The room was clean and overall welcoming. Unfortunately there must be a ventilation problem with the given room ( or all the building) because there was a terrible smell from the kitchen coming through the ventilation. We did check out immediately after the breakfast and skipped a morning stroll because having all our objects smelling like fried onions is not a nice souvenir to take back home. On top of that the price they ask for charging an electrical car is outrageous and one can’t know before ( to give an example : the price was 5x more than any other charger/ supercharger in any other place in France or Europe). Nevertheless at check out no one asked how was our staying so I didn’t comment about the encountered issues as nobody seems to care.

enjoying place, nice decoration, savoury food served at the restaurant, and a distinguished mark for the service and attention to guests. The owner's familly spirit transpires and you really feel home.

We were expertly cared for throughout our 9 nights at the hotel, which is really saying something considering we brought our four month old and two year old. Bottled water, juice, fruit and coffee in the room, a crib with a very nice duvet, a child-sized robe for our two year old to wear to the pool... I could go on and on. The amenities were top-notch. The hotel graciously upgraded our room to a suite with a living room, large bathroom including a shower and a bathtub, and a balcony with a table and chairs and sun loungers. For an extended stay with two kids the bigger room was great. Everything was well maintained. We didn't notice any noise from the street in front. Also, there is an elevator (another reviewer mentioned there wasn't one). The restaurant was excellent for dinner. We dined there twice and then ordered room service another night and the room service was just as wonderful as dining in. The staff were also incredibly thoughtful in seating us a little out of the way in the restaurant (with two kids this was very welcomed) though they were no less attentive. They were very knowledgeable about wine and we were impressed with the wine list. We thought the restaurant was very good value. Overall, this is a charming hotel and it really should be rated 5 stars. The staff were clearly passionate about hospitality. We were even surprised by macarons and muffins in our room one evening. Breakfast was nothing short of gourmet. We didn't eat there every morning, but it was a wonderful treat when we did. We would absolutely stay here again.

Of our 11 night tour this was by far the best hotel we stayed in. Beautiful building, with an upgraded room which was stunning. Fruit, sweets & a tea towel as little room gifts. Dinner was excellent. The service was spot on & the cuisine amazing. Breakfast buffet was superb with eggs cooked to order. Such a high quality selection. This was our 2nd stay & we will return many times (hopefully) Lovely out door pool area. Friendly reception team even when a thunderstorm took out the internet and we couldn't pay on checkout it was all handled efficiently. Water offered on departure for the journey. Try it you will love it !!!!!

We stayed here 2 nights in early October. The hotel is located just outside of Gerardmer, up in the hills above the city. Busy road out front, but virtually no traffic at night, so you can keep windows open for cooling. Beautiful views. Excellent breakfast, friendly staff. Ate dinner there twice, very fine restaurant. Henri (our server) was a big help. Blondine, in the bar, was another great staff member. Really should be a 4.5* rating, only downtic is the lack of an elevator. This would be really fun in the winter, it has that ski-lodge feel.

We really enjoyed the one night that we stayed here with a lovely dinner and breakfast. Found the bedroom to be smaller than usual but it did have a nice balcony. Thought we did think the lack of facilities in the room where not what is normally expected by a R&C hotel. Fans or A/C would have been appreciated as bedrooms very hot and stuffy especially overnight. Would return again if we where in the area as DBB package was reasonable.

Don’t go there. Price/quality ratio is out of balance. Rooms are too small: 30-40 cm between bed and wall. The road in front of the property produces an enormous amount of noise. The restaurant food (breakfast included) is less than moderate. The loss of the Michelin Star was to be expected.
