"I arrived early in the morning and they had already a lot of room ready, have private parking that is very grateful in that area, as it is usually quite full of cars by the beach. The hotel was very comfortable and clean, had a gym, a terrace on the deck and on the floor 0 sauna, hammam and pool, I thought a little curiosity that was near the reception, but there was just noticed the entrance of other guests. The room was very comfortable and the room was very comfortable.
The location in front of the beach is perfect for sunset."

"The hotel was beautiful, quietly located and with a great view. There are only a few rooms that make the stay very personal. The rooms were beautifully furnished and clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is very recommendable, it was rich and delicious. I would definitely come back!"

"I highly recommend it, the reception staff were very nice and helpful, the rooms were cleaned every day, a nice view from the balcony, there is no air conditioning, but there is a fan. Nice, large rooms, large and comfortable beds, shower gel in the bathroom and towels changed every day. Rooftop swimming pool and sun loungers. Tasty breakfasts, regularly replenished, good juices and coffee, the only thing is that there are no vegetables for a sandwich."

"A beautiful beachfront hotel that is perfect for romantic getaways and a cheaper alternative, yet still luxury, to standard 5 star hotels. Location wise the hotel isn’t great as it’s very remote from the strip/city centre and taxi prices are not particularly cheap in Madeira. The rooms are spacious and stunning, well worth it with a great selection for the breakfast buffet and plenty of restaurants/options for dinner. A lovely love band/musician plays every night which is also great. Overall a wonderful stay with much friendly staff, however if you are looking to do much sightseeing in Madeira, this hotel is not the best option unless a significant amount is left for travel."

"Nice hotel that lived up to expectations.
Excellent location in Calheta, right on a golden sand beach, with direct access from the hotel. It is ideal to have a car as it is 30 minutes from Funchal.
It's worth paying extra to have a room with a sea view
The quality and quantity of the food complies with the all-inclusive package, as do the drinks.
Daily and varied entertainment.
Good spa with heated pool, Turkish bath, sauna and cold showers.
Very pleasant outdoor pool area, with plenty of sun loungers and well designed.
Free ping pong, paid billiards (€3/hour).
Very good price/quality ratio."

"We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Valley View Hotel Encumeada and honestly would have preferred spending more days here over some of the other hotels we stayed at on the island. The front desk staff were incredibly accommodating and available around the clock, always ready to help with anything we needed.
While the rooms are a bit outdated, they had everything we needed — a spacious bathroom, comfortable beds, and a charming balcony to relax on. The property also offers plenty of parking and is in an ideal location, very central to many of the island’s most popular hikes.
The breakfast was average; it was the same offering each day and much of it would be gone early thanks to the hikers, but the coffee machine was great and always hit the spot. Overall, we would definitely recommend adding extra days at this hotel to your itinerary — you won’t regret it.
One last detail worth mentioning is how clean the room was, something my girlfriend specifically appreciated. My only small criticism would be the pillows — each side only had one small, fairly uncomfortable pillow, so that could definitely be improved."

"The bus stops nearby, but the staff take a walk if needed.
The rooms are large, spacious, clean and warm.
Breakfast is excellent, in our case we were only in 5 in the hotel so for each extra you could ask. Ex-cracked eggs, pancakes, etc.
You can order a packed lunch, be careful with the bread. They write SANDWICH and it is with our bagleaf bread. Say you want the bread in a case made at home. That's great.
Excellent dinner with various choices. Excellent prices.
There is a small bar with Madeira's handicraft beers for the aperitif.
I strongly advise this hotel!

"Excelent choice for our stay in Madeira. The hotel is located in a natural botanical garden - some will count this as a minus, but I disagree. On our arrival, at 2AM - Bolt cost was 25USD (31kms).
Excelent service, very clean, lots of activities and friendly staff.
Totally recommended."
