Hotel Experience: Beautiful but Full of Hassles – Unfortunately, Only 2 Stars
At first, I intended to give this hotel 5 stars because the room was clean, the view was beautiful, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. However, the following experiences made me reconsider and lower the rating to 2 stars.
1. Unpleasant experience at the pool
On both days of our stay, we were disturbed by the security guard when we went to the pool. He claimed our swimwear was “inappropriate,” even though it was normal swimwear. On the second day, he even asked my girlfriend to remove her outer tank top in order to stay at the pool. When I asked for just 15 more minutes to swim, since we were leaving Kuala Lumpur the next day, he only allowed 5 minutes and threatened to call the manager. This kind of treatment made us feel disrespected — which is why I deducted 1 star.
2. Trash disposal issue and late-night disturbance
We left a bag of trash outside the room — something we saw other guests do — expecting housekeeping to take care of it. However, at around 10:00 PM, someone started knocking aggressively on our door. The knocking got louder and more intense, making us feel scared as if someone was trying to break in. When I finally opened the door, it was a security guard asking if the trash was ours. I said yes, and he insisted I follow him to another room to dispose of it myself. Even when I offered to take the trash back into the room and deal with it in the morning, he refused. So I had to follow him outside to throw it away — and by then it was already 10:25 PM. We were exhausted and needed rest for an early flight the next day. He later explained that his poor English made it hard to communicate — but that doesn’t justify disturbing guests so late at night.
3. Poor customer service from the front desk
What disappointed us the most was how poorly the front desk handled the situation. When the aggressive knocking happened, I tried calling them — no one picked up. I sent a message saying we were scared because the banging was getting louder, but they just replied things like “we’ll send someone up” and asked us to record a video and send it to security — while we were still in fear. Even after more than 10 minutes, there was no concrete action from their side. This lack of support was unacceptable and led me to deduct 2 more stars.
In summary:
• Pros: Clean room, nice view, front desk helped us keep a pair of glasses we accidentally left behind.
• Cons: Inappropriate behavior from the security guard, poor response from the front desk, and disturbing guests late at night.
I hope the hotel seriously considers this feedback and improves their service. This is a genuine experience from our stay, and I hope readers take it into consideration before booking.
