"Second time in Fukuoka, and another very satisfying stay!
The hotel's location is excellent, just a seven to eight-minute walk from Hakata Station. There's a Lawson convenience store right by the back entrance, and while there's a tram line nearby, it wasn't noisy and didn't bother me at all.
The room was quite spacious compared to other places I've stayed in Japan, with twin beds and a large desk perfect for piling up snacks from the convenience store. It even had a microwave and a washing machine with a drying function, which was incredibly convenient!
Housekeeping is on demand; you can choose to just have your towels replaced or have towels replaced and trash collected. A full cleaning seems to cost extra.
For breakfast, you get to choose one main dish out of four options, and then there's a self-service selection of smaller items. It's certainly not comparable to the variety you'd find at a five-star hotel, but it was perfectly adequate.
I'm deducting half a star for service because one day the main course was slow to arrive, almost making me late for my plans. Other than that, everything else was excellent!"

"Facilities: Comprehensive amenities, including a smoking room on the L floor, a large public bath, and a laundry room.
Cleanliness: The washing machines in the laundry room were a bit dirty, but the front desk staff helped me wipe them down with wet wipes. Everything else was fine and acceptable.
Service: I initially booked a deluxe twin room, which turned out to be very small. I paid extra at the front desk to upgrade to the tatami room shown in picture 2. However, the front desk attendant still gave me the room shown in picture 1. I had to go back to explain that the room they gave me was incorrect. Only then did they switch me to the tatami room in picture 2. The deluxe twin in picture 1 definitely doesn't feel like 30-37 square meters.
Breakfast is not recommended; there isn't much variety. There's a convenience store right downstairs and a Starbucks, offering more options.
Location is decent, about a 600m walk from the West Exit of Hakata Station."

"The hotel is super convenient to get to, really close to Watanabe-dori. There's a bus stop right downstairs with direct service to PayPay Dome, which is perfect for catching baseball games or concerts. Plus, there's a 24-hour Sunny supermarket nearby. My room faced a construction site, but they don't work at night, so it wasn't an issue. The only noise was the door closing a bit loudly, otherwise, the soundproofing was pretty good."

"The hotel was very clean, and the front desk staff were really friendly. It's super close to the subway station, with a 7-Eleven, Matsumoto Kiyoshi, and Don Quijote nearby. Ichiran Ramen is also very close; I even walked to Tenjin Station in less than half an hour. All in all, it was great. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Fukuoka."

"The location is one stop next to main Hakata station, conveniently located with lawson, familymart and a aeon nearby.
The room is not large, but a good deal comparing to nearby hotel.
However, the cleaning before checking in seems bad because there is 2 lags of trash (left by previous customers), so we immediately emailed the owner. Not a nice experience but they did resolve the problem within the day."

"The location of the hotel was superb! Walkable easily to Canal City mall and many other wonderful cafes and breakfast joints. There are 2 Yatai street stalls that open just across the street from mid week onwards so it was a nice experience to have this meal option just a stones throw away.
Cleanliness is good but I was quite put off on the first day when I checked in to the room to find some clipped nails on the carpet. The rest of the room was very clean so I wished they had done a better job vacuuming. The rest of the room is functional and comfortable, nothing fancy. Mine was a double bed and just note that space wise, you can really fully open only 1 large luggage at a time. It’s a bit of a squeeze for 18m2 if it’s two people.
The hotel facilities itself is simple - the large public bath with an open air section is fantastic. It was a real highlight for the trip."

"I booked two rooms, and while their sizes varied, they were both larger than typical city hotel rooms. I requested a high floor, which wasn't granted, but that's okay. However, the rooms faced the messy buildings behind the hotel, which made for a poor view. There was a lot of dust on the bedside tables, which I hope can be improved. There's a large public bath on the third floor, but I didn't get to experience it because of the long lines to get in when it was busy."

"I stayed here for two nights right after landing in Fukuoka, and even as a solo traveler, the room felt incredibly cramped. I quickly switched hotels on the third day.
The room was tiny and dated, giving off a vibe reminiscent of a guesthouse from the last century. You basically stepped out of the door and were immediately at the bed. My suitcase could only perch precariously on a folding luggage rack.
The cleanliness was mediocre. The bathroom seemed quite clean and looked like it had been thoroughly scrubbed, but the room walls were very dirty with black marks. It wasn't until I opened my suitcase and its wheels rubbed against the wall that I realized where those black marks came from.
Even though it was a non-smoking floor, the air in the room wasn't great. After just one night, my tonsils became inflamed. Those with sensitivities should definitely avoid this place.
Toiletries and bathrobes were self-service in the lobby downstairs. The small packets of toner and lotion were surprisingly good, and the compressed exfoliating mitt was also quite useful. Drinking water wasn't provided, but there was a self-service laundry room.
The hotel's location is pretty good, though. Le Labo is directly across the street, and there are many trendy shops and restaurants nearby. Tenjin shopping district is also within walking distance. It was quite cheap when I booked it, so I won't complain too much. It's suitable for backpackers."

