Dara Old City Hotel

Hello to everyone who is in search of hotel I have stayed hear for 3 nights and the staff are very welcoming, kind and helpful they will give you correct information to help in any way possible, the location is very good close to everything you need and visit also there is a mosque opposite the hotel which was perfect for me for morning and evening prayers, the breakfast is also good and fresh and the lady is very nice in the kitchen. As for the room it was clean and tidy and a nice view from the roof top. Overall I am very happy with my stay and would recommend this hotel and a big thank you to all the staff there

Absolutely vile place, staff are rude, rooms smell and are very dirty. Bedding isn’t clean (hairs/stains) fridge smells disgusting. When I raised a complaint, the hotel staff moved me to another filthy room. When I raised a further complaint with the staff again, reiterating that this room too wasn’t clean & I wanted a refund. They refused to provide a refund even though I was staying for 3 nights (and didn’t stay one). And as a result, I ended up booking another hotel for 3 nights (even when escalating via ***********). Questionable management, questionable staff. Seriously questioning the accuracy of the other reviews on this & other sites. - to the hotel staff, please treat your customers better. Save yourself the trouble & book elsewhere.

Avoid This Hotel – Dirty Water, Noisy, and Poor Service I had a terrible stay at this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. First, the water from the sink was dirty, which is completely unacceptable. The room was extremely small and felt cramped. To make things worse, it was very noisy because all the air conditioning units were placed right outside the window. This meant we couldn’t even open the window due to the constant loud noise. The breakfast was disappointing—if you arrive at 9:00 AM, there’s often barely anything left. On top of that, one of the female chefs always looked angry and made us feel uncomfortable. The location is also a major issue. The hotel is down a steep hill, making it very difficult to reach, especially with luggage. It was exhausting to go up and down every time. Overall, this was a terrible experience, and I would never stay here again. Definitely not worth the money!

So this hotel is small hotel, at the bottom of the street ten mins away from the grand bazaar. It’s a monster steep walk uphill to get to the grand bazaar is make sure you have lots of breakfast. Talking of breakfast, it’s basic, very basic and you will need to pay extra if you want coffee from the machine. If you want hot food, make sure you get to the breakfast early. You can always pay extra and have them cook you something extra but the included free breakfast is very very average. The rooms itself. Well. The room I was given had an adjoining door for another room. Surely rooms like this should be for families. Luckily the key was on my side. The room was small but ok. Nice bed. Bathroom was big and adequate (although my mates room wasn’t). I could sit on the toilet and stretch my legs. But my mate, well if he stretched his legs, he would end up in the shower. The walls are very thin and setup is weird. My window in the bathroom had air con units outside it. 1st night in the hotel was fine as there was no one staying in the room next door. But after that, it went downhill. The neighbours were noisy and you could hear everything. Housekeeping would turn up very early. The restaurant served nice food (top floor same place as your breakfast), but a little on the expensive side, when further up the road you can get the same for less than half price. Cheap and cheerful stay. Just bring earplugs and be prepared to walk uphill to get anywhere!

My friends and I had a lovely stay at the Dara Old City Hotel. The staff were so welcoming, made us feel right at home and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is in a fantastic location, perfect for sightseeing as the Hippodrome is just a 10 minute walk away. The rooms were clean and comfortable with good showers, air con and complementary water. There a rooftop bar and restaurant which is the perfect place to unwind and watch the sunset after a busy day sightseeing.
