Hotel Scalinatella

WOW, the amazingly helpful staff and beauty of this hotel was so unexpected! It is a bit of a walk to get to, but they do offer transportation of the luggage which is worth every penny since cars can't drive to the hotel. Check in was easy, we got a free upgraded room, and the room was clean and beautiful! Every person who worked at the resort was friendly and went out of their way to make sure you were taken care of. I'm going to miss the morning Buongiorno's as we made our way up to breakfast! It was the best included breakfast we've had in Europe, where you can order a la carte and have a beautiful view of the island of Capri. There isn't coffee in the room, but you could order it to be delivered by room service for no fee. We were up before room service one morning and called to order, and they automatically delivered the coffee to our room once it was ready without us having to call again (fantastic touch)! Huge shout out to Luigi for the great recommendations to sightsee, eat, and explore all that Capri has to offer! Thank you to everyone including Luigi, Carlos, and Roberto. We can't wait to go back!

This hotel was really the highlight of our 3-week trip to Italy. We stayed for 4 nights and my wife and I were both blown away by the beauty of the hotel and quality of service. We had room 67 I believe, on the lower floor and were rewarded with a large deck with spectacular views and 2 bathrooms, one of which was huge with a shower and 2-person tub. We also really loved the service offered by the concierge Luigi, who helped coordinate a private boat tour as well as highlighted scenic walks around the island. He also provided us with multiple tickets to the furnicular and even our ferry tickets off the island! They also coordinated the transfer of our luggage from the ferry to the hotel and back again, but that carries an additional charge of I think €18 per piece of luggage. The pool area is super nice as well with many chaises available that also have spectacular views over the island and water. Drinks can be ordered and consumed poolside while food can be ordered but eaten at the outside tables. Lastly the breakfast was excellent with many pastries and fruit and coffees by order. One small complaint is the coffee wasn't steaming hot which is how we like it. We stayed at another 5-star hotel in Sorrento on this trip that was also spectacular but it cost €300 more per night, so this hotel seemed a great value at €920 per night. My wife absolutely loved this hotel and Capri and would come back in a heartbeat.

We just had the best vacation. Service was deserving of 5 stars, rooms were wonderful, food was very good. I think the location is perfect! Walking distance to center of town, yet quiet! 2beautful pools overlooking the sea. A perfect experience!

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The property is unique and has beautiful things to look at in every direction. The room was luxurious and the view was 1,000/10. The location is a little walk beyond the town which allows it to be a peaceful place to get away from the crowds but still accessible to everything you want to do (btw Fontelina Beach club is very near by if that’s on your agenda). The service is great - the staff is kind, hospitable, and looks out for your best interest.

The hotel is beautiful but cold water has been cut off twice in just one day making it impossible to take a shower or even just use a toilet. Reception is short and unhelpful. “We’ll deal with this tomorrow” was all I got. Not acceptable for a 5-star hotel

The La Scalinatella restaurant in Positano is located in a fantastic view spot - a breathtaking view. The interior, design, and dishes are gourges. The staff was friendly and attentive, but when I go to this type of restaurant and spend about 300 euros. I have firm expectations about food quality, and this, in my opinion, was a weak point. Instead of using an advantage of the great quality of products around Amalfi cost the chef overcompled it with the wired ingredients that doesn't meet the purpose. Beside the complimentary bread that we've got for the starter I cant’t point a single dish that met our culinary expectation. In my opinion it was a fiasco! I definitely will never return back will not recommend it to the people I know because it a waist of money. You can find way better restaurants in Positno with way better price over value ratio.
