Fantastic hotel, we arrived on Friday evening to a lovely welcome. Beautiful room and ate in the bar on the first night. The staff were fabulous, very knowledgeable about wines… we had to try a selection! Local farm shop was very nice next door and we went off to explore saltburn on sea which was lovely then onto Yarm for a bit of shopping. There was plenty to do in the local area. Dinner in the restaurant on Saturday night was very good, again the staff were brilliant and paired wines to our menu. Breakfast on both days was great, nothing too much trouble. We will absolutely be back again.

Stayed for two nights, both of us wished we could have stayed longer. The people at the hotel where amazing and although we didn't intend to eat at the hotel we couldn't resist and were not disappointed. Already talking about going back. Went to relax and we did :)

Overnight stay for my 70th birthday Staff and service outstanding throughout our stay Fantastic building our bedroom had a balcony and magnificent views of the garden and surrounding countryside Evening dinner was 5***** from the a la carte menu Outstanding wine list Breakfast was excellent fantastic choice of continental or cooked

Amazing! From start to finish my stay was perfect. Came out and collected my bags and carried to the room. Food was to die for. I have a lot of allergies and they catered for it. I have absolutely no complaints will definitely be back. Thank you for making my birthday special.

Beautiful setting, spacious rooms & a fabulous breakfast. Incredibly friendly staff. Martin & Gloria made a real fuss of our boys making for a very enjoyable family stay. The nearby Crathorne Arms was a relaxed gastropub perfect for an alternative early family drink & dinner. 20mins from Northallerton station and 15mins from Middlesborough accessible by Uber was perfect for us heading up from London and playing at a regional tennis tournament in town. We will make this a regular annual trip.

Amazing hotel, fantastic location, beautiful food and staff that go above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one. Alice and Olivia make the start of your stay, via a great welcome to the hotel and the rest of the staff such as Byron, Guster the Maitre D and Sarah continue to ensure you live the dream. Even turning the bed down. closing the curtains on an evening before you retire. If you are a hotel and want to know how staff should act and treat clients book yourself in here. An absolute delight. Excels in hospitality. A friendly staff will make you feel right at home. I stayed for a week, wish it were longer. These folks will make you feel like you’re family. I casually asked one member of the staff (Martin) if there were any chocolate available. A short while later, he brought me a selection of chocolate bars from a store in town. I had not asked him to do so, but he saw it as an opportunity to go the extra mile. The entire staff is helpful like that. I have been traveling for 40 years and facilities like this are not forgotten.

Very convenient location easy to find. Very helpful professional staff. Good food from a varied menu to suit broad tastes and dietary requirements. Very clean well decorated and furnished whilst preserving the character of this heroically constructed residence. Thank you for a very pleasant stay.
