Didn’t stay. The photos and reviews are a complete misrepresentation. The place is not clean and the room we booked was dark and dingy. The owners were very scruffy and were not very welcoming. Asked for refund but refused.

The host could not be more enthusiastic, helpful and accomodating. Easy and welcoming arrival. Clean, comfortable and very nice rooms. The pool was great for our family, kids loved it, parents loved the mountainous back drop. Brilliant location for exploring Newlands - handy for Botanical Gardens, local pub, Newlands Cricket Ground. Lovely breakfast.. Very much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

We had the most wonderful stay at Newlands Guest House. Sarah and John were very welcoming and also very informative about the area. There was a great selection for breakfasts. Our bed was comfortable and the room was spacious and clean. The guest house is perfectly located close to a lot of the tourist attractions and there are some pubs within walking distance. The airport is 20 minutes drive away. I would definitely recommend this guest house to anyone visiting Cape Town.

Friendly owners , welcoming and cozy atmosphere. Spacious room with full bathroom, secure parking and full breakfast available in the morning. Home away from home. Can recommend with confidence.

Newlands Guest house is perfectly situated in a beautiful suburb with lovely mountain views. The hosts Sarah and John are very friendly, capable and efficient. Sarah makes the best scrambled eggs and John makes the most delicious marmalade. I loved that everyone sits together at a big table for breakfast, being a solo traveler this was a great way to meet some really delightful fellow guests. I really loved the homely atmosphere, so much better than a hotel.

I recently stayed at Newlands Guesthouse and had a fantastic experience. The rooms were clean and spacious, the owners where friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. The location is perfect and I would definitely recommend this guesthouse to others. I will definitely be back!

Will definitely return here. Really hospitable hosts, good breakfast, nice rooms, what more can you need? Good walks through Newlands forest to Kirstenbosch etc. Easy connection to Capetown and surrounding areas, and only a 15 minute trip from the airport.
