Sentido Trendy Verbena Beach Hotel

We have just returned from a fabulous weeks holiday in this hotel. We checked in at 4am after a delayed flight but were still greeted warmly by reception and shown to our room, shown how to operate the aircon and safe and told where we could grab some food if we wished. Firstly, the hotel is completely spotlessly clean in every single area. Our room was made up daily with the mini bar, loo roll etc all being kept topped up. Room was large, although balcony was tiny. Separate toilet and shower absolutely great. TV in room didn't seem to work, but hey, I didn't go on holiday to watch TV. Safe in room is free and easy to use. Our room faced the back of the hotel and had great views towards the mountains. It was really quiet at night and we didn't get disturbed at all. Pool areas are spotless and constantly being cleaned and litter removed. All restaurants and bars kept clean and tidy at all times. Food was plentiful, with a large variety - something for everyone. Drinks were served in decent sizes and with sturdy plastic glasses provided around the pool, with plenty of cocktails and drinks options to choose from. We did manage to get a sun bed every day in the location we wanted without having to rush and get up early, but I suspect that this is very difficult during the summer and when the hotel is busier. There was no effort made by staff to remove towels which were put down early in the morning with the sunbeds remaining empty all day - very frustrating and needs sorting. Pool towels were provided by the exceptionally friendly spa team on a daily basis. There are no designated smoking areas around the outside areas of the hotel, meaning that sometimes we were inhaling second hand smoke without having a smoke free zone to retreat to. Entertainment was varied - we did see three spectacular shows in the ampitheatre in the evening along with some great live music. Entertainment during the day was a little more pared back with aqua aerobics and darts tournaments appearing to be the main events. Suited us as we were looking for a relaxing holiday. The hotel is in a great location - its easy to access the local shops/markets and you can get into the Old Town of Side by either walking along the beach and promenade (approx 3 miles) or getting a taxi or Dolmus. The old town of Side is definitely worth at least one visit as the harbour and town are beautiful and the old ruins are amazing. Pay the 17 euros to get access to the ruins and the ampitheatre - worth every cent. Head to the promenade and turn right from the hotel and you'll arrive at the Turtle Bridge. Pop there in the morning before 10am with a boiled egg and the turtles and fish will love you! Some of the reviews on here mention that there are a lot of Germans visiting the hotel, which is correct, but I really don't understand why this is an issue. After 40 years of coming to Turkey I love it, what a mistake I made booking this Hotel. Room OK that's it, breakfast is terrible cheap ingredients eggs not cooked properly scrambled egg sat in water, I didn't bother after 2 days, main restaurant once again very basic cheap ingredients not enjoyable to other Hotels food has been amazing, the Baurt Hotels are fantastic, and lots more how this has a 4 star I will never know, its a German hotel there 5per cent English the waiters don't speak English got red wine when asked for white they are rude got told to wait for drinks as a German couple had just walked in sorry not good enough the tables aren't cleared you sat with your soup bowls eating a cake photo shows this, you are over looked one side by a big hotel it's very cramped around pools, the other big hotel is very loud music on a night gives you headache. Reception don't understand English so limited I asked about keeping room on as a late flight 50 euros for 3 hours, you have to have a shower next to baggage room or use spa it's 2024 I felt I had gone back 20 years in Turkey as all other hotels have a nice room or you keep your room till 6 for 50 euros coudent wait to go home.

Dear Trendy Verbena, We stayed at the hotel twice again this year, from June 29 to July 6, 2024, and from July 27 to August 8, 2024. It was our severalth vacation here, and I want to say that if there's any place in the world that feels really great, it's here.Verbena stole my heart and will always be my happy place. I am of the opinion that what makes a place beautiful is the staff who never lose the smile off their face. From the gardeners,to the maids, to the receptionists, to the cooks, to the waiters, everyone is so, so, so amazing. Obviously you don't get the chance to meet everyone on holiday but I would like to highlight these people here, I have been meeting some of them regularly for the last four years and it's great to see the same faces every year. The super holiday started at the moment we were greeted at reception by a smiling Berk Arslan who didn't hesitate to help and accommodate us with anything throughout the holiday, he even helped us secure the same room for our next holiday so room 1201 will always be 'ours' in our thoughts, for which we owe him a huge thank you. Waiters, that's a chapter in itself, great people! I'll start with the hotel restaurant, Ismail Kilinç, Taskin, Eylem and Yunus - who worked together for breakfast outside, they are the right people and they do a great job. Behind them are their super bosses, and this is where we got to know Mehmet Yildiz and Mr. Emre, the bar chef, the most. The team of super chefs is of course behind the delicious food! Sous chef Ismail Demirci, Ozkan Cal and Seyfi Bozkurt who prepared a delicious dinner for us at the a la carte fish restaurant on the beach, thanks Seyfi, it was amazing! These chefs are such smiling and warm hearted people. The beach bar, that's where you meet other amazing people, and that was Mr Kemal, Yusuf Talan and the rest of the staff - they do their job with a smile on their face and a lot of willingness in the terrible heat. The hotel spa, a HAMAM favourite, we return there every year and are always greeted by the smiling faces of all the staff. In conclusion I just want to say one thing and that is thank you, thank you for an amazing holiday, with super service and most importantly, Verbena is made amazing by the people in it, cherish them because amazing people no one wants to lose. The housekeeping in this hotel is 5 star, the cleanliness and attention to detail is perfect. We enjoyed 2 meals in the al a carte dining; mexican and Italian both of which were fantastic. The gala dinner was also a highlight for us with beautifully presented food. The addition of the beach bar and pool bar for snacks and drinks are perfect. I must give a mention to the lady at guest services who has gone out of her way to ensure we have a perfect stay, she accommodated a later check out for us which isn't available until pick up but for those that cant get this you can shower in the spa area and food and drink are available until you leave which I think is important for flights to UK as they tend to be very early. The choice of pools is excellent and again they are immaculately kept. Our experience as first timers in Turkey is one which we will repeat and look forward to coming back again. We visited this hotel In July with our x2 teenagers 17 and 14. The rooms were very clean and the service was excellent. There is plenty of different areas and lounges to sit and have a cocktail. The hotel is about a 15 minute taxi ride away from the old town of side and walking distance to malls and shops. The entertainment team do a great job . Rambo is the best out of the whole group and how’s so far to make you feel welcome. Rambo is a credit to the hotel. We would visit the hotel again- it was great .

Sentido verbena beach Wow wow wow The whole experience exceeded our expectations and believe me we have been to some great hotels and some really awful ones. Veberna beach is up there with the best of them. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you are welcomed and treated wonderfully. The most clean and well kept hotel I have been to. Food was excellent and having a fussy wife and brother in law they were presently surprised of what a great selection of food there was. A couple of constructive criticisms 1, The cocktails could have had crushed ice! 2, our holiday should have been longer in this great hotel. The hotel catered for many different cultures and the English in my opinion were never treated any different. Superb service and customer care. Every worker worked so hard to keep everybodys holiday and dreams alive. The beach was a lovely sandy haven and plenty of sunbeds and parasols to go round. Around the spectacular pools were loads of sunbeds and parasols free up until around 9-10am The entertainment team done extremely well to try and bring everyone together and get involved but never too pushy. If you wanted to take a walk out in the evening there were loads of shops/malls and restaurants close by. We took an evening taxi to side old town which was only around £12 each way. Jacob the TUI rep was very informative and had a very wide knowledge of the area. Would we go back HELL YEAH. 10/10
