minutes to get to the bus stop! The toilet is always wet, so please bring indoor slippers that you don't mind getting wet. You will also need to bring your own shampoo and towels."

"The hotel is in a great location, very close to the National Museum and Victory Square, and there are many supermarkets nearby for food and drinks. The hotel staff is super nice and the breakfast is delicious. The sanitary conditions are very good and very clean. My phone fell in the toilet, and the hotel staff Mango (mangguo) picked it up and sent it back to my room. Thank him very much, I will definitely stay here again next time."

"Honestly, I want to save this gem in Cairo a secret because I will return and I don’t want it to be overbooked. It was absolutely the best managed hostel I have EVER stayed in. Soooo clean and safe, and absolutely beautiful. I could feel the care of this historic building. Well done staff! Don’t change a thing. The swimming pool and deck were so clean and an amazing ambiance.Thank you!"

"When we arrived, it was a little difficult to find the building, because there was no sign of Lucky Hostel in the lobby. However a very persistent man outside, insisted that the building with sign “El otel”, is the correct building. We trust him and we entered. Another problem, it looked like to use the elevator to 4th floor, we must have access card. We wait for about 5 minutes and fortunately there was a man came down, and we asked his help to tap on the elevator using his card. Other than that, my husband & I were happy to stay in this hostel. Our room was so big and with sofa too!! Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Hot shower was very pleasant in cold morning. And we were very happy that the staff allow us to put our luggage while we were away to Luxor. We stay for total of 4 nights and we were allowed again to put our luggage while we went shopping, because our flight was in the middle of the night."

"Room is in a good location close to Tahrir Square and Egyptian Museum. You will need to carry your luggage up the stairs for one floor after taking the lift (goes up to the sixth floor) which is something to note if you have heavy luggage. Room is basic but comfortable enough, would like to suggest putting more hooks in the toilet and more electrical outlets."

"This hostel has a good location and I would say that it is pretty walkable in the early morning and very late at night but the walking infrastructure is not the best in Cairo. Mid day the traffic makes it very tricky to walk around even though there are many good restaurants and attractions nearby. Finding it is a little tricky but it is down an alley that doesn't allow cards and it is located on floor 2 of an older building. There is an elevator but all doors and gates need to be closed in order for it to work and we found guests at the hostel weren't good at closing after themselves. The staff are very kind and welcoming but we got a bit hung up on the payment. We booked on Trip with the ”Pay at the Hotel” option for 3100 Egyptian pounds for three nights in a private room but they were asking for 3600 when we were checking in. After a little back and forth they let us check in and gave us the keys so we could rest and wait for the manager's answer. The manager said no to our booked rate, we were told we booked on ******* and we now had to pay 3900 Egyptian pounds. I'm at a loss of words for this discrepancy between Trip and the hostel but there weren't better deals in the area we wanted to stay and we very reluctantly paid. The room was just a place to sleep with a box to the side where our shower and toilet were. The box had no ceiling or ventilation so there were smells throughout the room from the drains. The beds were comfy but were not completely clean when we arrived - there was hairs in the bed sheets. The room cleanliness overall could have been better. The area is quiet at night and we got a good night's rest to spend our days exploring Cairo. The breakfast was ok but there wasn't much room to eat in the common areas during our stay so we asked for breakfast in our room during our stay. We had a simple breakfast with a fried egg, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, banana, tea/coffee and Arabic bread. It is enough to get you through until lunch and is served starting at 8 pm. There is a convenience store close by that offers fairly priced snacks and drinks which you might want to seek out because they do not provide water at this hostel. We hope this property improves because it seems like it used to be really good and the location is good as well."
