"Brand new economical whimsical hotel that my children love right in the middle
Of the city. Have big indoor slide, giant tik tac to game, gym with new equipments, a basketball ring, a gallery, someToys available also. There’s a small pool inside the hotel, but since there’s a construction nearby, not to compromise safety, they’ve closed off the pool with the Citadines infinity pool as alternative. Famous Local Sunburst & a grocery & other interesting restaurants is conveniently beside the hotel. Queen room was small, but very clean & great interior. Water dispenser is available in the aisle & a pantry too, if you wanted to have a meal outside instead in the room. Rate of S$63 came w set breakfast for 2 that was prepped made to order at an open kitchen by very perky chefs. Washer/Dryer onsite too. Hammocks are also at guests’ disposal. Their dining area also are to note. We were attended to at the Front Dest by Jules, really friendly & accommodating guy that my kids weren’t shy talk to. And the place smells like bubblegum. 🥰 Be back soon with more family. Thanks, we loved our stay!"

"The hotel is very brand new, but a lot lacking of things needed in the room, no table or chair in the room, very small room and no head board for the bed every time you lean your back into the wall bed will move forward, no bidet in the bath room to clean, no kettle or coffee provided, 2 small bottle of water is provided. ac is working good not split type but still remote control, a bit noisy. I was inform when I check in that if you bring food from outside and eat it in the dining area you will be charge 250 peaos. staff is bery helpful. its cheap compare the other hotel. why"

We've stayed in a room without windows which was relatively small but wifi is ok. In-room lock for added security is broken. Hot shower requires waiting time otherwise it's too cold. TTable_for_3We just returned home from Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan. It was our first time in Cebu. It was a short but great trip.
The highlights:
Accommodations: We chose Crimson because we frequent high-rise hotels when traveling and decided this time we wanted a villa/bungalow type of room. No hallways and no elevators. Crimson checked those boxes. They also accommodated our requests for a king bed and first floor room.
Activities and amenities: Our daughter loved Crimzone and the children’s pool. It was hard to get her to leave. The Saturday foam party was fun and the pool staff were engaging. My wife and I both availed the spa and wow, we can see why they won an award for Best Value in Asia. The price was affordable while the quality of service was top-notch.
Food: The buffet breakfast was good and had a lot of variety. My favorite item was the fruit and veggie smoothies. Who knew bakchoy and mango blend well together? But it was the attentive staff that really made breakfast a great experience. We tried the 24-hour room service and I swear the chicken club sandwich was one of the best I’ve had in my entire life 5/5!
The lowlights:
Here are some reasons why we are not giving Crimson an excellent review.
1. Overpriced/low quality food in Saffron during ala carte dinner. Our first night we arrived in the evening and were hungry. For two people (our daughter is a toddler) we paid over 5000php for an appetizer, 3 entrees, one beer and one bottle of water. Honestly, the price would be ok for this amount of food if the quality was better. I would suggest Aka or Enye for higher quality food although we didn’t try either. Saffron was empty that night and we found out why.
2. Distance to places/sites. Crimson is quite far for shopping or eating at other restaurants. We hired a private car for 3 hours and was only able to visit two sites and one pasalubong store. Luckily it was only moderate traffic on that Saturday. 2500php for a sedan for 3 hours was reasonable.
3. The gift shop is waaaay overpriced. 950php for a small tube of sunblock seemed very high even at a resort. We also wanted some souvenirs, but there wasn’t much variety at all.
4. Our room needed some TLC. The paint in the nice tub was chipping, the caulking in the showers could use a refresh and there was a huge ipis (roach) in the closet. Luckily we spent most of the time outside the room.
5. No floaties or life vests for toddlers to use, even for rental. Despite having almost everything else, this would have been a nice touch.
6. We came to Cebu for mangoes and lechon, but Crimson didn’t offer these items and again, because of distance, it would have been nice to have some at the hotel.
The bottom line:
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to others, however we would give them our full review so they are aware of the pros and cons.

AAnonymous UserWe booked two rooms and we were only able to get one room when we checked in and the other room an hour and a half after! We followed up multiple times and complained about how the room wasn’t ready when it’s already the check-in time. They told us that the staff was already on the way up to bring the key card for the other room yet it took a long time (given the fact that the rooms were just at the second floor, above the lobby) when we followed up for the third time, we were told that the card was being brought from the main wing that’s why it’s taking so long like? we literally got the key card from our first room on the front desk lobby below our floor (ocean wing). They are also very strict about the room capacity that you have to pay 3k plus to pay for an extra person unlike other four-five star hotels. The room was also dusty, my boyfriend kept sneezing non-stop when we went in the room and had to take anti-histamine. Facilities were great though.

LLee YaroStay was honestly good. Service was good. Like a proper 5 star hotel. There are pools on both levels 4 and 5. Staff was helpful and professional.
Spotted a roach in the bedroom but didn't see it anymore. So no issues.

KKurzaWe stayed for 4 nights and were happy with the room, breakfast, staff, room service en general service the hotel provides.
The only thing we think they can improve on, will be the gym. It was too hot inside and the temperature can not be changed. The equipment can also be more, since 2 treadmills are not enough for the size of the hotel. It happened one morning that my wife and I could not jog because there was someone else on the treadmill. If they had more equipment, it would have been possible.
Still, generally we enjoyed our stay and we will return when we are in Cebu again.

