Outeniqua Inn

Good location and a really well-appointed room. Clean, neat and comfortable. Everything one would expect of a good guest house.

Outeniqua inn is by far one of the best guest houses in George. The setting is amazing, the staff is very helpful and Mussah makes a great omelette. 10/10 recommend. I will say though, the drain in room 5 needs work, otherwise all is perfect!!!

They didn't know I was booked when I arrived, although I had checked in via a link they sent me, so I had to wait outside while they cleaned the room. I didn't have breakfast on the first morning because they didn't know it was included in my booking. I didn't eat because by 7h45am food was not yet ready. I didn't have breakfast again on the Thursday because the kitchen opened around 7h30am. When I returned to the BnB on Thursday afternoon (16h00), my room had still not been cleaned, so again I waited outside while they cleaned it. The cleaning lady is always on the phone talking loudly for hours on end in the corridors, so one can't relax in peace and quiet.

The room was spacious and comfortable. However, no Television Channels were available although it is indicated on the website that there are. We were checked in by someone who appeared to be either the groundsman or maintenance person. Communication was difficult. After that there was noboby on site to assist us in anyway. The first time we encountered the manager was the next morning as we were preparing to leave. Initially we had planned to book a further four nights as we were returning to George in a week but decided not to. Would certainly not recommend the establishment.

The property offers free off-street, covered parking, use of the pool, an outdoor seating patio, a TV lounge and use of the microwave in the kitchen. The room includes hot Beverage/making facilities. The housekeeping that I experienced was not good.
