We recently travelled to Istanbul to spend our holidays together, and we booked a few nights here. We selected the option to pay at property during checking in, but they already charged the money in credit card, which was not expected when we wanted to pay in cash instead.
After checking in, we saw that our room was meticulously arranged and that made us all quite happy.
However, there were some, if not a lot, of things that brought our experience to dismay:
- No heating everywhere. The bathroom was super cold, and showering was a challenge. In fact, there were no radiators inside the bathroom. Our actual room did have a heater, but it could not function at all. We told the staff that the heating doesn’t work, they came in and said that it would work after some time. But when it did not work, we called them again but they gave us thin towels as extra blankets instead of fixing the actual problem.
- Refrigerator did not turn out, and after telling them so, they replaced the current one with a working one from another empty hotel room.
- We suffered the whole night, shivering in the harsh cold temperatures. As a result, all of us got a cold and for me, my asthma worsened.
- We told what happened to the receptionist, and they gave us a new smaller room with a supposedly working heater, but the heater did not work there as well. The new bathroom did not have a lock either.
- Breakfast was awful. Everything was stale. The beans felt like they were made two days ago, and they were cold to the touch.
- Our new room has a kettle without a plug or a switchboard, nor cups for the coffee or tea, as if the kettle was just for show without any proper function.
However, all the staff were trying their very best to help, and they were very polite and friendly. But because of the poor facilities within, our overall experience was pretty awful to say at least.
We do not recommend this place!
