🏨 Indigo Hotel Chengdu · A Real Stay Experience ——After a year to settle, there are still some 'unresolved feelings'. ✨ Let's start with the heartwarming aspects (service highlights): · Early Check-in & Rest Lounge 🛋️ They arranged a rest lounge and breakfast, which is very friendly for early arrivals. The concierge escorted me all the way to the room, so I didn't have to worry about my luggage. · Cocktail Voucher Surprise 🍸 At a time when suite upgrades are strict, they offered two specially crafted cocktails. Both the presentation and balance were on point. I must commend the bar – their products are excellent. · The 'Human Touch' in the Breakfast Department 🌟 Jennifer specially prepared passion fruit for me the next day, showcasing exceptional personalized service. Even more touching was Anel—I asked for a latte with the Indigo logo or Jiaozi elements. She said the restaurant didn't have it, but a few minutes later, she had the lobby bar make one and send it up. This act truly blew me away. And then there's Nick, who was attentive and thoughtful throughout. · A Godsend for Room Key Collectors 💳 Kiki, knowing I collect room cards, proactively helped engrave my name on it. I truly appreciate this thoughtfulness. · Jiaozi Elements Throughout 🏮 From the carpets and wall patterns to the room key, the design language was consistent, exuding a strong Chengdu cultural vibe. --- ⚠️ But there are too many serious flaws (I have to get this off my chest): 1. Wi-Fi Connection Issues 📶 Couldn't log in with room number + name; finally connected using a code. No one informed me in advance, which wasted my time. 2. Shocking Hygiene Problems 😱 · There was a dried peanut candy by the bed (at least 3 days old). The housekeeping staff scraped it off with her hand, clearly not a fresh residue. (Image 17) · There were what looked like footprint stains on the bedsheet under the pillow. (Image 16) · There was tissue paper trash in the tote bag—this hotel had the same issue in a Ctrip bad review from March 2026. Why is it reappearing? (Image 15) → Does the hotel truly value every piece of feedback? Is there a quality control process for room cleaning? 3. Coffee Stains in Coffee Cup ☕ Not properly washed, a deduction for lack of attention to detail. (Image 14) 4. Billing Mix-up 💳💢 The front desk said I could charge to the room, but the Chinese restaurant replied that it showed 'vacant room, checked out,' making it impossible to charge. I was forced to go to the front desk to sort it out in the middle of my meal, completely disrupting my dining experience. 5. Welcome Amenity & View 🏗️ The room faced a construction site, and the welcome amenity was generic, completely unrelated to the Jiaozi IP or Chengdu culture—a wasted opportunity given the hotel's excellent design theme. 6. Limited Breakfast Delivery Time ⏰ Local snacks were not served upon seating but delivered at fixed times. If you missed the window, you missed the experience. Compared to other IHG hotels, this seems a bit stingy. 7. Careless Turndown Service 🛏️ The post-meal tray wasn't cleared, and the table was messy, completely lacking the ritual of a turndown service. 8. Excuses for Cleaning Response 🧹 I requested the peanut candy to be cleaned. After 10 minutes, no one came. I prompted again, and someone finally arrived after 15 minutes. The staff said, 'I arrived early but didn't knock due to the 'Do Not Disturb' sign.' Why didn't they call? The excuse was too obvious. 9. 'Double Standard' Experience 📱 There were cultural interactive activities at the front desk, like Jiaozi rubbings and panda cars, but no one introduced them to me during check-in. The next day, I saw a vlogger's video where the staff elaborately explained everything on camera... Does one only get an explanation if there's a camera present? 10. Unfulfilled Email Promise 📧 Previous email communication promised a complimentary hotel-branded wine upon check-in, but it wasn't provided upon arrival. Does an employee's departure invalidate a promise? 11. Incorrect Points Audit 🔢 Despite my experienced reminder, the points were still miscalculated. My feedback wasn't followed up on immediately; I had to call member services a second time to get it registered. ——Efficiency and attitude, both disconnected. --- 🗣️ Summary The initial online reviews were poor, so I deliberately waited almost a year to visit, and the result is a mix of highs and lows, with the lows being more prominent. The design, cultural heritage, and the warmth of a few individual staff members are commendable. However, basic hygiene, service procedures, promise fulfillment, and complaint response are all completely subpar. If this is the state of the team, frankly, it doesn't do justice to the 'Indigo' name, and even less so to the rich culture of Jiaozi's birthplace.
