Easily the best hotel in Chipata. The front desk staff are EXCEPTIONAL. I have travelled all over the world and been lucky enough to experience some of the best hotels in the world and I can safely say that from a service, attitude and friendliness point of view, Protea Hotel Chipata is right up there amongst the very best. Whilst the hotel itself is good enough with clean rooms, great facilities and proper WiFi, the staff make this hotel everything it is.

This is a great hotel with excellent service. Many thanks to Maria and Moses who provided exceptional service during our stay at the hotel. well done guys - we will be back. Has to be number 1 hotel in Chipata having stayed in others.

The front office staff is so warm, they really know their job however the bar is kind off limited as they do not make cocktails even mock-tails, the food was delicious and I do not regret my trip. One thing I noticed is that they do not have a business centre on the premises & their internet is slow considering foreigners who are not allowed to buy sim cards in Zambia. They do not offer wi-fi vouchers even at a fee, it was difficult to communicate to my people back home unless I choose to sit by the reception. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the hotel!

The entire hotel is in dire need of renovation. It's not worth listing them all, everything should be overhauled. The food is really good, at least for larger groups where you have to wait for hours. The guys at the bar are great, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. I avoided the pool because I was skeptical about the water quality. Breakfast was OK

There is no doubt that this is the best hotel in Chipata, but when we arrived on the first night, right after we had a car accident, the staff were not at all empathetic and not very flexible with us. In the remaining days, whenever we requested a service from the hotel (finding a car rental company, for example), it was time-consuming and unreliable. It does not have services compatible with the level of quality expected from a Marriott hotel
