Lovely little house with tastefully decorated communal lounge, lovely fitted kitchen complete with (I imagine) the original range but all mod cons for preparing tea, coffee and meals if required. We didn't as central to some great pubs etc for food. Our bedroom on top floor was good size with comfy bed, en suite shower room and tea/ coffee making tray. All very clean and fresh. Lovely enclosed courtyard out back to sit for breakfast in the sunshine. Craig the owner was great with information we needed regarding access to propertylovely stay on arrival, parking across the road for £2 per day and other bits. Lots of places to visit nearby, plenty of great walks and the castle. Highly recommend 8 Lower Church Street, we would stay again.

Very comfortable stay in a private house with easy access and cheap parking over the road, close to all amenities and kitchen facilities. The courtyard to the rear was perfect on a sunny day before the races and the landlord was very helpful thank you!

I have never received such great customer service. Craig did everything he could to accommodate our stay and would highly recommend his cottage. Nothing was too much trouble and our stay was very comfortable and the area so convenient for a wedding at Mounton Brook. Craig also provided a long list of taxis to enable our return to the cottage. Thank you

Narrow steep stairs, not en-suite bathroom but across the landing dangerous at night! Very old fashioned bathroom. Ceiling is very thin with occupants very noisy above the bedroom, noisy house generally and right on road with traffic noise! Will not be staying here again! Cannot understand why they have such a high rating!

We'd finished a canoe trip down the Wye and were looking for a room late in the evening. Luckily, Craig and Vicki had one available. Craig explained the codes and sent info over straight away. We found a very clean and cosy room ready for us and (after having tea at Stone Rock Pizza just up the road) had a very good shower and excellent night's sleep. We weren't there long enough to make use of the communal living room or kitchen, but both looked tidy and welcoming. Would definitely stay again. Thank you both.

one of the nicest, best located, and real value of all the places we have already stayed . The place was very clean, modern, had everything we needed to feel at home, and was an easy walk to all the sites we wanted to see. Craig was very kind and helpful 😊 A very outstanding hospitality and very good tips. Thanks for everything

We arrived after finishing The Offa's Dyke Path and were welcomed by a lovely clean house with fully fitted kitchen (with milk for us in the fridge), lounge, bedroom, enormous bathroom with a bath and a courtyard to sit in if needed. We received the codes in the morning. The house is very conveniently situated centrally near to restaurants, bars and the railway station.

Charming period house with modern facilities. Private rooms and bathrooms with shared lounge and kitchen. Bed was comfortable and my room (Whisky or Whiskey - depending where in the house you were!) was large with a good supply of tea/coffee etc. and a kettle. Bathroom was across the corridor, so a brief step in the public hall (take a bathrobe!). The bathroom was spacious as big as the bedroom! Downstairs the kitchen is reasonable size with a dining table, fridge cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Plenty of plates, cups, mugs glasses and cutlery etc. The lounge had sofas and a television - a few too many cushions for my tastes, but each to their own! Parking on the street outside was limited to certain times and few spaces, but there are large car parks close by within a couple of minutes walk. The host was very communicative and helpful. Locally, the property is within a few minutes walk of Chepstow Castle, the river Wye, central Chepstow and the train station. Only thing to be wary of is the internal staircase - which is steep, but then that is due to the period of the property.
