"The Residence offers a cozy, small space that's perfect for a short stay. Despite its compact size, it is incredibly flexible and well-designed to maximize comfort and convenience. Whether you're in town for a quick business trip or a weekend getaway, The Residence provides all the essentials you need for a pleasant stay. Highly recommended for those seeking an efficient and comfortable accommodation option."
"This hotel had a great location right in front of the ocean. We booked half board and the buffet was very plentiful, both for dinner and breakfast. The building was prestigious and had a historical feel to it. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
My only disappointment was that the gym was too small for the size of the hotel (only 3 running machines)."
"Overall a good 4 star hotels in an excellent location. We stayed for 3 nights during the busy Christmas period. Excellent buffet breakfast and rooftop view. Common areas could be cleaner such as the elevator which needs a good wipe down which was full of prints and scuff marks. The staff were the highlight with excellent service."

"This is a small hotel that amazes me, an old villa remodeled. I am looking at the delicious Japanese restaurant in the Trip.com user reviews. I decisively chose to stay because Sri Lanka is very tired. The best choice is that there are delicious foods near the hotel. I don't need to charter a car to return to the hotel and go out to find food. Stayed for a few days, the hotel itself was opened by the Japanese, the management was very good, the staff was very high, polite, punctual, and helped me return the hand left in the restaurant to the room. The passport cash inside was complete. There are not so many choices of Japanese food, but the quality is very good! The hotel is spotless, it is recommended to install an exhaust fan in the toilet, and a self-service laundry room is perfect."
"The location is next to the main street, so there is some noise. Our room is on the first floor and has a musty smell. It got better after opening the window for ventilation for a while. The bed sheets were a little damp. The two single beds were quite narrow. I feel the price/performance ratio is average, and it is a level lower than the Granbell Hotel where I stayed yesterday."
"A beautiful building in a very pleasant area of Colombo; the architecture and interior design of the hotel are a joy to behold and the vast majority of staff are polite and courteous. Plenty of amenities nearby to suit all tastes and interests. The breakfasts were great both mornings (both the Sri Lankan breakfast and the Western style), and they really lived up to the high expectations we’d had from the Instagram marketing we’d seen.
We were upgraded to the North West Suite, which was a larger room, for which we were greatly appreciative; a couple of issues with working plugs and appliances (coffee machine and hair dryer) were reported and rectified, although the wiring/plugs more broadly were temperamental and poorly placed (as expected, possibly, with the charm of an older hotel). However, the bed was comfortable, the hotel was quiet, and the bathroom was well appointed.
Our only qualm was with the overzealous Head of Housekeeping, who seemed to not grasp the subtlety required for such a role, or the privacy with which guests might like to enjoy the beautiful hotel. It appeared that he lingered all too often in search of a tip, and didn’t quite appreciate the boundaries one might desire when paying a reasonable fee for each night. My wife and I took to speedily locking the door and placing the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the handle to keep his incessant interrupting to a minimum. His deputy was, however, an asset to the hotel, who seemed to comprehend the subtle art of providing high quality service for a luxury stay in a lovely hotel.
All-in-all, a great choice for a hotel in the heart of Colombo, and hopefully, during a busier season, the aforementioned Head of Housekeeping might spread his overbearing attention across the many rooms of the hotel."
"Manipati Hotel in Colombo, an old house built in 1906, was once the private residence of the Correa family. Stepping into the hotel, it feels like traveling through time and space, and deeply appreciates the texture polished by time. The hotel cleverly retains the original colonial architectural details and historical and cultural atmosphere. The hotel has only a few rooms, and my room was unexpectedly upgraded with a small garden. A chair and a small coffee table in the corner became a good place for me to read. In the morning, squirrels jumped between the trees, green parrots played on the white walls, and I enjoyed a quiet time in the swimming pool in front of the door. Thank you!"
"The hotel is not new, but the room was clean and some colonial styling makes this not new at all unnoticeable. The rooms are not very large, rather for single travelers or for a short stay, one night. Good job by the staff."

