Location- Superb
Gym - Excellent
Front of House - Very poor. Didn't reflect the W service that we experienced in other countries. No smile, didn't look like she wanted to work there (Christina) , didn't brief us about what came with our reservation, ie breakfast and where to go for it. Asked for late check out at 2pm , which was granted. Thank you, however at 1.40pm , they sent someone at our door to make sure we leave the room ! Horrible and embarrassing. The deposit that they took during check in from our CC hasn't been refunded yet!
Good beakfast which was from ala carte and it was the only good service we had here... thank you Ryan for the tips on Dean Village, We went there and it was beautiful.
Overall -:For the money that we spent, this stay was a let down. I will not stay here again.

Came here for a couples holiday right before Christmas. Blown away by the stay we had for such a great value price! Complimentary drinks at the bar and the pool was lovely. Located less than a five minute walk from the station (Edinburgh Gateway), making it an accessible ten minute journey to the city centre. Staff were very polite, and if we don't return to Edinburgh for a while, we will still be using Delta Hotels for our next trip!
Thank you!

On arrival at the hotel, the reception area was undefined with people sitting and seemingly waiting for a room. We were met by a lady who didn't identify herself as being with the hotel company but instead asked if we were looking for something. (Not the best of starts). After checking with two other undefined people the lady who first approached us then informed me that the hotel room I had booked was unavailable due to technical issues and we were instead being accommodated in the sister hote (The Stewart) locatedl around the corner.
Once more, confusion reigned. We eventually realised the person who should have met us as a reception representative was the young man sat smoking on the pavement outside, the one we had passed as we entered the building. After some ten minutes of confusion and wasted time attempting to use the automated booking system the same young man asked if we wanted a room. Confusion over. We were given keys and directed along the corridor to the apartment. A well appointed and comfortable lounge/kitchen with bathroom and bedroom. There was a dishwasher and washing machine, in fact, everything necessary to a private apartment. The location was perfect in that it was within walking distance to everything you could want to do or see in Edinburgh.
Despite the initial confusion and changes to the original booking I can highly recommend the hotel apartment and will definitely look to book again.

The service was great and the security is good as you need to scan the card to access the hotel entrance and elevator. The room was great (big and clean). The location is suitable for travelers who need to use train just 5-7 minutes walk from waverley.

Great location for our trip to celebrate Hogmanay. You can’t get a better location for the festivities for the Princess street party. Traveling with a baby, they already had the cot in the room before we had arrived which was great. The staff were super kind and attentive at concierge and reception. Breakfast had a good selection if you a hot Scottish breakfast. Only downside was the parking which was a 5 min drive away ( we weren’t packing light!) Overall, solid experience

The hotel went above and beyond to take care of us. I was very impressed with the service. I loved the location. It was close enough to everything without being in the thick of it. I would definitely stay again. Thank you for making my stay so comfortable.

We recently stayed at Novotel Edinburgh for our first wedding anniversary, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so special, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.
The room was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean, with a stunning view of the city. The hotel even surprised us with a lovely anniversary treat, which was such a thoughtful touch. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious options.
The location was ideal—close to all the main attractions, yet peaceful enough for a relaxing stay. We also enjoyed the hotel’s facilities, especially the pool and bar area, which added to the overall luxury of our trip.
We couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you, Novotel Edinburgh, for making our special occasion truly memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

Check in at the front desk. Since we arrived in the morning, we thought we couldn't check in yet. Unexpectedly, we were given a room, which was pretty good. However, what happened later affected our good reviews. The room card I was given couldn't be opened. I went back to the front desk to set it up, and when I went back to the room, the door was open, but it turned out that it was not the room type I booked. I booked a room with a king-size bed and a sofa bed, but I was given a room with only a king-size bed. So I went back to the front desk... The front desk said that the system of Ctrip and their hotel was different, so they couldn't be sure that I booked a room with a sofa bed. I showed them the confirmation letter again and asked them to find the manager for me. Let us use the current room first. So we went out to play and planned to come back later. At night, there was still no room, and the manager asked me to show the confirmation letter again. Then he said that the sanitation was still being cleaned, and it was expected to be more than an hour before I could get the room, and he would call the current room. As a result, after more than an hour, I was finally given the room I wanted. Hahaha, it was quite a hassle.

