Booked in for couple of nights with my mum who is elderly with dinner on both nights. Overall the stay was good but not as good as I expected from 4 star. The room was lovely overlooking the bay, beautiful and modern but few things I wanted to highlight. Its an old hotel i know but defo not 4 star hotel, reception dark and gloomy with stained carpets and furniture in several areas. Accessible ramp area full of old sofas and furniture. We wanted to have coffee in room but no pods for the machine, asked were there any biscuits but they dont provide them in rooms. Just little things make a difference. Had to ring for them, but I was told go down to bar myself for biscuits. In the end they sent them up. Went for dinner that evening but the restaurant manager in dining room was rude, abrupt and when i was asking her questions about menu and she just cut me off and walked away. The other staff was so lovely. The food wasn't great and just luke warm when it arrived. We were booked in dining room for 2nd night but opted to eat in bar instead. Fabulous helpful barman, food was great. We had fish and chips and desserts, all lovely. All other staff were fantastic. Had massage booked (was lovely) and used hot tub too but hot tub area was very untidy and not inviting. The hot tub was not the cleanest to be honest. It's expensive to stay here so expected alot more. Bit disappointing.
