Two Rivers Lodge by Marston’s Inns
8.7 (96 reviews)

Two Rivers Lodge by Marston’s Inns ★★★★

📍 Newport Rd, Chepstow

"Stayed at two rivers as I was attending a wedding nearby. Room only. Pros: Ample parking Allowed me to pick up my keycard early (as I would be at the wedding until after 10pm) Taylors coffee bags and Yorkshire tea in the room were better than the average hotel tea and coffee. Cons: The toilet seat was broken and had sticky tape holding it together. Not sure this is very sanitary. I would stay here again but for £120 per night a taped up toilet seat is not good enough."

📍 Main Road, Tintern

"We had a wonderful traditional Sunday lunch with family and friends in their well appointed restaurant. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive and gave our mixed bunch recommendations on wine and food options. The food was delicious and all 6 of us were delighted with our choices. The wine recommendation was inspired. It also helps to be situated in a beautiful part of the world - I look forward to our next visit"

📍 8 Lower Church St, Chepstow

"Narrow steep stairs, not en-suite bathroom but across the landing dangerous at night! Very old fashioned bathroom. Ceiling is very thin with occupants very noisy above the bedroom, noisy house generally and right on road with traffic noise! Will not be staying here again! Cannot understand why they have such a high rating!"

Delta Hotels St. Pierre Country Club ★★★★
"This castle hotel is magical, situated in a quiet area (golf coarse). Public areas and leisure zone are very good. We had the cheapest room, it was of an okay size, with a double bed, 2 chairs, 2 night stands, 1 chest of drawers, desk and coffee table + wardrobe. Cleanliness was okay, but I believe must be better, there was dust on the surfaces and dirt/rubbish on carpets. We didn’t have any heating and hot water, had to call the reception for couple of times and the issue was solved. Bathtub was very awkward, water pressure was poor Gym and pool/jacuzzi area are nice and spacious, sauna is very enjoyable. No bathrobes and slippers were provided (strange, it’s a 4 star hotel). Check out at 12:00, very convenient. Food is super over priced, together with the room service. Parking was okay, tight but many spots available. Definitely will come back because we loved it!"

"The room is an old hotel with a history of hundreds of years. If you like this atmosphere, you can experience it. It feels a bit like the game "Stephenci's Memory". I didn't give five stars because if you arrive at night, it feels like a game, and the bird food is a bit scary. If you are a girl, you should consider it. Self-check-in, old houses naturally have inconveniences, but the price is there after all."

"Amazing stay, Craig sorted everything out prior to our arrival. Easy check-in. It is very clean and tidy accommodation so much offered for such a great price. We were very lucky to get a room here as they get booked up very quickly. Wish we could of stayed longer. "

Wye Valley Hotel ★★★
"Lovely hotel, has a real homely feel to it. I think it looks so inviting from outside. As we arrived in tintern and drove through the village to the hotel, we rounded the corner and my mum said 'oh the wye valley hotel, that looks nice'. I said, 'that's where we're staying!' We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. Delicious breakfast in the morning, with butchers sausage, bacon, good quality eggs, tomato and mushrooms. It filled us up till our evening meal. The evening meals were also very good quality, proper homecooked food, amazing fish and chips! Barry and Sue were such lovely hosts, friendly and took a genuine interest in where we were going each day. The staff we met of an evening were also really friendly and attentive. Our rooms were bright and airy. Very clean and the tea tray had an array of teas and coffee and packet of biscuits. It was great they were replenished each day as some hotels don't do this. The bar had a real traditional feel to it, nice atmosphere to eat in for our evening meal. We chose to eat at the hotel for all 3 of our nights. "
