Pet friendly Hotels Cambridge

This is a great little independent hotel close to the heart of Cambridge that has a real touch of luxury for a very affordable price. We had a great time. Lovely drinks in the afternoon, followed by trip into Cambridge and everyone was very friendly. Only slight downside was that the breakfast was, perhaps a little underwhelming rather than that we really really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel's location is excellent. I arrived around 1:00 PM, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They arranged for an early check-in, allowing me to store my luggage in my room and promptly begin my exploration of Cambridge.

A very British-style hotel, right next to River Cam. From the terrace of the room you can see people taking cruise ships. It is also very pleasant to have a hearty English breakfast by the river.

Room is dirty and has a smell, breakfast was alright and it a 10mins drive away from city centre. Bear in mind there’s no aircon…

I was disappointed that my room was not cleaned, nor bed made, after my first night. The sign requesting not to be disturbed was hanging on the door handle inside the room. I only discovered the note instructing me to hang another sign, found with the towels on a chair in the room, on the outside handle requesting ”new towels”, if I wanted the room serviced. If the cleaners do not enter the room unless there is a visible request for new towels, what is the necessity of a sign requesting not to be disturbed? No one is going to come in. I fully understand the advantages of not replacing the towels every day - and endorse that. But I would have liked to be clearly informed of the note in the paper that came with my room ”key”.

I had an absolutely remarkable experience. From the moment I stepped into the elegant lobby, I was greeted by warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality that lasted throughout my entire stay. On the plus site, the room was quiet and had a good comfortable bed. It was cleaned (prior to arrive, but no room servicing unless you stay for 4 days it appears), and while I didn't use it there was an air conditioning control. On the negative side, glass doors for bathrooms (even with slightly obscure glass so I can't see peoples faces) is at best a poor decision, putting a full length mirror on the wall equidistant between the tollet and bed is just such poor taste. No breakfast, the restaurant was closed. Useful bus over the road, and not being able to get a place near the centre had chosen that option, but they were a bit hit and miss with the timings (about 10 minutes late going into town and it was about 20 minutes late in the evening coming back - so two buses went the other way before one came back). There is a nice garden area, and near the hotel is a Sainsbury's with a bakery nearby. I don't really get why they have decided to not paint in the lift area (and left it fairly badly plastered), I'm sure it is a style thing. There is a carpark on site (I think that was £15 a day), two cars tailgated behind me which the hotel didn't seem to bothered about, but were still keen to charge me...

No bed for third person made up, called receptionist I was told someone will come and do it, this was at 19:00 no one ever came, even after following up over the phone. I spent night sleeping without bedding, on plain sofa bed without a single pillow. Terrible experience and poor service. Not enough towels, just for one person & again after calling reception- I was told that they ran out of towels!!! This was enough for my family to bare after whole day of travel, especially the room booked was Executive one. So expected to be up to highest standard and service to be over the top, this isn’t the case. Cleanliness is very poor - see pictures. Dust everywhere and this wasn’t one day worth. After asking for partial refund due to poor service, I was given a silly look and smile, advised to sent email online. Do not bother going there.

Travelodge wouldn’t have been a bad memory except for TRIP that made it a horrible one for me , I definitely sure this would be my last dealing with them. Here is my ordeal with Travelodge and TRIP.com, on arriving the hotel I discovered the hotel has no air conditioning and it was terribly hot in London, I immediately notified the hotel of my intention to check out which they agreed to and are willing to give me a refund , unfortunately the TRIP customer service kept going round and round with the situation inorder for them to make me finish my stay at the hotel even with the fact that I complained it wasn’t comfortable, to be honest the hotel did their best to ensure I get my refund but trip messed everything up, there was practically nothing they didn’t do to make sure I didn’t check out even when someone from the hotel spoke with them about their willingness to give me a refund this is the hotel Ass. Manager ( Mrs Gosia) . I had a very terrible experience with trip and it is definitely going to be my last . I couldn’t sleep most of the night because of the terrible heat at night thanks to trip. 😞