Great
GGuest UserExceptional stay at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams! Impeccable rooms, top-notch amenities, and outstanding service. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring a seamless experience. Prime location, convenient amenities, and excellent value. I highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and memorable stay. Will definitely return!
UUthpalaI recently stayed at The Kingsbury Colombo from April 2 to April 8, 2025, and I must say — every moment of my 7-day, 6-night stay was nothing short of exceptional. As a local living overseas, I was truly impressed by the world-class hospitality I experienced here.
From the very beginning, the concierge team stood out — they were incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. Their warm attitude and impeccable service went far beyond my expectations, making me feel welcomed and valued throughout my stay.
Special thanks also to the housekeeping staff, who maintained my room perfectly. They were polite, efficient, and ensured that everything was clean and comfortable every day.
One unforgettable highlight was the in-room dining experience. I ordered the black pork curry with pol roti — and it was simply divine! Without exaggeration, it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had, full of authentic Sri Lankan flavor and prepared to perfection.
Overall, The Kingsbury Colombo exceeded all my expectations. The hotel is super clean, secure, and the staff make a genuine effort to create an exceptional experience for every guest. Whether you’re a local or a foreign traveler, I highly recommend staying here at least once — you’ll truly understand the meaning of top-tier hospitality.
Looking forward to spending my next vacation with them again!

IIM HYEOKIt was great to have a such nice hotel in the colimbo, room condition and design is awesome and all staff are really kind. Especially, I would like to point that the rooftop pool is extraordinary beautiful. I can say that having time ar rooftop pool is must thing to do in colombo.

Great
GGuest UserGood value for money, especially with a rooftop bar to embrace Columbo scenery near Lotus Tower.
Nice to see Cinnamon counter in Arrivals hall that offered to book a taxi for 7,500 but we took an Uber for 5,500. Very easy, just turn left out the door to Uber & pickme desks so you don'tneed to use apps. Tell the Uber manager destination so he books it & we paid driver cash.
Check-in was about 15 minutes once you got to front of queue. They only give one key so request another.
Stylish room with seaview. Empty fridge, but roomservice was prompt. Complimentary water bottles (good to see glass for sustainability). Conserve to preserve.
Wifi was erratic, so l called reception and they gave me an alternative login that was more stable. Porter called technician to set up tv with lovely personalized greeting and services offered.
Rooftop infinity pool closes 9pm but great openair rooftop club with bar menu. Attentive service and good burger with chips.....and beer ;-)
There was an issue with payment because we could not charge to room but the manager assisted to process it.
Overall a good stay with great value for one night but they need to make it easier for foreign tourists who prefer a hassle-free holiday.

Great
GGuest UserFirst of all, the breakfast was very good. There were all kinds of local food that I have never seen before.
Secondly, the male checkin receptionist wearing glasses was very friendly! He tried to introduce many local spots and helped handle the noise issue caused by the people next to my room. However, the female receptionist was not really helpful and quite stubborn. That male staff said I could enjoy an extended checkout due to my midnight flight during checkin, but the female receptionist said no to me later. After I explained what that male staff promised to me, she only gave me a two-hour extended checkout.
The point is what all the staff say to guests should be consistent.

Very Good
JjashjashI’ve stayed at other branches of this hotel in Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, and I’ve always had a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, this particular Sri Lanka branch was a major letdown and by far the worst among them.
Every time I called for room service, the staff were unprofessional and lacked basic courtesy. They never ended the call with a simple “thank you” or “you’re welcome,” which made the service feel cold and transactional.
To make matters worse, the gym was unavailable during my stay, and there was no prior notification about this. As someone who relies on hotel fitness facilities, this was a huge inconvenience.
The only redeeming part of my stay was Sangeetha, who was part of the lunch/dinner crew. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely made an effort to provide good service — a rare bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience.
I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving both communication and service standards.

MMaMu30Good location near the beach and almost in the center of Colombo, the rooms are a clean but there was a night where was a bad smell coming out of the AC or something, the food is great, the service is also great,
In the restaurant I could pay with my chinese card, but in the reception I couldn't, don't know why
Thank you Mandarina
GGuest UserThe hotel is quite clean, there is a swimming pool, there was no refrigerator in the room, the food in the restaurant is not very suitable for Russians, they cook unusually and not tasty. The food in the restaurants of Unyvatuna was much better. The location is very good. If you have not been to Colombo before, I highly recommend taking a tour from a tuk tuk driver, they offer tours at the hotels. You can negotiate for 4000 rupees. He will briefly tell you in English and drive around Colombo for 3 or 4 hours. We saw all the main sights and the driver waited at the temples and museums. Despite the fact that at the resorts they offer to pay for a tour of the same places, but with a Russian guide for 100 dollars per person. The price is not justified.
