The Camp is Isolated with 180 degree views of the dam, teeming with game. We were welcomed by 2 herds of elephant and a multitude of hippos at the dam in front of the lodge. The safaris were fantastic - we never saw another game vehicle on any of the game drives! One evening, we followed a pride of lions stalking of a herd of impala, then we held back, not wanting to disturb the kill. Moments later we saw them enjoying the spoils of their prey! An ideal getaway in southern Kruger Park.

What an incredible 3 days! Texan our guide took us on 6 wonderful game drives, he made sure they were all special and we were lucky enough to have plenty of lion sightings, and magical sundowner sunsets. The food was exceptional and we never went hungry! The staff were so lovely welcoming we truly felt at home. We were so sad to leave!

The cabin in the wild with the private outdoor shower and luxurious indoor tub was a complete treat! The bed was fabulous, the room/bathroom were large and the overall experience was amazing. The meals and staff service provided in the Lodge were top-notch. From 5am wake up calls to two/day expert guided safaris (complete with shacks/drinks), we couldn't have asked for more! Kudos to Herold (guide) and the whole staff at Shishangeni! We loved being there.

For this price this is a 2 star lodge staff is confused and not trained for this lodge is falling apart needs repairing at all areas maintenance a big problem game rangers knowledge also not very good

We went on our honeymoon this year. The safari rides were amazing. We saw cheetahs, lions, and many birds of prey.

The welcome from all at Shishangeni was lovely. We went on a game drive before checking in and saw some elephants and quite a few other animals. The game drives over the next few days were also very good...saw Rhino, hippo, Cheeta with a kill and lions and a juvenile leopard lazing on a tree. Being vegetarian and althoiugh they were not informed of this by our travel agent the restaurent made us very welcome and accommodated us well... well worth the cost .

Camp Shawu was an absolutely exceptional place to stay. Quiet and secluded while being in the midst of all African animals. Was the perfect place for our honeymoon and we will be back!

In our two days at Camp Shawu we alternated 3 hour game drives where we always saw something nes with time relaxing by the dam watching the hippos elephants, monkeys ducks and storks. The staff were very nice and the food plentiful and tasty. Our guide was fantastic.
