Despite the slightly tired looking exterior, this is an excellent choice if you want a hotel in Cambridge, with parking, and walking distance to the city centre. Our room was on the ground floor but facing the rear and was very peaceful. The room is quite small but everything worked, it was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the shower water pressure was fantastic.
Breakfast, included in our package, was very very good. Plenty of choice and the cooked food was served on piping hot plates. Best of all, Jackie and Jan, the two wonderful ladies who served us. Actually they did more than serve, they made our breakfast memorable and warm. I hope these two ladies are well regarded by the hotel management, as we really want to return based upon their personal and very welcoming characters. Lovely, lovely ladies.
In case you didn’t realise, we thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The reception insisted I have not paid the room and she charged my debit card. Later on she realized she made a mistake when I showed her the payment record (to Trip.com) and then she refunded to me. Very poor check in experience

The hotel was renovated from two old buildings. It was quite unique. The family room was spacious enough. But the strange thing was that I didn't know what the British were thinking. The hot and cold taps for the basin and bathtub were separate. The bathtub didn't have a shower. Was it for people to fill it with water and take a bath? Then there was a big plastic cup next to it... Please see the picture and imagine how to use it? Anyway, I didn't take a bath that night!

It is actually a family hotel, but the room is very big and decorated in a very typical English style. I like it very much. It is about 10 minutes away from Punting and 15 minutes' walk from Cambridge. The breakfast is also a very typical English breakfast.

First of all, there is no front desk at this hotel. I rang the doorbell and waited for a while before someone came to open the door and give me the key. The room was good overall, with basically all the facilities, but the shower head couldn't be removed, which was annoying, and the toilet was quite small. It's not far from Cambridge University, so the location is OK. Breakfast is downstairs, with dry goods such as corn flakes on the table, and a menu, so you can ask the waiter to order cooked food.

The room looked OK, but it was underground, and although the windows could be opened, they were full of cobwebs, and the environment after opening was a bit dirty (so it was almost like there was no window), and the air quality was poor. Then it was the kind of family hotel
