I am regular user of *********** site for booking hotels during visits. As usual this time when had to visit Chennai I temporarily booked Fab express B Zone (at Lake area, Nungambakkam) for our stay between 15th to 18th Sept2024 after filtering hotels based on ratings of visitors. As per the web site this hotel was rated high (8.2 out of 10) with beautiful pics. Since my visit had certain uncertainties, I cancelled the booking few days ahead of my scheduled departure. However finally I visited Chennai as scheduled. In view of my earlier booking, I approached the hotel call centre personally. Through the invaluable assistance of their executive Ms.Priyanka Kumari I checked in for a night (15th) with an understanding to extend for two more nights (16th & 17th). To me the room was just ok. However, there was no kettle facility or flask in the room for hot water. The linen was not up to standard. The supply of proper toiletries etc were lacking. There was neither any restaurant in the hotel nor any arrangement for room service etc. No breakfast arrangement for the guests. We were told to order food from swiggy. Even the basic tea/coffee supply were absent. Additional water bottles were not made available. One must come out of the room to fetch water from the cooler kept in the common corridor. The house keeping was also lacking. The location is off the main road. Availability of autos/cabs were difficult from this location. The counter staff and other staff were lacking professionalism. They were rude in their answering. The stay was such a horrible experience so that though initially I thought of staying for two more nights (16th & 17th) I had to vacate and change over to another hotel for the remaining days. The only silver lining about this hotel was the timely help of Ms. Priyanka kumari for securing the initial confirmation for 15th. I am grateful to her. I consider this stay one of the few worst stays I experienced. Not recommended for family stay.
