Grand Rezen Hotel Omiga

I travel a lot and have stayed in hundreds of hotels... but this was the worst experience of my life! When I arrived in my room, I found toenails scattered all over the carpet, and after reporting it to reception (where almost no one speaks English), I found the cleaning lady picking them up one by one, without even using the vacuum cleaner. There are no-smoking signs, but there are ashtrays everywhere; everyone smokes in the common areas; I even saw unlit cigarettes on the marble floor. The sauna, which was supposed to be included in the price, had been unusable for at least a year. The restaurant, which was supposed to be open all day, was actually always closed. And this is supposed to be a 5-star hotel?! It's just a facade! The first day, I asked for a whiskey at the lobby bar and was told they didn't have it, even though there were bottles on display. The second day, I asked for a beer, and the waitress waved "No" and then ignored me. It was clear I wasn't welcome, though I don't understand why. I paid for my stay. I was among the best-dressed people around. Maybe they don't want Westerners? I'll never know. Luckily, I'd only booked for three nights, so I left as fast as lightning!
