Top 5-Star Hotels in Chengdu

I recently stayed at Dorsett Chengdu, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel is centrally located, making it convenient for exploring Chengdu’s top attractions, including Kuanzhai Alley and Tianfu Square. The nearby metro station was a huge plus for getting around the city with ease. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the concierge team was always available to offer recommendations and assistance. Their warm hospitality added a personal touch that made us feel welcome. The room was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean, with a comfortable bed, a large desk for working, and a well-equipped bathroom with high-quality toiletries. I especially appreciated the thoughtful details, such as complimentary bottled water, slippers, and a selection of teas. The floor-to-ceiling windows provided stunning views of the city skyline, which was a highlight of our stay. The hotel’s breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of options to cater to both Western and Chinese tastes. From freshly made dim sum and noodles to classic pastries and fresh fruits, everything was delicious and of high quality. The dining area was spacious, and the service staff were attentive and efficient. Dorsett Chengdu also offers fantastic facilities, including a well-maintained gym and a relaxing lounge area. Although I didn’t have time to visit the spa, it looked inviting, and I’d love to try it on my next visit. Another standout feature was the complimentary smartphone provided in the room, which came with internet access and was incredibly helpful for navigating the city. Overall, Dorsett Chengdu exceeded my expectations in every way. It offers exceptional value for money, combining luxurious comfort with top-notch service and an unbeatable location. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chengdu and will definitely stay here again on my next trip!

Good location, amazing breakfast - unfortunately all this and it's good service cannot make it a newer building. There is quite a bit of clonking, water rushing and clanking and humming going on like you would expect from old tenement buildings.

We had a fantastic time staying at the hotel. The kids enjoyed the pool, the breakfast was so tasty, and the staff was kind and helpful, especially Mira at the front desk! Will highly recommend it to families.

JW Marriott Chengdu hotel has exceeded our expectations. The Executive Club Lounge was a relaxing, welcoming space with polite and hard-working staff. We found the hotel’s central location ideal for exploring Chengdu. We ordered room service on the first night. The Dan Dan noodles with minced pork and vegetables, as well as the fried rice were exceptional. We love the overall service persons especially the concierge staff who helped us booked for taxis quickly and took care of the directions. Highly recommended for any foreign visitors

This Ritz-Carlton hotel is in an excellent location for families. The Taikoo Li and IFS shopping area is only a few minutes away by metro or Didi. The Chengdu Panda Reserve Base is a very reasonable distance (30 minutes drive). The facilities are very nice. The lobby has a great view from the 25th floor. The cafe there also has good coffee and food. The room was very comfortable and clean, with an excellent coat closet. The bathroom is one of the best-equipped we have seen. It has a fully-equipped Toto bidet (automatic opening lid, washing, drying, warming), a convenient hair-dryer outlet inside the drawer, a nice tub and shower. We had the twin room (which was really full-size beds) that was plenty of room for us and our son. Each bed already came with 4 pillows each. All the hotel staff demonstrated excellent service. Especially Lucia Shang at the front desk reception. She was very helpful and answered all of my questions (in English). I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a central location and well-equipped facilities.

Excellent service all throughout the hotel stay from check in to butler service to Yan Ting restaurant service to check out. Big rooms with high ceilings and excellent layout. Best shower with huge shower rooms and multi shower bar as well as a good sized tub. Smart toilet even better than the ones in Japan. Yan Ting, their Chinese restaurant, serves the best Peking duck and dimsum. Breakfast buffet is so-so, and doesn't change daily. Make sure though to get the dan dan mien, snow fungus, soy bean curd etc local delicacies. Gym has top of the line machines and even has full Pilates equipment! Sauna and steam room also excellent. Didn't get the chance to try the two indoor and outdoor pools as we didn't bring swimsuits but they look big and clean as well. Will definitely return if we next visit Chengdu.

We had the suite including the package for high tea and breakfast in the executive lounge, which we found absolutely worth the price Nice and helpful staff, at the front desk as well as shoe cleaning, in room dining, room cleaners.... Very good customer experience. The room was exceptionally clean and also looked after by the staff a few times during the day. Also the pool area was very clean and enjoyable, we just missed a steam room and a sauna.

We were so glad we booked Grand Hyatt for our 6 nights stay in Chengdu! The employees were super hospitable, kind and knowledgeable. We enjoyed all the food recommendations by the front office team! They also went above and beyond to provide assistance for rectifying the accommodation challenges we faced for Chong Qing as we were unable to get through to the hotel without a local mobile number. The housekeeping employees had us impressed with the protectiveness in anticipating our needs (For eg, putting enough water for our 7 days stay in the hotel). Thank you to the valuable Grand Hyatt Team for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable! Everyone of you is surely a superstar! Appreciate each and everyone of you!

City Room view okay acceptable, did not manage to get a room to face the bridge direction which might be better to see the river lights. Veey close to the Ansung bridge and have a family mart downstairs which is convenient to get snacks and drinks. Heard take 9 mins walking fo MRT station line 2, next time will try walking. This trip is business so got no time to try the swimming pool. Only manage to walk to back lanes and found local foods and is delicious and good price.

Great hotel located 10mins walk from the airport. The room is clean, the bed is very comfortable, and the staff is very friendly. There’s also an airport shuttle bus available.
