The sheets of the tatami bed were not very clean, with a lot of black hair, probably because some black clothes were mixed in when washing in the large bath laundry room.
The dinners ordered by domestic travel agents are all buffets, but the dinners ordered through overseas official websites are kaiseki cuisine, so if you want to experience kaiseki, you should order it on the official website yourself.
The buffet breakfast and dinner are quite rich, and you will definitely have no problem eating enough.
The hot spring is open from 2 o'clock every day to 10 o'clock the next day, and there are basically no people. The hot spring in the open-air bath is a rare cotton-no-yu in Gunma, which is very nourishing to the skin.

We stayed 1 night at Kusatsu Onsen hotel village. It's indeed a resort which offers many activities (table tennis, bowling, game arcade etc.) and a separate spa center with swimming pool and sauna. We didn't bother to step out the hotel until we had to leave Kusatsu.
The dinner and breakfast buffet were delicious too.
There is shampoo and bathing tools for babies in the ladies bath. I believe it's suitable for family with young children.

Excellent
LLiang CheakWe love this place as it is convenient locate right beside the town. Good for walking around and shopping. The food in the hotel is good. Not to flexible for frens birthday for cakes during dinner. But the food is good. Excellent selections and types
Oh the Onsen is very good
KKidddThe hot spring hotel is very close to Yubatake. The Yubatake is beautiful at night. The hotel's Keishi cuisine is delicious and well presented. There is also a QR code for breakfast and dinner to let you scan and explain what each dish is. They are very attentive. The hot springs are also very comfortable. They are switched between morning and evening, so you can soak in the hot springs on both sides. The waiters were very nice and provided warm hospitality. I will definitely stay here again next time I have the opportunity.
SSinPros:
1. The room was incredibly spacious, with 4 beds even though we were only a party of 3. The mountain view from the room was fantastic!
2. Overall cleanliness was good.
3. Excellent location near Yubatake, where local shops and dining options are plentiful.
4. The private onsen was amazing, with a convenient button to refill hot water into the tub.
5. Special afternoon and evening times offered free food at the lounges, including ice cream, turnip soup, sausages, noodles, and special amenities like complimentary interdental brushes and facial masks.
6. Hotel staff provided excellent and efficient service.
7. Dinner was a delightful 7-course meal, with each evening featuring a different menu.
8. Breakfast was quite good with a decent variety.
9. The complimentary parking area was spacious with plenty of spots, located right next to the hotel entrance.
Cons:
1. There isn't much to criticise about the place. Perhaps the breakfast spread could vary slightly each day.
NNMVOur overnight stay at this hotel in Kusatsu was simply the best we've experienced in Japan. We arrived a bit early and we were allowed to check in before 3 as there was a room available. The service was excellent, and the room was spacious, complete with all the amenities we needed. Although the shower was located downstairs in the private onsen, it was never crowded, and I had the onsen all to myself. The hotel also provided us with yukatas, adding a lovely traditional touch to our stay.
Breakfast was served in our room in the morning, and the staff graciously accommodated our request to change the breakfast time, as we wanted to visit an onsen that opened at 9 AM. The hotel was impeccably clean, and we slept like babies that night.
I would love to stay here again on our next visit to Kusatsu. とても良い所でした、有難う 😊❤️
Mmeowwxxfood is amazing so as the onsen, we went all the way out to try all the different onsen waters in a night. attentive staffs who greet whenever they see us. one thing might be the private onsens rooms are a bit dirty & not looked after since they only clean once every day I think.
GGuest UserIt was close to the bus terminal and the Yubatake, so I was able to take walks there and there. The room was spacious, but it was old, so I could hear footsteps and other sounds quite often, which was quite a shock. Only four people could use the bath at a time. The staff were very friendly.
HhkpAlbertHotel service desk polite and friendly, other rooms restaurant employees are also polite, proactive assistance, buffet breakfast food is okay, dinner buffet is to add more food to breakfast, dinner $4950 Yen a meal We can have limited time to enjoy the hot springs on the mountain, there is a car shuttle, the walk from the hotel to the bus terminal is about 15 minutes, quite slope up and down, the hotel is very lively and has a convenience store This is an advantage!
GGuest UserJapanese style accommodation, dinner and breakfast buffet are great, the hotel's hot spring is also good, but I recommend going to the three major hot springs in the town. The hotel service is very good, you can send luggage, call to ask for toothbrush and toothpaste and it will be delivered quickly.
JJoycewee0206Given that the hotel is abit old, the 3 star cleanliness is referring to the old facility at guy side onsen. It’s not maintain well and everything looks old. It’s 10mins walking distance to bus terminal and another 5-6mins to yubatake. Bonus point gives to free shuffle from/to daitokon with the very precise bus schedules.
Room is clean but bear in mind, it’s not non-smoking hotel so might have chance to smell cigarette smell in room. Fortunately, our room is good.
Overall we satisfy with our stay at kusatsu onsen resort.
TTeekhooTook JR express to Kusatsu. From train terminal take a 25 mins bus to Kusatsu bus terminal. There is a shuttle to bus terminal upon request. Take less than 3 mins to reach bus terminal. If walk, then you may take longer times.
I booked half boards. Dinner included. The dinner is super good. Free flow of rice, soup n side condiment. Breakfast was Okies. Takeaway coffee cups prepare for you.
I specially love the onsen. Robe n slippers had prepared in room for your usage.
