It’s a basic hotel. Close to most things but needs upgrading.

I had booked Grand Mark Hotel for my clients for 2 nights from 9th - 11th Nov I have had previous good experience with the hotel but this time it was pathetic and strangely the hotel refused basic services to my guests. They arrived at 9am at the property, naturally early check-in had to be done for a fee. Not complaining for that. But the issue started as they entered the room. The flush in the toilet was not working and the hotel didn't bother to get that repaired in 3 days, they didn't offer another room to the guest so that they can be comfortable, Even the entire room had only 1 functional light which is very very bad as well. Coming to the breakfast. Turkish hotels generally have a lavish buffet layout. But Grand Mark had a small buffet with literally no cold cuts. Very disappointing. Over and above that, they refused the vegetarian guest an extra bowl of meal for his cereal or the other guest an extra piece of egg. What kind of service is that? If it is a buffet, how can there be a restriction on how much a person wants to eat? A person maynot want toast and want to have a heavy breakfast with milk and cornflakes.. .. I will ensure that I and my other colleagues stop selling this property

This is not a hotel for people vacationing in comfort. On the plus side, there is Wi-Fi (one at the reception, another on the floor), at the reception they understand Russian and the staff is very polite. Breakfast is very meager. Absolutely! The rooms need not only better, but also renovation. The rooms are tiny, but that's not scary. It's scarier to be in the toilet: old tiles, dirty shower, they don't clean the taps at all. I personally washed in slippers...you never know. There was a leak under the shower, when I asked to change the room they said, “They give you a towel for your feet, put it down, we will change it for you every day.” It’s not a fact that if you change the room, the shower won’t leak.” ... the towels are gray, from those times... the sheets sometimes have a hole in them. I won't come to this hotel again.

Good afternoon We rested at the hotel from 04/25/23 - 04/30/23. The location of the hotel is very good, as it is located in the very center of Istanbul. Within walking distance of the main attractions, shops, exchange office, etc. The hotel has a panoramic terrace, where it is very pleasant to have breakfast or just admire the views. We had a small room (no view). The furniture and bathroom are decent. I will note poor sound insulation, but this is not a minus of the hotel, but a feature of the buildings located in this location. In general, this was not very annoying, since we did not sit in the room, but only came to spend the night. The room was cleaned every day, the hotel was clean and smelled nice. Breakfast is ordinary (eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, cheeses, bagels, cereals, tea, coffee, juices), but we were quite full. I would especially like to thank the receptionist for his attention, kindness and help. On the day of departure, the transfer did not come for us and he helped us resolve this issue. As an employee of a travel agency, I can confidently recommend this hotel for its location, cleanliness and hospitality. And whoever comes to find shortcomings will always find them.

The hotel is located in the center of Fatih/Sultanahmed. On a busy street with everything an ordinary tourist needs - bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, supermarkets. When leaving the hotel there is a pharmacy on the left and a hairdresser on the right. The main attractions (the Blue Mosque is closest) are a leisurely 10-15 minute walk. The hotel is not new, but in good condition! At the reception they speak Russian. ar is also located on the 1st floor (lobby). There is a restaurant on the 7th floor and the view of the city definitely gives this hotel an advantage! The view is simply gorgeous! It’s a pleasure to sit at breakfast and see the sunrise and the surroundings of Istanbul from above! ROOMS Normal. I had 503 (5th floor) everything was standard - cleaning every day, the bathroom was clean, the shower was right in the bathroom, above the toilet. In February it is cool (even cold) so there was heating. A window into the interior of the hotel with a view of the wall of other hotels - well, it’s not scary! When we moved in, there was no lighting on the wall above the bed - they screwed in the lamps on the second day - a small thing, but nice, they are improving the place. The rooms were also cleaned as standard! Thanks to the staff! BREAKFASTS Monotonous of course. Standard set: cucumbers, tomatoes, two cheeses, bread, butter, two types of jam, sausage (typical Turkish :)). Coffee and juice from the machine. Overall it was ok - I didn’t leave hungry, and at the same time it was quite filling! I work as a travel agent, I booked for myself - so I understood why and how much I was going to Istanbul! I booked 4 nights, single occupancy for 8,000 rubles (by the way, this is cheaper than on Booking). If you have any questions, ask!

The receptionist just sold us a non-existent excursion (to the Princes' Islands) for $45. The old booklet contains a full description with a tour of the islands with a Russian-speaking guide, with a sandy beach equipped with sun loungers and towels, about 6 attractions and enticing intrigues are described). In fact, there was only a trip on a pleasure boat, filled to the brim with locals with children, a budget lunch on the boat (pilaf/spaghetti), where we were thrown out for 2 hours without guides. And they brought it back. People are taken there to buy souvenirs, visit cafes, and support business. Upon arrival, I contacted the tour operators, it turns out there are no such excursions for a long time! ! ! They sold us a boat trip for 50 liras for 45 dollars as an excursion! ! ! The impudence is off the charts! ! ! There were 8 of us who were blatantly deceived. It looks like the whole boat was riding at our expense. But now we are talking about the Grand Mark Hotel. About the reception. About the employees Sheriff, Sabina. We are making a claim. That's it for now.
