Four Points properties in Datong

The hotel is a short distance from Datong Ancient City, walkable or bikeable. A taxi costs only 7 yuan. The surrounding area isn't great for walking, so I don't particularly recommend it. The breakfast restaurant is small, and the variety of options is average, not very extensive. The room facilities are also just okay; the bath towels and toilet paper are of very poor quality, not fitting for a Hilton-branded hotel. I hope this can be improved. There also seemed to be an issue with the room's electricity, it was intermittent, and the charging port on the outlet wouldn't charge my data cable properly – perhaps unstable voltage? I didn't investigate further as I was checking out soon. Honestly, this trip wasn't as perfect as I'd hoped, and it wasn't just the hotel. Overall, the service level feels a bit behind first-tier cities, and there's a lot of room for improvement compared to other tourist cities. However, the cultural landscape of Datong is absolutely stunning: the Hanging Temple, Mount Heng, the Ancient City, the Grottoes, Huayan Temple… every single one is unforgettable. In summary, I hope Shanxi continues to improve.
