Top 5-Star Hotels in Hakodate

Been to Hokkaido many times but first time in Hakodate. Bourou Noguchi is one of the most expensive hotels in Yunokawa area. The Noguchi Group of hotels operates quite a few hotels in the Donan area (southern Hokkaido). Seems most, if not all, of the room are fitted with private onsen. We have a duplex room with living room and bedroom on the lower floor, and bath room on the upper floor. The room size is enormous by any Japan standard. With a premium price you pay, you get almost everything you need in a room, coffee beans and maker, free mini bar drinks, Loccitane toiletries, private in-room onsen, an empty Japanese style living room with no furniture where you can do yoga, two TVs. The room has windows on two sides facing east and west. The hotel as a whole takes a western style of decoration rather than a traditional style. I guess since most of the rooms has its own onsen, as a result the public bath on the top floor is not very outstanding, however, there are free drinks and ice cream on the lounge next to the onsen entrance. And the lounge has a nice view on Hakodate city and Mount Hakodate. Every room has its designated dining room in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Both meals serve Japanese and western style dishes. My personal opinion is that Japanese dishes is better. Service in restaurant and front desk is as good as you will find in a Japanese hotel. On the ground floor there is a library, and a bar opens until late. There is not much in the surrounding area except onsen hotels, however, there are noodle shop, sushi restaurant and drug store nearby.

This ryokan and restaurant is over 100 years old and on the ocean outside of Hakodate. Our traditional tatami room in the main building in the second floor was ocean front with beautiful view of rhe seashore and the Straits of Tsugaru. Delicious Kaiseki style dinner and breakfast featuring Hokkaido seafood and meat were served in the restaurant again with stunning oceanfront views. The public onsen which has itsmown water source had indoor and outdoor pools overlooking the beach. These views were made more memorable because of the snow on the beach. Service was polite and friendly but for the most part invisible except for meals. The only place to stay in Hakodate if you want an authentic ryokan and onsen experience with ocean views!

Stayed 2 nights here. Its perfect! Its just beside the JR station Hakodate! And the famous Morning market in town. You cant miss this hotel! Connexted to Souvenier Shop, and drug store

very big room. Excellent location, near to JR station only 2mins walking distance! Hakodate train is near, only 5 minutes walking distance. Many outstanding restaurants are nearby, like Sushi Soup begirama, Flower see sushi. Highly recommend to choose this hotel although room cleansing services are provided once every three days

This hotel is a relatively newer hotel . There is a huge free open carpark behind the hotel. Check in was fast . Welcome drinks were served. The twin rooms are very comfortable with good temperature control and firm beds. Wifi was fast. There was a bathtub and a area to sit down and shower just like in the onsen area. Two bottles of water were provided. Dinner was good with snow crabs , sashimi like tuna , octopus , ikura etc . There was also a ramen section where you cook your own ramen . For desert , there was an assortment of cakes and ice cream . Onsens were new and relatively empty. The bathing area was adequately lit . The only drawback was that only one type of shampoo and conditioner was available . There was a long indoor onsen . Outdoor onsens had a long sort of infinity pool , another pool and two barrel tubs . The onsens were clean and new and quiet. There was also a resting area that looked out over the city at night . What would make the experience better would be perhaps popsicles could be offered for all to enjoy after the onsen. Breakfast was good . Overall a very comfortable and reasonably priced stay near an Aeon mall and fantastic soba restaurant

I used it for the first time. A luxury hotel, breakfast is a special mention! We chose Japanese food in Azeria for the first night １ and Matsumae for the second night. At the buffet, there was a heap of salmon roe that I had never seen before, and I was able to make a super gorgeous seafood bowl, which was really amazing. ２ Matsumae on the night was also a very nice set, and I chose the salmon roe set, but this is also super satisfying. My friend was Hitsumabushi set, which looked very delicious! The room was large and well maintained, and it was good because it had a long-established style plus modern functionality.

It is a big hotel in Hakodate residential area. The nearest stop is Matsukaze CHO and the bus stop is Omori Cho. It is located on the east side of Hakodate station and Hakodate City Hall, and it is not far away, but it is not very busy because it is in the residential area. There is also a Family Mart nearby, and there are restaurants if you go to the station, but it is a bit inconvenient to walk to the tourist spot. I think there is no problem if I rent a bicycle for free because I rent a bicycle. There is a large parking lot on the north side of the hotel and it is parked for free, so I think there is no problem for sightseeing by car. It was a quite big hotel and I was traveling alone but I could use a twin room. Amenities were all available and there was a refrigerator in the room. The unit bus facilities were a bit old, but they were able to use it without any problems. There is also a welcome drink beside the lobby, and there is a cartoon shelf in the back and you can read it freely. The special note is the night crying soba service. It is limited to 10:00 ～ 12:00 at night, but there is a service that can be eaten freely by making salt ramen. Self service, but the ingredients are also served with charshoe, menma, corn, onion and cheeks, and you can put them as much as you like. There were many people who were used quite a lot. The staff and the response were kind, and if you go to Hakodate again, it is a hotel that I want to use again.

We stayed at Century Marina for our first night in Hokkaido and originally chose it for its proximity to most of the sites we wanted to see in Hakodate. It's just a few minute walk from the train station with plenty of sidewalks so pulling our suitcases was no issue. The hotel also has a large parking lot if you choose to drive. It's also just a few minute walk from the warehouse district and the older area up the hill where a lot of historical embassies and churches are. The hotel's breakfast buffet is an experience itself with an extensive spread of both Japanese and Western food options. You will reserve a time slot when checking in, but even then you should expect a 10-20 minute wait in the morning to get your table, so its best to go up before your reserved time. This hotel also has one of the best rooftop onsen I've seen, with wonderful views of the whole marina and hill. When booking I didn't realize there was a hot springs so this was a nice surprise. Our room was right next to the elevator but very quiet and clean. This is a newer hotel too so everything felt very fresh and well-maintained. We checked in using Japanese, but the hotel has check-in info packets and signs in English so this is a good option for non-Japanese speaking guests as well.
