Top 5-Star Hotels in Cebu City

This visit to Marco Polo truly saddened me. If you read some of my past reviews of this hotel I noted it was my favorite place to stay anywhere in the world. This was my first post Covid visit and I was shocked and disappointed. - Basic maintenance has not been completed. For example, there is a glass elevator that goes to Blu their rooftop restaurant. This elevator was out of order and when I asked why I was told “Covid.” Covid travel restrictions were lifted a long time ago and that’s no excuse. In a second example, we returned to our room after a long night and the key did not work. It turned out the battery in the electronic device on the door needed to be replaced and the front desk understand the issue immediately, so this must happen often. Good hotels replace these batteries on a schedule so the guests never suffer from dead batteries. - Service, which used to be outstanding?@, is now unacceptable. First, the English language skills of most employees we encountered were sub par. Second, the person who checked me in was being trained, so the check in process was very slow. Third, service at the poolside bar during lunch was slow, the waitstaff inattentive and they failed to include my banana shake on the bill so as we are leaving the grab us and give us a second bill to pay. Fourth, service at breakfast was terrible. I had to ask for black tea three times before I got it, seeking some out 3 times as no one ever came to check on us. When we arrived around 9 AM there was no bacon (later replenished with bacon that looked so bad I did not even try it, fatty and not crisp), there was 1 banana, which was never replenished, there were no juice glasses (later replenished). The food quality was adequate but not nearly up to pre-Covid standards. Overall the service was lacking. - I was also disappointed that the lobby lounge, which used to have live music every night now has piano music only and only 1 night per week I am told. - There was a cart of dirty linens in our hallway both days Some of these things are not expensive or hard to fix. It doesn’t cost a lot to have live music in the lounge nightly as there are lots of singers groups looking for opportunities. It doesn’t cost a lot to make sure you change door card batteries regularly Others are basic requirements if doing business. For example you don’t leave a glass elevator to one of the most expensive restaurants in Cebu out of order for month/years. I am purchasing a condo unit in Marco Polo residences and expected to regularly visit the hotel for meals/drinks, but if this is the quality and service we can expect, then I will not be utilizing their services.

Its the blue branding! Really felt the difference! Though hotel is a bit ancient, service and facilities are still very good

We checked in last Sept.15-17 in Fili hotel we had a blast my family were satisfied all the services they offered. The hotel is a five star hotel, so its all worth it what you paid for. The last day we checked out accidentally we left my sons’s iphone in the room we noticed it when we were on the road heading home. I messaged the duty manager MR. STEVEN ROYO SANTIAGO assured to me that phone is just there in the room. Other staff were looking and asking others to help them to find until MR STEVEN SANTIAGO personally went to the room and searched and he found it. I am so happy, HONESTY and INTEGRITY is the right words for you sir STEVEN thank u so much.

A suggestion for improvement - to strengthen the rules in the pool especially to foreigners. My little kids were there swimming and they both asked why those young foreigners were not following the rules, they must be kicked out from the pool. Pity was the attendant who kept on reminding them.

The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast was good. Only 1 issue with room as the ac unit was dripping, but they quickly changed our room without any issues. All in all a very nice hotel and safe location.

We recently stayed at Elizabeth Hotel as a family and had a generally pleasant experience. While the rooms are a bit dated and could use some updates, they were clean and comfortable enough for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was definitely a highlight – simple yet delicious and filling, with enough variety to suit everyone. The hotel is also very family-friendly and offers great affordability, making it an excellent choice for budget-conscious travelers. Overall, it’s a decent option for families looking for comfort and value, despite the slightly older facilities.

We came for day use because of the excellent pools! There’s a large lap pool and a smaller pool off to the side both in a perfect landscaped setting. Great bathrooms and locker room. They offer a complimentary afternoon buffet by the pool with Filipino pastries, noodles, fruits and coffee and hot chocolate. There’s a bar next to the large pool. We decided to stay for dinner because it happened to be a Spanish themed dinner buffet specifically that night. WOW! Absolutely unbelievable spread! Chicken, paella, seafoods, salads, fire roasted tomatoes, stuffed mushrooms, dried meats and cheeses. Hot pork and fresh vegetable dishes. Dessert area they had homemade chocolate dipped churros. They were the best churros I’ve ever had! I’ve never seen a Spanish themed buffet at a hotel in Philippines and I’m so glad I tried it. Also, randomly there was a famous Kpop star staying here too. He was being mobbed by guests at the pool asking for autographs.

As part of the organizing team for our event, I was very impressed with Mezzo Hotel. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, showing a high level of professionalism while being friendly and approachable. They even provided basic medicine when needed, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. The rooms were excellent—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The food was also fantastic, offering a variety of delicious options that everyone enjoyed. Overall, our experience at Mezzo Hotel exceeded expectations, and I highly recommend it for events or stays.

Hotel wasn’t horrible but I just think I came at wrong time. Hotel needs a little renovation done to brighten up pool areas. They were a bit run down. While I was staying there I barely had hot water. And when water did work the pressure was low. Besides that, the room was pretty clean and modern. The service staff were good. The door man and door people were friendly. They had a nice gym with almost every machine,a spa, mini ****** and a restaurant in the building. You can get your laundry done for very cheap in tower 2 of the building. Overall it was decent if you are passing through cebu. The location is pretty good because you are next to a lot in city. But it is very busy when you exit hotel.

2-room suite in a classic style, with a full kitchen, in one room there is a double bed, in the other a single bed, we asked for an extra bed, they did not charge us for it. Air conditioners work properly, hot water, clean bed linen and towels, 24-hour security, free parking, a five-minute walk from Ayala Center. Deposit for the room is 1000 pesos. There is a cafe and a spa nearby. We recommend.
