1. Not picking up the phone
2. Not apologetic about it, I called all day for two days straight before the booking. It was so unsettling I wanted to book the shuttle service and enquire where to get it when I land in jhb. But there was no information provided on trip.com and when I called the number they left online to call to find out. No one was picking up
3. I arrived at the hotel asked about this and complained but they were so nonchalant about it as they clearly did pick up other calls. And miraculously they start picking up when I was testing if that number even works. They said they currently going through something with the landlines they had. But why not have an alternative number or an email address for these instances because they already know the problem with their land line.
4. The lady at the front desk was even aware that it’s a booking platform problem because apparently other platforms provide all the information for shuttle service and a shuttle service number.
5. Next thing they charged the person I was with just because they sleeping over. I felt scammed because I had already paid for the room. What does it matter if I only put in my details when the room is sufficient for two people (as it has two single beds put together to make one bed). Anyways we paid the extra R150 even though we knew it was just 💩 . The guy at the reception continued to ask us questions about what time we’ll check out? What time will we eat breakfast as our room offers this. I told them I have an early flight so I need to eat early and leave with the shuttle at 7am. So they suggested I eat breakfast at 06:30 am.
6. They further asked any food allergies or food we can’t eat. We told them we BOTH don’t eat pork.
7. Following morning I head over to the kitchen for breakfast at 06:30 as agreed. The staff seems shocked and unaware of my order and that I needed to eat early. They simply told me they start at 7am to serve breakfast.
8. So I asked them then why did reception suggest I eat at 06:30 yesterday, asked me about the time wrote it down and confirmed my sister’s time as well. Because we were checking out at different times. Why do all this admin when it didn’t really even matter.
9. So after the ladies at the kitchen go back and forth asking about my order. They finally decide to make me a plate.
10. I decided to bring my bags downstairs from my room because the driver is already waiting for me. And I don’t want to miss my flight waiting for a breakfast they failed to prepare in time according to what we agreed on the day before.
11. I went down finally received the food but couldn’t finish it as I was served at 06:50. The driver then rushed me and I left for the airport. I didn’t even finish eating.
12. Later my sister tells me that when she arrived for breakfast they served her PORK. When we specifically said we DON’T eat pork when they asked the day before.
13. Honestly worst treatment ever, what a scam, service in this hotel sucks and the amenities are not great either. Honestly I think the only way they surviving is because the BnB is cheaper and closer to the airport.
14. My sister and I will never book here again, and I definitely won’t be recommending it to friends that asked me about it a few days ago. I’d rather pay more for better service and a cleaner place and safe accommodating atmosphere.
