Very good, service, layout and facilities are all very good A few points that need to be improved, 1. There is no heating in the bathroom, and the washing is very cold. 2. There are some small flying insects. 3. The refrigerator is not completely free. There is a list of orders, so everyone should pay attention. 4. The breakfast the next day is average, although the selection is not good. Many, but they are all homemade

Stayed for 2 nights and from the moment we walked through we were looked after very well. Trish is amazing and helped us with a dinner reservation and taxis. The room was very nice with a view out over Dunedin. Bed was very comfortable. Good minibar with wine, selection of soft drinks and brownies on arrival. The shower was the best we have ever had! Breakfast was run by a hostess and a chef….very efficiently. The eggs were cooked to perfection. There is the option to go to the castle for dinner but we chose to eat in town.

We recently spent 5 nights at Camp Estate and had a wonderful experience! The staff - Trish, Laurie, and several others whose names I can't recall were so kind, helpful, and generous. Our room, with 3 windows under the middle gable, may not have been the largest, but it had the most spectacular view out to the harbor and beyond. The king bed was very comfortable, the cooked-to-order breakfasts very good, and the afternoon cocktails and canapés special. The location is also ideal for wildlife viewing out on the peninsula as well as being not too far from downtown Dunedin. It was a lovely and relaxing end to our comprehensive New Zealand tour.

We had such a good 2 night stay here. The staff were the most friendly of all the hotels we stayed at on our tour of NZ. They brought us a platter after our long journey from Twizel, and they also did our laundry which we were very thankful for. You get complimentary entry to Larnach Castle as well. We didn’t have the meal at the Castle as we had other plans, but the breakfast was very good, and on our last day we had an early flight but they let us have breakfast early. Really friendly and excellent service thanks

An amazing place to stay, with incredible views. You are very well looked after. They do book you in for evening dinner at the castle, which we hadn’t expected, however I’m glad they did. It wasn’t too expensive and it was an amazing experience, you get a guided tour of the castle with its history and a fabulous meal in the company of fellow guests. You are chauffeured there and back, it’s just a lovely experience. Would recommend.

We received a warm welcome from Laura when we arrived and a little later she served some delicious appetizers to us and the other six guests prior to our short drive to the Castle for dinner. Our accommodation was very luxurious with beautiful views and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast before we departed in the morning. This was a truly excellent experience and we would recommend a stay here without hesitation.

Our family party of six booked all but one of the guest rooms at Camp Estate for the first destination of our stay in New Zealand. GREAT DECISION! Laurie, Annalise and all the staff were wonderful. After an initial cocktail reception, Laurie drove us to our pre-arranged dinner at the nearby Larnach Castle, as we were jet-lagged after more than 30 hours travel from the U.S. (The Castle and the Estate are part of the same organization.) The view from most rooms was of water across the way; my wife and I faced the back, so our reward was the next morning seeing sheep in the pasture about 15 or 20 meters behind the building. The mattress might have been the best we were to encounter in our next three weeks on South Island. At least it tied for first! Breakfast was a treat. Along with the fresh fruit and yogurt, the cooked-to-order hot foods were amazing. I recommend the French toast, made from home-baked bread. But you can't go wrong with the eggs benedict, oatmeal and other offerings. One of the days we were at Camp Estate involved taking a wildlife tour that went from mid-afternoon to evening ... meaning we would not make the closing time for dinner at most restaurants. The ever-helpful crew went above and beyond, preparing and serving a wonderful charcuterie platter that we enjoyed on our return. Yes, it cost additional, but they did not have to do that. The Estate doesn't normally serve any meals but breakfast. While we were enjoying this charcuterie, Annalise provided us with tips to things to do and see in the next couple of areas were would be visiting. That's just another example of extending excellent service. I highly recommend Camp Estate for those visiting the Dunedin area. If I could rate it higher than 5, I would.
