DD1591****The last stop of our十一 Golden Week trip to Shandong, we booked two nights, and overall it was decent. We would choose it again.
1. Excellent location, right opposite Quancheng Square, and within walking distance to top attractions like Baotu Spring.
2. There's a construction site across the street on one side of the hotel; if you need quiet, you can mention it in advance.
3. The breakfast was rich and featured local specialties. Perhaps because it was crowded, staff were constantly clearing tables, which was a bit disruptive and could be improved.
4. The bathroom ventilation wasn't great, and there was no fixed showerhead. I hope they install a fixed overhead shower.

According to Trip.com’s grading system, The Madison Hotel is listed as a Trip Plus 4-star hotel, but based on our recent stay, we believe it falls short of that rating. While we had a mostly pleasant experience, there were noticeable issues that prevent us from agreeing with the 4-star classification.
The Positives
- Check-in & Staff: The reception team was friendly, and one staff member could communicate a little in English, which was helpful.
- Room Comfort: Our room was spacious and nicely decorated, with a very comfortable bed. The air conditioning worked well and allowed individual adjustment.
- Amenities: We appreciated the complimentary bottled waters and two soft drinks restocked daily in the fridge.
- Location: The hotel is conveniently located inside Wanda Mall, making shopping and dining easily accessible.
The Negatives (Why It’s Not 4-Star)
- Cleanliness Issues: The room wasn’t cleaned to a 4-star (or even 3-star) standard. We found nail clippings on the bedside mat, indicating poor vacuuming.
- Shower Water Pressure: The water pressure in the shower was quite low, which was inconvenient.
- Breakfast Limitations: While the Asian food options were good, there were very few Western choices. Additionally, the Western cutlery felt sticky and wasn’t properly cleaned.
- Staff Sleeping at Reception: On our second morning, when we tried to check out early, the reception staff were asleep on the couches. We understand they may have been exhausted, but this is unprofessional for a 4-star hotel.
Final Verdict
The Madison Hotel is a decent option, but we’d rate it as a solid 3-star hotel, not 4-star. If you prioritize location and comfort over luxury service and cleanliness, it’s a reasonable choice. However, management should address housekeeping and staff training to meet higher standards.
Would we stay again? Possibly, but with adjusted expectations.

GGuest UserHad such a comfortable stay at this hotel! The service was incredibly warm and attentive; any request was met with immediate assistance. The amenities were comprehensive – charging outlets and a hairdryer were readily available and very convenient to use. The room was spotlessly clean: the sheets and pillowcases were pristine, and the desk surfaces gleamed. Breakfast was hot and hearty, featuring soy milk, steamed meat buns, and boiled eggs. The late-night congee service was a particularly thoughtful touch. The environment was also very quiet; there was no noise at night, ensuring a wonderful night's sleep. I'll definitely choose this hotel again!

GGuest UserEnvironment: It takes less than 5 minutes to get to the Laotun subway station, which is very convenient.
Hygiene: The room is spacious, clean and tidy, and you can see that it is cleaned frequently.
I soaked in the bathtub after a tiring day, which was very comfortable 😌, and I felt that every pore was taken care of.
Service: I checked in at almost 11 o'clock in the evening. The waiter was very friendly and not impatient at all.
When I entered the room, I saw the prepared snacks. People who like to eat midnight snacks said it was very heartwarming 🥰
Facilities: The do not disturb function in the room is really great. I can sleep until the sun rises the next day. It's really great.
Once the curtains are drawn, no one loves them. The airtightness is great.
When I left, the souvenirs I was given included masks. Tears welled up in my eyes🥹. I didn't expect there would be so many catkins in Jinan when I came here, so I didn't prepare them. I didn't expect the hotel to be so considerate and prepare them. When I arrived near Baotu Spring, there were as many catkins as the wind. Thanks to the hotel for providing them😷🥳
I will come to this hotel again next time I come to Jinan. The bed is very comfortable and everything is great. I don't want to leave😋

I used to travel to Jinan frequently for business a few years ago and always stayed here. Due to a job change, I haven't been to Jinan as much recently, and after several years, I stayed here again. The room facilities are a bit outdated, but everything else is great. The breakfast is still consistently high quality.

GGuest UserThe hotel is at the back of the train station. You have to go around to take the train. I wanted to book the Railway Hotel, but it was full that day, so I booked this hotel instead. It looks like a big hotel from a distance. There are 4 counters in the lobby, two of which are hotels, and the other two are unknown companies. The front desk lady was very good and upgraded me. I wonder if it was from the 12th floor to the 17th floor? The room is a bit small, and some furniture cannot be put together, which makes it difficult to use. It would be better to remove the slats on the cabinets. When I turned off the TV and planned to go to bed at night, I noticed that the train noise was quite loud. The breakfast was good, with both Chinese and Western food, but it was a bit salty. They insisted on the traditional characteristics of Shandong cuisine and were unwilling to change.
