Getaways at Destin Holiday Beach Resort

Overall good experience. Internet is sporadic. So are the beach chairs. Rooms are nice. Closer to a condo than a hotel room. Easy walk to lots of stuff. However, the malls and such require a drive. Free beverages in the lobby. Enjoyable stay.

This resort is one that caters to vacationing families and middle aged to older folks. In the month of March, it is a very big deal knowing that there is a great resort is better suited for people like myself. Therefore, that means that people like myself can rest easier knowing that we can stay at the resort and enjoy our vacations without having to deal with college spring breakers. I do want to note that when reading previous reviews, I saw some talk about the age of the resort. Me personally, I knew that this is one of the older resorts in the area but they have done a very good job maintaining it and have clearly remodeled it over the years. Yes much of the furniture is not brand new but it has been maintained very well over the years which to me is more important than how new the furniture is. Therefore, the resort has ensured that it is still a great place to stay at regardless of how long it has been since it opened. Overall, it would be nice if the resort could do something in a future remodel to ensure that units are better insulated from the noise from heavy winds. I also wish it would be possible for them to increase the size of the shower in the main bathroom in the units but due to the nature of the unit, it is likely not possible. That being said, neither of those things are deal breakers and if I decide to go back to Destin at some point, this resort would be up towards the top of my list in terms of places where I would want to stay at.

Quiet and peaceful Loved the beach access on both sides of the resort. Beautiful white sand though very few shells. Plenty to do locally even during the cold.

Old dated. Not kept up, dirty, cockroaches, Beautiful location. Laundry lady Elisa was amazing. Pots and pans unusable. Scratched teflon! Ice machine in lobby ready for legioners disease! Male manager very unfriendly. Coffe maker had black mould inside.

the small units have a porch and a wonderful view of the beach. One bedroom have a wonderful view of a parking garage. the small units have a nice pull divider that gives some privacy between the bed and the hide a bed. we had 5 rooms total for our large family gathering. some of the rooms need a little TLC with updating but nothing bad. We had a stove that had a broken burner and the over got really hot. the toaster only toasted on one side but we made due. several units didnt have all the required dishes, silverware, glasses and the office was very eager to give us what we needed. we enjoyed the visit.

We had a very relaxing vacation at Destin Holiday Beach Resort. Fun Fact: In the 50’s this resort was actually a Holiday Inn. It has an old school charm to it. The resort has two heated pools, two hot tubs and beach access. The property was very clean and maintained. Our unit 2201 was a three bedroom condo. The third bedroom was a bunk room which was very small. The second bedroom had a queen size bed and the master had a king size bed. I would highly recommend bringing your own pillows. The master only had two pillows.
