My wife and I have been coming to Basecamp for years. We like the trails and the feeling of being away from the down town traffic. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. They have a nice little Restaurant/Bar that is all that needed when you’re trying to get away from the world. I would recommend this exspence to anybody who doesn’t mind staying in a nice rustic environment. The Hershey’s

If you like adventure, no matter comfort, this is your place. The basecamp at Snowbowl is a little far from Flagstaff and little close to the Snowbowl park. The hotel is next to the road, surrounded by the forest. In my opinion, not so good if you are looking for traditional hotel amenities.

Small rooms, tiny bathroom, loud furnace, uncomfortable bed, noisy neighbors. Worst shower pressure in my life. No microwave or refrigerator in the room. The proximity to snowbowl is not worth it. Drive 10 minutes into town and stay cheaper and more comfortable.

This was a quiet and relaxing overnight stay on our recent vacation. Convenient Location between Sedona and the Grand Canyon. The restaurant and service there was great!. Cabin was clean and staff was friendly. Only negative was the shower was a bit weak.

Cabin was comfortable, quiet, minutes away from Flagstaff, about an hour from The Grand Canyon. Surrounded by lots of pine trees. Our cabin water pressure was very low and it took a while for hot water to flow out. Fireplace was appreciated because of the cold nights. Comfortable bed. Restaurant food was good, right across parking lot, only open in the afternoon/evenings. Would definitely go back and stay there again.

Place is close to Snowbowl, but I highly recommend not going here. No one is ever working the front desk, double charged my card (and was impossible to get fixed) and had no hot water. Disappointing.

Overall our experience was sub-par. We were out skiing/snowboarding on Snowbowl every day so we weren't in the room much. However, when we were looking to unwind and rest from a long day on the slopes, our cabin didn't offer the comfort we were seeking. First and foremost - I cannot say enough good things about the staff. This includes the front desk staff, the staff outside clearing the snow, and the staff at the Basecamp bar & restaurant. They are give impeccable service! They are genuinely nice people who offered to help others in the snow and whatever additional towels, toilet paper, directions, etc. you need. It's not their fault the cabins are a dump. The first thing to note is that if you get a cabin that is connected to another room (a queen bed or two doubles), the walls are PAPER thin. We were seeking a romantic getaway from Phoenix with a quiet cabin to relax in after we tried out the slopes. Our first night was accompanied by a room of screaming teenagers that were up until 2 am. We could hear every conversation and every footstep they made. Additionally, the front doors barely close. You can see a stream of light through them and the only thing locking them is the door handle. God forbid if a bear ever came to Flagstaff they would get in the door with one knock. Otherwise, the bedroom itself was okay. There was a small flatscreen tv. The wifi sometimes worked. The mattress was LOUD and very uncomfortable. The fireplace was nice but if it got too hot - the only way to cool off was to open the door because there are no fans inside. If you are someone who needs white noise such as a fan to sleep - good luck. Don't get us started on the bathrooms.... there's a reason they don't promote them. The shower was disgusting. The ceiling had mold on it. The shower is literally a gloomy concrete box of tile and drywall ceilings, with no fan to dry the moisture. If we weren't snowed in we would've moved to another hotel in downtown Flagstaff just due to how gross the shower was. We showered with slides on. The bathroom is only big enough for one person at a time to use. Overall - we didn't spend much time in the rooms, though we were not motivated to. It's a doable and just fine cabin, but nothing more. The low prices make it better if you stay Mon-Thurs. However, I would never pay the weekend prices for the current state of these cabins. These cabins have the potential to be so good. I read in another review that they are remodeling them but ... I'm not so sure. I would recommend staying in DT flagstaff and driving to Snowbowl every day over staying here.

Stinky room, reservation not found, bugs all over the room, imposible to reach the front desk via telephone. The only reason for not giving a completely negative feedback is because the restaurant employees were super kind and got us a discounted room for our first night and even gave us a discount on the food ordered. It’s a shame because we were hoping to have a great experience in this place due to the convenience of being near the Snow bowl trails.