Mini-Bar is complimentary with a selection of 2 local beers, juices, and sodas. Nespresso machine with 4 capsules. TWG tea. Bottled water is unlimited. I appreciate the fridge being very cold.
Gerlain Paris branded bathroom amenities, as well as bath salts for the large bath.
Afternoon Tea (2:30 pm - 4:30 pm)
Light snacks with a limited selection of savory and sweet bites, they need to improve on this.
Evening cocktails and canapés (5:30 pm - 7:30 pm)
Excellent food buffet. I like the lechon quesadillas, jalapeño cheese poppers, and siomai. I appreciate the bartender crafting cocktails from a menu of drinks.
I understand the hotel is still brand new, but they need to do multiple inspections before releasing the room to guest. Vanity mirror was dusty from construction.
The Butler service was very attentive, many thanks to Ice (Butler) for making my stay pleasant, he would escort me to the pool, and even breakfast buffet at Fili Hotel bypassing the crowd at the entrance.
Breakfast Buffet is at Fili Hotel which is extensive and one of the best in Cebu. The problem is the crowd, while Nustar Butlers will escort Nustar guests to a table, there’s no dedicated tables for Nustar guests, which confuses the restaurant staff with seating assignments. Alternatively, the breakfast buffet at the executive club lounge is quiet but with limited options, they should have an a la carte menu to expand options like other international luxury hotels.
The security at the lobby entrance is wildly inconvenient and inconsistent, every time you enter you need to prove you’re a guest of Nustar and not a guest of Fili or a casino player. It’s weird that they are sometimes overly strict and many times just ignore people passing by. Guests have a keycard to use elevators what’s the point of the guards that have a list of people’s names and room numbers, if anything that’s a security risk.
The pool service is lacking. Shared between 2 hotels and the upcoming grand summit. The pool area lacks service of a 5-star hotel, towels need to be claimed at a towel hut. My expectation is that there are staff that will setup loungers with towels for guests. And since the pool facility is shared with the muncher large Fili Hotel it can get crowded. Fortunately, Nustar has a private infinity pool which was closed my stay.
Nustar Resort has potential to be Cebu’s most luxurious hotel, they have the hard product with their spacious luxurious rooms, but they need to improve their soft product - the service from the butlers are outstanding and personal, but everyone else seems to be lost. For the asking price of 250-300 usd per night there’s a lot to expect.
Nustar is primed for excellence but falls just short of achieving refined luxury. I’m hoping Nustar partners with Marriott and rebrand under Luxury Collection. Or even Hyatt with Unbound Collection.

JJIANWe stayed in a room on the 8th floor of the Palm building, The view is very spacious, and you can see planes taking off one after another from the distance. There is a drying rack on the balcony for hanging swimsuits, which is a very practical design.
The water park is very suitable for children, the rooftop bar is very relaxing, and the drinks are delicious. The Earth restaurant offers Chinese cuisine with large portions. In the photos, we ordered small portions. The staff at both restaurants are very enthusiastic.
However, the downside is that we had to wait a long time for the room, and we didn’t get the room card until nearly 3:30 p.m. After a long journey, this was a very frustrating process. Additionally, there was no hairdryer in the room, and it took three phone calls before one was finally delivered, which was also a negative experience.

The owners are on the grounds and personally assisting with the guests and things around the resort.
Food menus are set for every other day, which is unique. The food is delicious! A mix between local and foreign cuisine. They’re accommodating with minor changes to each meal if you request it. They also asked if we wanted our Mel served in our room, which is very cool also!
Adults only, so it is a quiet place. Pool is 24 hours. Check out time can be flexible if requested and the room isn’t booked for your check out day.
This is a great place for couples who want a quiet and relaxing place to stay.
It’s nearby Oslob, the place to see whale sharks.
If taking a bus from Cebu city, the trip is about 3.5-4 hours depending on traffic.
The beach is relaxing with very natural sand composition and the sand isn’t connected to the water, it’s above it. Bring water shoes as the water is natural with coral. Great for snorkeling!
At night we found a giant hermit crab on the beach! First time to see one so big!

KKarinaKVery beautiful hotel in Greek style, white and blue. Immersed in flowering trees. The hotel has 2 residential floors and access to the roof. The view from the roof is very beautiful. The room had a kettle, refrigerator, welcome coffee and even tea. There is constant access to drinking water in a cooler on the floor. The water pressure and temperature in the shower are good. You can dry things after the sea in the backyard under the roof (constant protection of drying clothes from the sun or rain). We liked it, the shore is close. The photo shows the view from the roof of the hotel.

The in-house restaurant staff was attentive and ensured a delightful dining experience.
What truly set the Tsai Hotel apart was the exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable, always greeting me with warm smiles and a willingness to assist with any request.
While everything was close to perfect, a minor improvement could be enhancing soundproofing in the rooms to block out occasional street noise. Nonetheless, this did not significantly detract from my overall experience.
I highly recommend the Tsai Hotel and Residences to anyone visiting the area. It offers excellent value for money, a prime location, and impeccable service that guarantees a memorable stay. I am looking forward to returning on my next trip!
