Lakeside Forster Holiday Park and Village

The sunset villa no.11 was absolutely disgusting and not recommending this at all for the money we paid was not good enough! I requested management to review was told ‘it’s fine to open the windows and allow air in’. Mind you it was pouring rain and could not leave windows open. The bedroom slept like wet carpet and very musky. The over all cabin smell was extremely strong chemicals as if it was bleach. Mind you I had my 2 year old with me and obviously could not keep him in here straight away until opening the windows for a few hours while the rain stopped. The smell continued to linger the whole time. I went and purchased my own glen 20 to help this. The stove top did not work I asked a neighbour to come and help me however couldn’t get it to work until she got her lighter and tried that way and it worked. Now i do not smoke if I didn’t have her next door I wouldn’t have been able to use this stove which would have then wasted my food. The wifi internet did not work at all! The light above the dining table did not work and the cabin had multiple little black ants. The flooring was putrid my son had a shower and would walk out in the living/dining and his feet were black by the end of it. The management said to me that they could possibly move me to another sunset villa however would likely be the same with the smell.. I said not to worry however did offer to go to another villa and pay the difference but apparently this was sold out. I then stayed the night and packed up and left the next day. Only stayed the night due to travelling 7 hours from Gold Coast. I have then since requested a refund for compensation. The management have refused and have been extremely rude about this. I would not recommend staying in the sunset villas they are so outdated, poorly managed and disgusting! Not worth the price. This location was also very far on the other side of Forster not near the cafes etc only the Stockland shopping centre.

This caravan park was beautiful to stay at, amenities were great the camp kitchen had everything needed for cooking. They replace the sponges and cleaning cloths daily, also fresh tea towels daily. The office Ladies were very accomodating. We would stay again if we travel that way.

Well designed park. On the lakeside. Generous camp sites. Great amenities. Would recommend planning your stay ahead as it is very busy during summer school holidays. We stayed on a van site with ensuite. Nice level site with concrete pads for van and annex

Sunset Villa was 15m away from the water with lovely views. Spacious two bed cabin with outdoor setting(6) and indoor large table(4), big comfortable lounge and beds were very nice. Cooktop(gas)and microwave plus a dishwasher. Decent size tv with good Wi Fi. The park is very neat and well laid out. Situated a few k's south of the Forster centre. The biggest shopping centre is very close though. Lovely area reasonably busy with plenty of eateries. Plenty of beachs/waterways. Would definitely recommend the park and the area.

Looking at the site map on the internet, we chose powered site 17 because of it's close proximity to the lake for our kayaks. We discovered on arrival that the site backs directly onto a smelly, muddy creek and there were lots of mosquitoes. We would return to this park, but would choose a different site next time.

A Absolutely fabulous stay at Lakeside Forster Holiday Park it is a lovely well kept park, with great facilities and staff, our Cabin 11 was wonderful with a great Lake view. Thank you from Alan & Rosalind.
