Hotels in Downtown Calgary, Calgary

We love the hotel’s location. Most of the attractions in downtown Calgary are just walking distance. The check in went smooth and fast, the front desk personnels are quite friendly, helpful and accommodating (especially Catherine). There are also many restaurants nearby. We loved our stay at the hotel.

The location is a bit off, no different from the domestic holiday chain. There are various restaurants around. The hotel service is OK, but the breakfast is a bit simple and ends a bit early at 9:30.

Nice place. Good location, in the city centre. Lots of touristic spots nearby. The bus station is next to it - useful for going to the airport or other locations.

Came to Calgary to visit friends, and booked this hotel out of trust in Marriott. The actual experience was quite good. The room is a little small, but it is still okay for one person. The hotel breakfast is very good, whether it is buffet or ordered. I had to catch a very early flight on the last day, and the kitchen helped me pack a portion before. The front desk staff who helped me order food in the evening was also very nice and patiently introduced each dish to me. The only dissatisfaction is that the bathroom door in the room is also the door of the closet. When the bathroom door is closed, the inside of the closet will be exposed. I don’t like this design very much... Other than that, everything else is good. The hotel is in a good location, close to Chinatown and shopping malls. I walked all of them, and it is not far from the light rail station. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the airport by Uber, which is not too far (after all, Calgary is such a big place). I will stay here next time I come to Calgary!

We love the location (next to great Asian food in malls) and a short walk to a river side. The room was also comfy! The breakfast here was also good with hearty serving. You can select a main with adds-on from the breakfast menu. Unfortunately, there was a hiccup during our stay. We obtained approval to shift one morning's inclusive breakfast to another morning due to early morning tour departure. However, this was not conveyed to the restaurant. We disputed the charges when the bill was presented to us. Though the reception officers assured us that no charges would be imposed during our check-out, the hotel still charged the breakfast against our pre-authorised deposit. It took some efforts of liaising with my credit card company and emailing to a generic email (only telephone number listed on their webpage) before I obtained a refund.

The hotel is a legendary hotel that opened in 1913 and has been 110 years ago. It is the same hotel where Queen Elizabeth stayed. The front desk upgraded the room type to a top floor room. The room has a large usable space, the bathroom is large, and the equipment is LeLabo. The gym and swimming pool are on the B1 floor of the hotel. The swimming pool is not large, but the temperature of the pool is very comfortable. What impressed me most about this hotel is the Hawthorn Lounge on the first floor of the hotel. Breakfast is served a la carte, with dedicated service. At the end of the meal, a postcard from the hotel is given to you. The location of the hotel is very convenient, just one step away from Calgary Tower and Wonderland Sculpture; the room service is fast.

I recently stayed at the Sandman Hotel and had a great experience overall. The location is fantastic, with easy access to nearby attractions and conveniences. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay, making me feel welcome. There’s also a nice restaurant attached to the hotel, which was very convenient and served excellent food. The only downside was the loud noise from the train on the street below, which could be disruptive at times. Despite this, I would still recommend the hotel for its prime location and excellent service.

Close to the center of downtown. However it is recommended not to go outside during late night.

A great hotel with wonderful service. I spent the full day working from the room and then enjoyed the amenities after. Incredible staff at the front desk and were able to check me in early.

Did not eat breakfast, but the lunch on the first floor restaurant was ok, the room was large, the double room seemed to allow four people, because the four of us opened two rooms, the front desk started to make a mistake and thought we were one Room, and then gave us four room cards, did not say nothing wrong, and later learned that it is two rooms. There is a small swimming pool on the first floor, and the environment is ok. The double beds in the double room are large, with a balcony, a coffee machine, and hygiene. You can see Calgary Tower when you go out. It takes about five or six minutes to walk.
