Regency Hotel

We recently enjoyed a wonderful staycation at The Regency Hotel in the Isle of Man, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Paul at check-in, whose friendly and professional service set the tone for our stay. We choose the Presidential Suite and it was definitely great value! The room was spacious, elegant, and with breathtaking views. The lift was also a piece of History! Never have I ever had to close lift doors manually! A great experience! Some elevator music would really top this experience off. Dinner at the hotel's L'Experience Restaurant was equally impressive. The menu offered a fantastic selection of dishes, and the food was both beautifully presented and delicious. You must try the award winning French Onion Soup! Simply amazing! The service throughout the evening was outstanding, making it a perfect end to our day. The room was extremely comfortable for our overnight stay, extremely cosy during the raging storm outside! Overall, the hospitality, attention to detail, and superb service made this staycation one to remember. We can’t wait to return!

The hotel and room itself are clearly full of character. The old fashioned effect around the lobby is beautiful, however the room definitely needs an update. The size of the room and bathroom was incredibly generous, and we loved having the choice of a bath or shower. We did, however, find that the windows and/or frames need replacing, as the noise and wind was not prevented from leaking through. Overall a clean and comfortable stay, but a huge update would be needed on style and decor for us to be in a rush to return.

Great location, good food and helpful staff. But our room was awful and we were unable to change, such a shame as it spoilt a long awaited break away. The room was at the back of the hotel, with a broken window with a cliff face directly outside, so no natural light. Other problems too.

The Regency has a slightly bygone era feel to it. Service, decor, appearance... And it's so much better for it's old fashioned standards of guest care and service The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable. The restaurant serves quality fare. The view right over the bay is beautiful whilst it's only about a mile walk into central Douglas. Excellent hotel and staff

We spent a week here in June. The hotel is very well presented and in a fabulous location. The reception area, bar lounge and dining room have been beautifully restored to capture the elegance of the period. The bedrooms are clean, light, fresh and exude luxury. We had a sea view over the bay which was amazing. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The location is great for walks along the promenade, the electric railway for visits to the Laxey Wheel and the summit of Snaefell, and the world famous horse drawn trams. The bus stops are nearby for getting around the island.......highly recommended

First visit to the Isle of Man so not sure what hotel to go for. In the event this was an excellent choice. An old hotel but modernised where required keeping the best of both worlds. Rooms are well presented with good facilities. Bar and restaurant are very good although a better selection of beers in the bar would be good. Nevertheless, the hotel restaurant is excellent in terms of quality and atmosphere with views of Douglas sea front if you get a table near the window. Staff were friendly without being over the top and happy to help sorting any issue out. Hope to visit again in the future.