"This was my second stay in four months, and I still love this hotel. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The hotel is in a fantastic location, with direct access to the subway through the basement. There are plenty of shopping malls, shops, and restaurants nearby, making it very convenient for sightseeing, shopping, and dining.
The breakfast spread was excellent with plenty of choices. I also enjoyed the evening welcome treats at the Level 5 garden, including sake, popcorn, chips, and soba. Complimentary coffee is also available during the designated hours.
The hotel also provides a vacuum compression machine, which was very useful for saving luggage space."

I had to stay an extra day in Fukuoka because my flight was cancelled due to a typhoon, so I chose Fukuoka No. 1. Overall, the room environment was great, with a balcony and ample space. The mini-bar was completely free, and the complimentary snacks were delicious. There's a communal bath, and while it's not a natural hot spring, it's still nice for a relaxing soak.
The Lodge area also offered plenty of free self-service drinks and ice cream. The turndown service was a thoughtful touch, even providing a face mask for each person.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious! It was a combination of à la carte mains and a buffet. I highly recommend the unagi don (eel rice bowl) and the steak!
My only criticisms would be that the front desk is quite small and merges with the bar, which can get chaotic when there are many people. I also found the room price to be a bit high; comparatively, the Hotel Miyako Fukuoka offers better value for money.

Room Facilities ~ very good, the room that I booked has a washing machine.
Room amenities ~ not that great. Basic amenities.
Hotel facilities ~ no swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, but with public bath.
Hotel policy ~ very rigid. Standard check in time is 3pm which is understandable. Arrived at 2.30pm asking to check in slightly earlier but was told cannot. Then I asked the standard check out time which is before 10am. I told them I need to catch early flight so not going to stay until 10am. With that, could I proceed to check in at 2.30pm but was told still cannot. Some other hotels that I stayed in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, etc. are very accommodating. Some hotels in Taiwan not allowed check in early but at least they will perform the check in process, only could collect key at 3pm. However this hotel just let the guests wait at the lobby without doing anything. Finally they opened the check in counter at 2.50pm.
Breakfast served at 6.30am. Told them I need to rush to airport early morning, whether I could have my breakfast slightly earlier, or pack some food for me to go airport. Again policy and practice not allowed so. Just too rigid. Not flexible.
Breakfast variety okay, but not very good or excellent
Would I still return next time? No, I would rather try other hotels.
With that, I won't return even though the location is good.

It's very close to Gion Station, and about a 5–7 min walk to Kushida Shrine Station and a local supermarket. Canal City Hakata is roughly 10 minutes away on foot. Overall, the location is quite convenient.
**Service & Amenities:**
Special praise for the reception staff—they were proactive, polite, spoke fluent English, and explained everything clearly. The hotel also provides free amenities, including Sekkisei skincare products and bath salts, which was a lovely touch!
**Room & Cleanliness:**
The room is spacious enough to fully open 2 to 3 suitcases. I especially loved the large, clean bathroom with its separate wet and dry areas. Housekeeping did a great job—just make sure to put your request magnet/card on the door before 10 AM.
**Breakfast:**
The food was decent, featuring salads, bread, omelets, sukiyaki, seafood bowls, French toast, and even free-flow wine. Some items require ordering directly from the chef, which caused a bit of a rush due to the crowds, but the staff tried their best to help. Food refills took a little time, so some patience is needed.

味は普通に美味しかったです。サラダ、パン、オムレツ、すき焼き、海鮮丼、フレンチトーストなどのほか、ワインの飲み放題もありました。一部の料理はシェフに直接注文する形式で、混雑時は少し混乱していましたが、スタッフの皆さんは誠心誠意対応してくれました。料理の補充には少し時間がかかるため、少し待つ必要があります。

Guest UserHotel Dormy has a standard and this Premium location is just slightly higher which is a great budget friendly stay. They offer their standard free ramen, ice cream, yogurt and baths but also offer free soda and coffee. Check-in and out are smooth and easy with kiosk or the staff. The room are typical Japanese style small but they are clean and modern. The location of the hotel is right next to a metro station making it easy to access from the airport or train station. You are walking distance to Yatai's by the water and many tourist destinations as well as easily access all other more distant locations via the metro station outside the hotel door. The public baths are clean and offer an indoor and outdoor section as well as the design is more aesthetic than the typical generic baths of most Dormy's.

Guest UserThis was my first time traveling abroad with my child, and after a lot of comparison, I chose this hotel. On the day of check-in, we took a taxi from Fukuoka Airport to the hotel, which was about a 15-20 minute drive and cost around 80+ RMB.
The hotel is very quiet with good soundproofing, and complimentary drinks are available. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from Hakata Station. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus service in the mornings, running every 30 minutes, which was very convenient for our travel needs. Tenjin shopping district is approximately 1.8 kilometers away, a pleasant 20-minute walk.
The hotel is located at a crossroads, with a 7-Eleven convenience store downstairs. Diagonally opposite is a duty-free supermarket, making it convenient for purchasing daily necessities or cosmetics. There's also a branch of the 'Dajin' barbecue chain downstairs; we ate there two days in a row. The food was decent and incredibly good value for money, haha!

