Had our wedding reception in Eccles Hotel last year and I must say that nothing was ever an issue since the very beginning of the planning stages. Food and beverage manager Dylan was very responsive and helpful all the way. He even managed to obtain an alcoholic drink that they don’t usually stock so that I can have my favourite cocktail on our wedding day! Wedding coordinator Mags made sure everything was taken care of. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. All wedding guests were served food at the same time. Food was gorgeous from starters to mains to desserts. All ingredients are sourced locally and some grown in their own garden too. They looked after us really well and i’m forever grateful. Came back for a visit 12months after and recognised a few of the staff. It was like catching up with old friends. ❤️

We had the most fabulous few days here for our Wedding in May. The locality, the hotel, the service and all the staff here were wonderful. Mags is the wedding coordinator here and she was just amazing. From start to finish, I felt so at ease and comfortable and nothing that we both asked was too much trouble and Mags did it with such pleasure. As we have noted since, we felt 'at home' here with our families and each of the staff did their best to cater to a large group of us over a few days. Mags gave such attention to detail in everything she did for our wedding. I could not recommend here more for your special day and especially Mags. She was a star and we cannot wait to visit here again soon.

I'm writing this from the 'Cosy' Bay view room that we booked. Unfortunately neither of us can catch our sleep as the bed is much too small for two people and the room is very hot, no Air-con to be found. It fells like we've booked ourselves into a glorified broom cupboard! If you're planning on booking a room for two book one of these rooms at your peril! Dinner was excellent in the beautifully appointed Garnish room, served by very helpful staff members, with a wonderful menu. Something tells me this hotel is living off it's reputation for good food. The Spa area isn't much good either and also quite hard to find! The food I would certainly recommend but don't overnight here, if you want my honest opinion.

Booked in for couple of nights with my mum who is elderly with dinner on both nights. Overall the stay was good but not as good as I expected from 4 star. The room was lovely overlooking the bay, beautiful and modern but few things I wanted to highlight. Its an old hotel i know but defo not 4 star hotel, reception dark and gloomy with stained carpets and furniture in several areas. Accessible ramp area full of old sofas and furniture. We wanted to have coffee in room but no pods for the machine, asked were there any biscuits but they dont provide them in rooms. Just little things make a difference. Had to ring for them, but I was told go down to bar myself for biscuits. In the end they sent them up. Went for dinner that evening but the restaurant manager in dining room was rude, abrupt and when i was asking her questions about menu and she just cut me off and walked away. The other staff was so lovely. The food wasn't great and just luke warm when it arrived. We were booked in dining room for 2nd night but opted to eat in bar instead. Fabulous helpful barman, food was great. We had fish and chips and desserts, all lovely. All other staff were fantastic. Had massage booked (was lovely) and used hot tub too but hot tub area was very untidy and not inviting. The hot tub was not the cleanest to be honest. It's expensive to stay here so expected alot more. Bit disappointing.

How this hotel is classified as four star is a joke. Dreary atmostphere; tiny shabby rooms with stained furniture; our friends' shower didn't work; lift out of order; our table wasn't ready for dinner having pre-booked it months in advance, and then confirmed in writing and by telephone, plus selecting our table that afternoon; maître'd very disagreeable and unhelpful; mediocre food; stained, unwashed floor in the conversatory at breakfast. All in all, the worst hotel we've stayed in anywhere in Europe.

Very comfortable & cosy room & unsuited toilet & shower. Very organised set up in that the staff ask what time you want to attend for breakfast & dinner within a certain time frame. The breakfast was excellent in particular, the full Irish breakfast. Good choice for dinner, dessert & starters & nice wine selection & 3 course meal served within a good timeframe. Dining & breakfast staff were very nice & polite. Both myself & my mum enjoyed the outside Thermal Garden experience in the nice May sunshine & the complimentary prosecco. The girls working in the spa were very nice, friendly, professional & helpful. We both enjoyed the massage. Great views of the bay from our room & the town is within walking distance. Many tourist attractions around the hotel such as Garnish Island with access to the boat across from the hotel within walking distance - boats leave for the island every half hour. Garnish Island is beautiful & well worth a visit! On the boat trip over & back to Garnish Island, the boat slows to show the seals on their rocky island, which is a beautiful sight! The Italian Garden & flowers are beautiful in particular rhododendrons. Also there is a coffee shop on the island. Bryce House is nice also. The Bamboo Gardens are within walking distance from the hotel with exotic gardens. Beautiful drive to the mountains known as Healy's Pass is nearby & well worth a visit. The Ring of Beara is also very scenic and nearby.
