Small Luxury Apartments Pool and Sea View - Stella Del Mare

On July 20th with my wife and son we were supposed to leave Milan, (ITA flight), for Catania. The program would have been three days on the slopes of Etna and four in Fontane Bianche, at the Stella di Mare residence, check in and check out scheduled: 23/7-27/7. Unfortunately, on July 19th, the travel agency we had used for the entire package informed us that the flight had been canceled due to the now famous fire at Catania airport. The airport was initially supposed to be back in operation before July 19th...but unfortunately things turned out differently. Various proposals to postpone the departure by a few days, (among other things without any guarantee of restoring airport activity), were no longer compatible either with the days of holiday we had available, nor with the type of holiday we had dreamed of... It is paid! Therefore, with a heavy heart, we canceled the entire holiday. As you can imagine, a cancellation so late usually involves no refund from the structures contacted. …….this at least in a “normal” context. I wouldn't exactly define the disaster at Catania airport as a "normal" context. We asked the Residence Stella di Mare, through the travel agency and also directly if they could at least give us a partial voucher that we could use later... but to no avail! They applied the regulation to the letter and didn't give us any credit! (we are talking about around 800 euros). For the record... the first hotel where we were supposed to stay for the first three days... very nobly kept only the amount of the first night. Personally I believe that the management of the Stella di Mare Residence could have made a "small" effort, gaining both in terms of image and as a structure promoting tourism in Sicily. Instead, the regulation was followed "scrupulously" and conveniently, despite the "exceptional" circumstances. So what about the Residence Stella di Mare...I can't say anything because I haven't been there! I only suggest to someone interested to go there……. to ensure that there are no imminent natural disasters, meteor showers, alien invasions... could be considered irrelevant circumstances in case of cancellation of the stay! Ordinato, pulito con un parco tenuto in modo perfetto a 5 minuti dal mare. All’arrivo ti accoglie Emily che dopo averti fatto vedere l’appartamento ( all’interno fanno trovare una piccola dotazione di olio, sale, latte, zucchero, cialde di caffè e acqua) ti mostra tutta la struttura, parco, angolo barbecue, angolo fitness con sauna, biciclette elettriche ( a noleggio). Alla mattina ti fanno trovare brioche calde, tè e infusi vari. Grazie a Emily e ai suoi collaboratori. Franco & Elisa

A Fontane Bianche a 5 minuti a piedi dalla spiaggia bianca e mare cristallino c'è questa bellissima struttura, accogliente, ben curata, ben condotta da personale gentile, disponibile e sempre pronto alla risposta ad ogni tua esigenza. L'appartamento grande, dotato di tutto ciò che serve e ben pulito. Noi avevamo con noi la nostra cagnolina ed stata anche lei la benvenuta. La mattina ti coccolano con le brioches per la colazione ed in questo posto il sonno è assicurato. Se disponibile, l'appartamento puoi tenerlo così ti godi la giornata di sole, spiaggia e mare; ti fai una doccia e torni a casa. Appena possibile in questo posto meraviglioso ci torneremo. Die Lage und die Umgebung der Residence ist sehr ansprechend. Es gab jeden Morgen frische Hörnchen zum Abholen in der Reception und die ganze Anlage war sauber und gepflegt. Wir waren überrascht, dass Mitte des Aufenthalts die Wohnung geputzt und neue Wäsche gebracht wurde. Die Bungalows waren ideal gelegen und der Pool sehr nahe. Leider...... war die Wohnung etwas abgewohnt und könnte vielschöner eingerichtet werden. Die Schranktüren wackeln und lassen sich nur schwer schieben, die Küche ist sehr alt und es hat kaum Pfannen, die Dusche ist auch sehr alt. Alles in allem sollte die Wohnung etwas besser und neuer eingerichtet werden.