Location of this hotel is excellent! Extremely easy to find - exit from the Chikushi Gate (East) at JR Hakata station and walk about 5 mins to reach the hotel. There is also a bus stop just 100 meters away (1 min walk) that you can take from the airport to reach the hotel, or from the hotel to reach the airport.
Room is clean and decent size. Love the bathroom and the standing shower which has a nice rain shower, handheld shower and jacuzzi style massage shower. There’s also a bathtub for those who like to take baths. Room amenities can be obtained at hotel lobby so there is little waste - just take what you need.
There is also a coffee machine that is free at the lobby. There is a self-service washing machine and dryer at level 3, level 7 and level 11. There is also a Family Mart just infront of the hotel and also a Lawson just around the corner. Great for getting late night light snacks. Overall, an excellent hotel! Highly recommended!

YXJyaoThe hotel itself is as advertised. The lobby is definitely large for a Japanese hotel, and the room size was decent. However, the bathroom had a strange odor, possibly from the pipes, and this was an issue for both nights of our stay. But, to be fair, the overall service standard was excellent. On the second day, I forgot to put out the 'clean my room' sign, but the hotel thoughtfully left fresh towels and water outside our door, showing great respect for privacy, which I really appreciated!

Guest UserI stayed in a single room, so I can't speak for the other room types, but overall I had a very pleasant stay.
The room itself is quite small, so if you're traveling with multiple large suitcases, it may feel cramped. For solo travelers, however, it's perfect for a short stay. The bed was surprisingly large and could comfortably fit two people. There was also enough space to store luggage under the bed, which helped keep the room organized.
One of the highlights was the bathroom. It was spacious, with a separate toilet, shower, bathtub, and sink area, making it very convenient for getting ready. The room was also well-equipped with plenty of power outlets, USB ports, a charging cable, LAN cable, desk, kettle, tea, refrigerator, free Wi-Fi, and a large TV. The TV supports streaming services such as Netflix, so you can log in with your own account and watch during your stay. There were also slippers, pajamas, hangers, and a full-length mirror. Housekeeping was available daily, and extra towels could be requested if needed.
One thing to keep in mind is that there is a city tax that must be paid at check-in. The amount depends on the length of your stay, but in my case it was 200 yen per night. Payment can be made by either credit card or cash, so it's a simple process.
The only downside was the noise. My room faced the train tracks, and the trains were quite loud, especially if you're a light sleeper or like to go to bed early. If you plan to spend a lot of time relaxing in your room, this may be something to consider.
Other than that, I was very satisfied with my stay. The lobby also has vending machines for soft drinks and beer, which was a nice bonus. Overall, I would recommend this hotel, especially for solo travelers looking for a convenient and comfortable place to stay.

Catherine Jane ClaravallStayed at Hotel Oriental Fukuoka Tenjin and it was such a great choice! The location is super convenient—just a 2-minute walk to the subway entrance, making it easy to get around the city. There are also plenty of dining options nearby, with Yoshinoya, Matsuya, and even Shin Shin just around the corner.
Service was consistently good, and the room was very comfortable. I especially loved the pillows and bed—perfect for resting after a long day of exploring. A nice touch was that they provided nightwear, which I didn’t bring, so that was really convenient.
Breakfast had a great spread with lots of options to choose from, making mornings something to look forward to. Overall, a comfortable and hassle-free stay in a prime location!

I stayed for 3 nights. Let's start with the positives, which actually make up most of my experience~
+1. **Convenient Transportation:** This hotel is incredibly well-located, just 1 kilometer from Hakata Station, Fukuoka's largest transportation hub. I walked there every time. From Hakata Station, you can take a bus directly to the international terminal in about 20 minutes. You can also catch trains here to Dazaifu, Yanagawa, Mojiko, and Kokura. It's even closer to Tenjin Station, another major transport hub, at just over 700 meters away.
+2. **Excellent Location:** This area seems to be Nakasu, a lively nightlife district. Many restaurants here stay open until 1-2 AM. There are also numerous 24-hour convenience stores nearby, and their bread is exceptionally good. The famous Nakasu Yatai (food stall) street is just a 5-minute walk away. This area is bustling from morning till night.
+3. **Super Fast Wi-Fi:** The hotel's Wi-Fi was the fastest I've ever used in all my years of traveling. Speed tests easily showed upload and download speeds of 100 Mbps, sometimes even faster. So, no worries about internet access.
Now, for the downsides:
-1. **Small Room & Pricey:** The room was quite small. While a small room isn't necessarily a deal-breaker, this hotel was also very expensive... I paid over 4,000 yen for three nights, which is even pricier than hotels in Tokyo or Osaka. I'm not sure why it was so costly.
-2. **Poor Light Blocking Curtains:** The curtains themselves are fine at blocking light. However, there's significant light leakage around the edges of the curtains. Since the bed is directly under the window, if the morning sun is strong, the light seeping through the edges will definitely wake you up.
So, is it worth staying here? If the price were lower, say around 900 yen per night, I think it would be a very suitable option. After all, the location is incredibly convenient. I hope they redesign the curtains to block light more effectively.
