An economical structure in a fairly central area, the rooms are clean and tidy even if the furnishings are very dated. The air conditioning is practically non-existent however the price is decidedly convenient in the panorama of Catania which is not very cheap.

Worst experience in my life, fithy smely place. Person running this place was shouting at us, insulting and arguing the whole stay. At the time of arrival we could not reach the place by phone or sms, we had to ask the agency to assist us. Not even the bell worked. Avoid this place!!

The woman running the place is an angry grandma who doesn’t realise she is running a B&B. During my 3 days stay, she kept shouting me in italian and when i told her that she needs to speak some English, she told me that i was in Italy and have to speak italian. She shouted at me that i merged my beds, she shouted at me that i wanted to fill my 500ml bottle with water, she shouted at me that i helped myself for coffee. The place looks worse than hour grandma’s apartment, mattresses crumbled so you fall into your bed and flimsy doors you hear even a pin drops next door. I had nightmares sleeping due to the woman’s treatment. I’ve never had such an experience in my life.

My first B&B didn't work out and I was stuck in Catania at a busy time, can only speak English and everywhere was full. Luigi from Hotel Rigel saved the day - they were full but he called around and got me booked into Victoria B&B. Although it was basic it served it's purpose and was clean and comfortable. The host is a lovely Polish lady who ensured everything ran smoothly and people enjoyed their stay. A tasty cold breakfast was offered with a variety of teas, also home made jams and a yummy brioche! I did have an issue with trying to open the front door but the host was most patient and eventually I got the knack! Other than a rude guest who insisted on taking the supplies from breakfast for his day out, and arguing when challenged, there was a variety of people passing through on their travels. Give the Victoria a go if you're visiting Catania - it's very good value and perfect for a few nights.

A shame would be an understatement!! I'll start by saying that my boyfriend and I went to a concert, despite the fact that we were advised that we would be returning a little later than the scheduled checkout time and they told us that there would be no problems, the owner she left us outside the house late at night for two hours even though we were also sick and she knew it, every now and then she came out to offend us and didn't even want to refund the money. The intervention of the police was necessary to get us up to the room, but despite this, after the police left, the lady continued to offend us even the following morning. The room was very dirty and the beds were unmade, we didn't even take advantage of the breakfast included in the price. What can I say, rude, rude and aggressive staff and very dirty rooms. A nightmare!

Once I arrived at my destination, the Lady informed me that she would open the door remotely, so that I could take the keys and check in when she returned. Around dinner time I inform the Lady that my friend and I would be staying out to eat and with the excuse I ask about the "guarded parking", but the Lady tells me that the parking can be used provided that the car is moved in the morning by 7:30. This was already starting to annoy me, given that the choice was dictated above all by the parking included. Once we returned, around 11pm, the Lady knocked on the door and asked us to check in, but as soon as we opened she came in and started accusing us of having unmade the second bed, as she believed that we should both sleep in the same bed (matrimonial). Despite several invitations to go out, the Lady continued to stay inside the room and complain about our attitude and about people in general, convinced that our reservation for the "Triple Deluxe" did not include the second bed. After showing her the payment relating to the aforementioned, he changed his tone, starting to direct his discontent towards the booking platform and its methods. Even when asked about the famous "guarded parking" he made excuses like "it was written that it wasn't for everyone", which is absolutely not true. In the morning he calls us for breakfast, which we politely refused, in order to avoid further unpleasant conversations. To advise against it would be an understatement.
