"Coming to Arxan and choosing Chengyue Hotel was a great decision, no regrets at all! The hotel is easy to find, parking is convenient, and the rooms are clean and warm. The bathroom has a wet/dry separation and a smart mirror. There's a good variety of breakfast options, and a self-service laundry room which is very handy for washing clothes. The front desk staff patiently helped us plan our sightseeing route for the forest park; their service was thoughtful and attentive. The environment is quiet and peaceful. "Although history has repeatedly warned against visiting Arxan during the National Day holiday—due to the fading autumn scenery and overcrowding—city dwellers still flock to the area for an unforgettable experience. This year, Arxan is experiencing unprecedented overcrowding, with rooms in high demand and difficult to find. Even the Hanting Hotel in Yiershi Town, dozens of kilometers from the scenic area, is selling rooms for over 1000 yuan a night, and even then, latecomers can't book. Many tourists, unable to find accommodation, have to make do in bathhouses, property management lobbies, or simply sleep in their cars. There are even rumors that hospital rooms in Arxan are being sold—a truly outrageous claim. Not only is there nowhere to stay, but food is also scarce. All restaurants are packed with long queues, leaving many resorting to instant noodles. Traffic jams at the scenic area are commonplace; at Wusulangzi Lake, traffic jams start at 4 AM and can last for over six hours. You might think that after all that waiting, you'll finally see the beautiful scenery, but the morning mist just won't appear! Isn't that infuriating? You always say that you only have time during the National Day holiday, and you know there's nothing you can do about the crowds, high prices, and poor scenery. But I ask you, since holidays are so precious, why not choose something better? Here's a suggestion: if you can't find accommodation in Arxan and think it's too crowded and expensive, consider Bailang Town to the south. Not only does it offer panoramic views of the Bailang Peak with its vibrant autumn colors, but further south lies the forest waterfall of Aolunbukan. The key is that it's much, much less crowded, and there are decent hotels. For example, the GreenTree Oriental Hotel is located in a valley forest about one kilometer from Bailang Town. There's a small lake right outside, and you can see colorful forests and morning mist when you open your window. The environment is undeniably beautiful, and its biggest advantage is its affordability—a 55-square-meter room with a view is only a little over 300 yuan. I arrived in Arxan quite early, on the 17th. At that time, many tourists had already been misled by unscrupulous tour guides who used the ”early autumn, yellow leaves” rhetoric. In reality, Arxan was still in a state of 70% green and 30% yellow, but it was already very crowded. Accommodation in Arxan city, the scenic area, and Yiershi town was scarce and expensive, so I was forced to choose this hotel in Bailang Town. Surprisingly, it was really good and worth recommending. As shown in the photos, the hotel is next to the Yili factory and a few hundred meters from Bailang Town (about a kilometer by car), making it convenient to find food. Although there aren't many restaurants in town, they are cheap and the food is good, much better than in the scenic area. The hotel has a large parking lot, and the lobby is quite grand, meeting 4-star standards. There's an elevator, and the elevator lobby is very nice. Before I left in the morning, I saw the cleaning staff cleaning, and they were indeed changing the water after each guest. The cleanliness was acceptable, much better than the hotel I stayed in Yiershi Town after returning from the northern route. My room type was a little more expensive than the basic room, but it was much larger, had a better view, and the shower had plenty of hot water, so I didn't have to worry about running out of water halfway through a shower. The room had a desk, sofa, and coffee table, so I no longer had to curl up in bed to review the footage I shot every day. Overall, I was quite satisfied. I booked a room without breakfast, but the hotel actually did provide it. I didn't ask how much it would cost to have breakfast extra. For dinner, if I didn't want to go to town, the hotel also had small hot pot options."

The room was very clean, the facilities were complete, the front desk service was very warm, and we upgraded the room and presented breakfast. The price was super high. "I am a young Englishman on a 20 day solo self-drive road trip across northern Heilongjian and Inner Mongolia. After my stay in Hulun Buir, I decided to drive down to Arxan for 2 nights exploring. I booked this stay based off of the other foreign guests' positive experience. I arrived in the town late in the evening. The boss was waiting for me and was attentive and welcoming from the start. The room is very spacious and comfortable, and the temperature was just right. Everything is provided and replaced when needed. After hiking in the national park, I came back to the boss and his extended family making CNY preparations. Then I was invited to drink Chinese tea (Dian Hong) at their tea table. I was then welcomed to eat with the family, drink beer and eat until I was full. I was welcomed not just as a guest of theirs, but as a family friend. In mid-winter, Aershan/Arxan is a quiet and cold place. I came as part of a long journey taking my rented 4x4 Tank 300 through the snow and ice on routes apart of the Hulun Buir Snow and Ice Festival. My journey was peaceful, solemn and isolated. The hospitality and warm welcome was exactly what I needed after my long drive alone and it is a memory I will take home to the UK with me. I highly recommend this guesthouse, especially if you are travelling solo across this wilderness. Thank you brother. In fact, he solved everything in four words ”sorry”, but he was kind. The guest has a sentence of his n, what is the service, there is no sense of service at all, and it is speechless. The hotel management system needs to be further improved. As an outsider, I also feel that living here is not respected. 😟 It is not enough for the management to do a good job. As a new Chinese-style national style hotel rare in Mengdong, the overall style is elegant and quiet, hidden between the mountains and forests, and the natural scenery of Aershan complements each other. "This is my first stay to write a review because this hotel is really good. The hardware conditions of the homestay are not very amazing. The room is not as big as expected, but the service is really attentive. The owner is very sincere and simple. Said that the room was cold and immediately sent electric heating, breakfast was sent to coffee, the restaurant music was very tasteful, the view of the terrace was also unique, especially when we checked out and couldn't get a taxi to the station, the owner personally drove it, and the trip to Aershan really left a good memory. "Not sure why there aren't many good hotels in Arxan city... While the area has hot springs, very few hotels actually offer bathtubs for soaking. Arxan Hotel is a government guesthouse. I chose a suite because it had a huge bathtub. The suite was very spacious, just a bit old-fashioned in its decor. However, the cleanliness and everything else were perfectly fine. After a day out at Arxan National Forest Park, a night soak in the tub was incredibly relaxing. I think the overall conditions, hygiene, and service here are much more reliable than other local hotels."

"On the third day of the new year, 7 of us came to Aershan to stay at this Haishen Hot Spring Hotel. The front desk staff was very flat and checked in. Although the hotel looked quite big, the facilities inside were old, the official promotional photos were beautified a lot, and the room and bedding were of no quality. Including the public areas, there is a very dark feeling everywhere, things are either bad here or bad there are fixed by ourselves. The hotel is in a good location, just opposite the Holy Spring Square, very close to the train station, and also very close to the hot spring museum. It is very convenient to travel on the main street of Aershan, but there is no service during the Chinese New Year, including the hotel's swimming pool and hot springs. Closed. Fortunately, the water quality of the hotel is particularly good. It is said that it is hot spring water. The faucet is equipped with a filter and said that it can be drunk directly, so the bottled water in the room will not be provided, but we still don't dare to drink it. There is one thing to say, this water is washed, the hair and skin are very smooth. The breakfast category is general, most of them are ordinary local home-cooked food, but fortunately they can be full, that is, the cigarette smells big and the oily smoke smells heavy. But in a small place, it's okay."
