Summit Montana Suites & Spa at Mall

Firstly, I would like to thank Sonija and Nisha for helping us out at the reception with all our needs and trying to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I was travelling with my parents and thus booked a Premium Family Room with a mountain view. We paid a total of ₹21,500/- for 3 nights stay from 2nd of January to 5th of January, 2025. So, upon arrival, we got room 201, right beside the kitchen, at the very end on the 3rd floor. Although the view was not worth it at all, since we could only see the bare minimum of the mountains and saw mostly the roofs and water tanks of the hotels in front, the room did have big glass windows with double layered curtains that gave a lot of sunlight. The hotel is located just above the Rink Mall, Darjeeling and when taking the lift upstairs, one can see the inside of the entire mall. The room and the bathroom were pretty good, although the bathroom did give us some problems….I’ll get to that later. The food was of standard quality, although a bit expensive considering the menu. And I did receive a half cooked chicken dish upon ordering. But they promptly adjusted it when I complained. So no issue there. The breakfast buffet has a nice selection of items and a pretty expansive spread. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast buffet, even more than the A-La-Carte menus. The TV worked perfectly at first, and I even logged into my own OTT account. But the remote stopped working properly and then once we had a power outage, and I couldn’t log back into any of the OTT platforms on the TV after that. Although they did have a nice variety of channels on their Tata Sky set top box. The staff was very cordial and gave prompt service, until it was at night, after 08:00 pm. If you asked for room service at that time, well, expect to wait over an hour for just a spoon!!! The main problem began when the kitchen’s exhaust fan started running. OMG!! The sound was soo loud!! It began at around 06:00-06:30 in the morning and ended at 11:00 at night. The sound was so freaking loud that we couldn’t even hear each other inside the room over it. But it couldn’t be helped since we got the room just beside the kitchen, and thus had to endure it. Another drawback was the bathroom. The shower was quite nice and had a glass door separating it from the entire bathroom. Although it was nice and organised, there was a problem of water logging behind the commode. Even if we didn’t use the bathroom the entire day, there was still water logged behind it, leaking from the hand shower. The wash basin was also very shallow and thus a lot of water splashed all around after using. But I cannot deny that they had all the facilities available in the bathroom. Even had liquid hand soap at the basin, as well as a hair dryer outside, which we could plug in anywhere we wanted. But if one wanted to take a long hot shower, well, then forget it. The geyser water barely lasted one round of shampoo, app. 8-10 minutes, and then you have to wait for almost 10-1

The place is soo nice & clean with great location. Very good in services. Employees are really welcoming and helpful rather it's reception, room service or dinning. Great environment with live music at dinner & food is also good. Also room has a very good Kanchonjonga view and full moon view.

Our large family recently stayed at Hotel Summit Montana, and our experience was truly enhanced by the exceptional service at the Summit Montana restaurant. Mona, Upasana, and Amar were attentive and welcoming, making sure our buffet breakfast was enjoyable for everyone. Despite the busy mornings, they took time to ask if we needed anything and even delivered items directly to our table. They went above and beyond, especially for a senior family member, thoughtfully bringing breakfast to the room when needed. Their care and attention to detail made us feel right at home. Thank you, Mona, Upasana, and Amar, for making our mornings memorable!!

Awesome stay and great experience. Hotel staffs delivered well customer centricity. Had very nice breakfast and dinner. The hotel staffs and cooks prepared food as requested. Must visit again..................... Next visit again next year....................

The overall experience at the accomodation was brilliant and the supporting staff Mona and Aniket were also very cooperative and friendly in nature. Our every corresponding need ranging from toiletries to water to any doubts on for the hotel was attended to.

Our recent stay at Summit Montana Darjeeling had some highlights but was largely disappointing. I booked 3 premium view rooms for our family. While the rooms felt special, the wooden floors were not very clean and felt sticky. Additionally, the TVs in all three rooms were defective, which was frustrating. The view from the rooms might have been nice, but unfortunately, the weather was not clear during our stay. The breakfast at the restaurant was limited but tasty, and we appreciated the care shown by Mona, who ensured we had a good experience at breakfast. The hotel’s location is convenient, within a 10-15 minute walk from the mall, making it easy to explore the area. However, our overall experience was not great. We faced delays during check-in and allocating car parking, and the rooms were not well-maintained. The reception staff during the evening shift seemed untrained and unhelpful, which added to the dissatisfaction. Moreover, the hotel provided us with unclean tap water in the room drinking water bottles, which caused health issues for my family, including a child and senior citizens. This was a serious issue. Though the hotel apologized and provided packed drinking water, it was a breach of trust that impacted our stay. Despite some positives, the lack of cleanliness, faulty amenities, and overall service quality will lead me to leave a below-average rating for this stay.