Overall, this hotel was average. The service staff was not entirely friendly most of the time during our stay. One of them did not check our booking properly and kept telling us we had not paid for our reservation when we have already paid fully on Trip.com. Whenever we were at the reception for general queries and help, the staff always seemed reluctant to help us as well.

Amazing
AAnonymous UserWe booked this last minute and so glad they have availability because a previous booking had pet restrictions. It's a little off the city centre but there's a bus stop right in front of the hotel and several buses (#14, 30 & 33) can take you there in about 20 minutes.
Room is very spacious and because we have a dog, they upgraded us to the family room on the ground floor and paid an extra £30 for deep cleaning the room upon checkout.
Staff is very welcoming and helpful. Love the toiletries because it's in big, refillable bottles; they have a coffee machine (like Nespresso) but sadly it wasn't working. They do have instant coffee and tea options which were great.
The room gets too warm sometimes but easy to turn off the heater... Better warm than a freezing room. 😉
Palace of Holyrood is a 30-minute walk from The Scholar. Then from there, you can take Bus#35 to take you back to the hotel.
JJamesThis hotel was great!
Location was very good, close to main tourist attractions like the Royal Mile and close to major bus routes if you don’t feel like walking.
The room felt very spacious and comfortable.
It’s near great Chinese restaurants that someone who lives in China appreciates as the restaurants are run by Chinese people and the food tastes authentic and delicious.
They also sell their own gin that is made on site and the gin is really good! If you like gin, try their 1505 and then buy a bottle. Very worth it!
AAlJaWatsonThis is not a 5 star hotel! I have to be honest, I have stayed in many 5 star hotels across Asia and to come to Scotland I had hoped for better. I booked this hotel for two nights with my daughter who is in her 20’s.
Check in was swift and the twin room we were allocated was basic and not very big. Our room overlooked the Usher Hall and Castle.
Breakfast the first morning was very disappointing. There is no buffet breakfast, only al a carte. You were to choose a starter eg. Porridge, overnight oats and then a main: full cooked breakfast, pancakes with bacon. However, all the food came together, which meant that if we’d eaten the yogurt first, the main courses would have been cold. I complained to two different servers and neither of them offered so much as an apology.
To use the One Spa, you have to have booked a spa room or pay extra…definitely not worth it. This should be included for all rooms.
Don’t book this hotel, there are many better hotels in Edinburgh for the same if not less money.
GGuest UserGreat location and perfect for travelling to the airport which is 5min walk away. Breakfast starts 4am so early flyers are well covered too.
Dinner menu could improve further but generally okay

CCookieFDWe stayed at Wilde just before New Year and we were not disappointed. The location is fantastic. Just behind the castle and around the corner from Grassmarket. The staff were fantastic, from the minute we arrived till the minute we checked out. Nothing is an issue to them. The apartment was both modern and well equipped. I would definitely return, but would get a room on the 1st floor. As the lower rooms you can hear people above moving furniture etc. Not the company's fault, just inconsiderate guests that you can't choose!

AAliFor a Hilton brand, room amenities are so poor. It is very disappointing to hear you have to pay extra £2.50 just for a shaving blade.
Location is good but parking fee is overpriced.
Room is ok, amenities are not enough. Reception service varies and some are inexperienced or have little customer care.
Breakfast was great actually. I was surprised to have Haggis at breakfast!
BBrian PYI stayed second time in Yotel Edinburgh during my trip in Scotland since I wanted to be Edinburg the first and last night when I returned to London.
Yotel is a nice hotel with location right in the downtown and good for me since I took bus in and out Edinburgh airport, but not perfect location if travelers take train.

KKatrinaReally enjoyed our stay. The gym and the pool were lovely! Room clean and great shower. Super family room. The food at dinner was pricey but very big portions for kids.
DDixi.jhaveri INDHostel location is nice near university of edinburgh.
Breakfast menu is nice although its the same everyday even the options of fruits and crossiant fillings.
Its freshly made everyday . Service is nice at ground level is really nice
Pro: location, hotel staff , laundry and dry cleaning service on first come self serve basis.
Rooms have AC , Table fans, iron kit , mircrowave and fridge.
Con: Room service needs improvement. They have given it to 3rd party so have fixed timing and clean rooms faster and can be some times undone partially!
I would recommend to stay here for 3-4 days or untill you are not bored of eating same breakfast :)
Reception is available 24/7 which is nice.
Nearest bus stop at forrest road.
