Porto Bello Royal

This was the 6th year in a row that we have had our 2 week holiday at the Portobello Royal, as it is just such a fantastic place to go for a holiday. We cannot write enough positives for holidaying here. The hotel and rooms are beautiful and wonderfully clean, with pools around every group of rooms. The food is varied in the main buffet restaurant and the Mediterranean and Greek restaurant perfect for lunch every day, as right by the beach. There is good entertainment also in the evenings if you want to take part, or just relax and have a drink and take it all in. What we cannot praise highly enough are the wonderful staff at Portobello Royal, many of whom are still there each year, and remember us with such warmth and welcome us back. All of the staff are amazing and all deserve special thanks, however we must thank Anna in the Mediterranean restaurant who has gone over and above for us in the 6 years we have been holidaying her. We have celebrated 4 of our wedding anniversaries here and Anna has mad them all very special for us going the extra mile and spoiling us. It is obvious to see how much everyone loves Anna! Ripon and the other Anna in the restaurant too, always looked after us well. Karina and Fred in the beach bar are a legend and once met, are never forgotten - we love you!!! This year we met Aphroditi and her daughter in the snack bar, who were full of fun. As other people have commented the concierges (Gregor - hope this is spelt correctly!) and the bar staff are great. Our lady who cleaned our room was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. A special thanks must also go to Stelios the Guest Relations Manger, who sorted out an issue for us when we first arrived, which was tricky for him, we know (nothing to do with the hotel). Stelios handled this with tact, diplomacy and kindness, which we are truly grateful for, he also made our wedding annniversay memorable this year, with a special meal in the Italian restaurant. This was our 4th visit to this hotel as it ticks all the boxes for our holiday requirements. Relaxing but not boring. From it's private beach with stunning views and it's all inclusive bar with lovely Karina and Fred. Also on the beach is the all inclusive Greek restaurant with the hard working Ripon waiting on you with open arms. The entertainment team of Achim and Leah will let you choose if you want to play Bowls, darts, beach volleyball ,water polo, bingo, and all the usual shows , with evening shows with music and dancing with the great Dimos and daughter Maria and the Three Tenor show of Il Divo are excellent. The food is excellent with a variety of European, Greek, Spanish, Mexican, Italian and has it's own burger Restaurant. All the staff are so welcoming and hard working and I'm sure everyone has their favourites. The bar staff of Eni, Juliano and Lisa will serve and wait on whatever drinks you like with a friendly smile. The rooms are lovely each with their own pool areas and the hotel kindly upgraded our stay to a Loft room laid on with flowers and bubbly . I'd like to thank the managers and reception staff of Dimitra and Lenka, Stelios, and Kosta for making our stay perfect always with a smile

Just back from a weeks stay and can honestly say that all my reservations have gone! Location is spot on, views incredible, food was fine, if it a bit repetitive at times. Whilst plenty of room around the pool, only slight drawback was the amount of people in the dining room for evening meal. Looking forward to a return visit.

The hotel is beautiful! It has as many as 15 pools and its own beach with sun loungers. In the all-inclusive version branded spirits. Very good food, nothing was missing. Great and smiling staff, always helpful. I love the animators and games with them. We had a great time!

Slightly feeling ripped off.. So the hotel is beautiful, huge and lots of amenities but ..we arrived last night, staff were lovely and Friendly we had booked a deluxe sea view room but found woke up to a million ants 🐜 crawling everywhere and the shower faulty Requested a room change and was offered a swim up room but we had to pay £300 ! It's left me feeling a little short changed and disappointed but the new room is lush ! On the plus side, the rooms are spacious Food is great quality and the staff friendly Just beware of room charges!

Beautiful hotel built into a sloping hillside which gives amazing views to the islands throughout the hotel & from a large percentage of the rooms. It's an interesting architectural design that utilises blocks of 2 storey apartments interspersed with 13 swimming pools. A large number of apartments have swim up pools. Even when busy the individual pools had a quiet atmosphere. The Mediterranean Restaurant & Italian Restaurant were pleasant changes from the main restaurant & other restaurants. The pool bar which was in an elevated position with views was a great place to drink. The room we were allocated had a lovely direct view to the islands. The interior had been recently renovated with a very stylish bathroom which had unusual taupe coloured tiles and a matching quartz bathroom counter.
