Kuqa Hostels

"Huake was previously a hotel converted into an international youth hostel. We booked a twin-bed room for one night. There is a Uyghur girl who spoke impecable Mandarin with a tad bit of Beijing ascent at the front desk when we arrived. The check-in was speedy. The room was spacious and clean so were the bedding (no foul smell). The uniqueness about this hostel is, it does not provide bath towels and toilet papers. Instead, guests are given one-use towels and a pack of tissue papers which we double up as toilet papers. Initially, I thought the one-use towels (place on a try in the room) were bathing soap because they were in compressed form so I went to ask the Uyghur girl for towls and she told me those are actually compressed one-use towels. There are restaurants and minimarts next to the hostel and a night food street nearby (approx 200-300m by foot). No a bad choice if you need a layover or a couple of days stay to explore Kuqa."
