"Good location, easy to get everywhere of interest just by walking. Staff were lovely, warm, friendly and helpful. Good sized room and bathroom, but there was a massive pillar right in the middle of the room which was quite awkward. Had the room at the start of the corridor near the lifts so it was a bit noisy at times. No tea or coffee facilities in room, which feels like a bit of a basic. Went out for breakfast rather than use the hotel facilities as there's plenty of options about. Only there for 2 nights so didn't seem worth kicking up a fuss about any stuff. OK for overnight but not a long stay from what I saw."

"We had such a great time this year for Semana Grande. And the Axel Hotel was in the perfect location for us. Right on the river next to a great spot for drinks and food. The rooftop pool is also a great spot to watch the fireworks! The staff was so helpful and friendly. And although we didn't need housekeeping while we were staying there they offered every day to clean our room or swap out towels or necessities for us. What a great experience. We will definitely be back!"

"Stayed a couple of nights in NYX Hotel Bilbao. The location of the hotel is ideal, with most attractions within easy walking distance. Close to the old part of Bilbao which has plenty of restaurants and bars. Also close to shops and a nice riverside walk to the Guggemheim museum. Can’t rate food as did not use hotel amenities. Overall the hotel had a modern stylish feel to it. Check in and out was speedy and staff were courteous.Rooms are quite small and the glass walled bathroom may not suit everyone’s taste. All in all, we were happy to stay at this hotel for it’s location and overall stylishness."

"The hotel was well known and its strengths remained the location, comfort of beds, quality of towels and the bathroom in case it was in the room. I haven't enjoyed the meal in any of your options so I can't comment on it. As regards deficiencies, the structure of the rooms makes the conversations of neighbouring rooms heard and clearly perceived (a good tape solves it) The spa is obsolete and it would be good to update it. The hotel is very comfortable and would repeat it, but as I suggested earlier, a 4-star hotel is defined by detail attention."

"The river view room is stunning. It is wonderful to be able to enjoy from near the beautiful Vizcaya Bridge and the beautiful estuary in which you can see different athletes rowing and also observe some small boats sailing. The room is picturesque with modern and more classic details. What I like the most, as I said, is the balcony with views of the estuary and the comfort of the bed. Good TV, it has a mini bar and coffee maker with two complimentary capsules and downstairs in the hotel hall there is an old elevator in which it has coffee, chocolate and other drinks also free of charge 24 hours a day. Good attention from the employees since they were always friendly and willing, and everything was clean. I will return as soon as I can, I felt very comfortable with everything 😃👍🏽"

"It's a nice hotel. Everything you need is there. Good city part around. But the devil was hidden in the details. 1) Upon checking in, I discovered hair from a trimmed beard in the shampoo holder on the sink (while I was yelling and running around in circles my partner had just rinsed it off). 2) Centuries of dust on the shelf and TV. 3) The clock on March 01, 2024 is still set one hour ahead. at 8:40pm I get dressed and run out to a meeting by 9pm. which as it later turns out will be in 1.20 minutes. Answer: the technician is no longer at the hotel today, we will let him know. March 04, 2024, at the time of our departure, the clock is still showing the wrong time. And I thought: ”ok we can live with that”. BUT 3) The room is hot, it's really hot. We Germans and so used to sleep at +17 degrees at night (save money energy and its healthy))). Also my the partner does not tolerate the heat at all (Also if you have age changes or something else... It could be horror). The answer from the hotel: ”It's winter, the air conditioner only works for heating”. This we find out after we have been ”cooling” for a day and a half (but the hotel description has 138 rooms with air conditioning!?). 4) We get a fan to cool down. 5) I discover that the sheets are 50 percent and the pillows are 52 percent synthetic. ((at this point, I realize why they are so sweaty and sweltering to sleep in. I know its subjective). This hotel recived 3 out of 5 in my rating. P.S.: The glasses were not washed perfectly (it's just gazpacho, not oil paint and black tea) The toilet paper holder is positioned so that you hit it with your butt every time you sit down on the toilet, and when you sit down it rests on your chest"

"Best hotel I have stayed!!! Thank you very much for every detail specially for the baby. There was a cot, baby bath, all bathroom amenities for the baby and ever to milk heated! We truly appreciate this! Better hotel than 5star hotels in Barcelona, London and Madrid!!! The concierge team were so helpful too :)"
