If I had to choose a word to describe this place—and only one—I'd called it enchanting. But don't worry, I'm going to write a little bit more. Stepping into Shimai is like going into a magical garden. Yes, it's beautiful. It's designed well. The place is full of great art! But yet, there is something special about stepping into Shimai. It's more than an experience. It's an emotion. Shimai means ”sisters” in Japanese. And this place is steeped with love. Go there to make memories, propose, tell stories or even make babies. The magic will follow you. There's an warmth that permeates the chalet, making it easy to settle in and relax. The design is a perfect balance between comfort and creativity, ensuring that every space, whether it's a reading nook or a communal area for games and entertainment, feels inviting and enjoyable. Speaking of entertainment, Shimai Chalet has plenty to offer. Whether you're in for some friendly competition on the pool table, a nostalgic trip down memory lane with the Pacman machine, or a movie night with the high-quality TV and Bose soundbar, it's all there. The thoughtful selection of books, toys, games, and drawing materials adds a playful touch, encouraging guests to unwind, have fun, and let their creativity flow. Go lah. You'll leave with memories and stories. For life. Danesh & Sharolyn Daryanani

Stayed here with a group of 5 friends, and it was lovely. New and modern rooms, all the appliances you’d need (dishwasher, washer, dryer, etc), and great location. Lots of restaurants within walking distance, there’s a small lift 2 min walk away and a run that ends there so almost a ski in/ski out. The main lift is about a 10 min walk up if you want to catch first lift. Also so helpful to have a front desk concierge in the building to help make restaurant reservations and let us into our rooms when we forgot our key. Thank you Arthur for all your help!! Total lifesaver. Only downside was that the wifi was spotty at times.

We were actually the first guests in the hotel... and we were given flowers The service is really good! It's right in front of the family cable car, so convenient. The room is also very comfortable. This time I stayed in two rooms with complete facilities. You can watch Netflix directly on the TV, and there is a private bath in the room. After skiing, soak in the snow and resurrect with full blood.

Stayed for a week with family. Half our group skied; half did not (the older ones). Not often the case a property can cater to both groups. The skiers were ferried up to wherever they wanted to start on the mountain, and picked up as well when they finished skiing. The non skiers enjoyed the under 5 minute walk to the Vale/Shiki/Ezo/Lawsons etc as well as just staying home in the very cozy flat. Right across was Shiki which has Green Farm cafe for breakfast, a great deli plus gourmet restaurants Kamimura and Kitchen. The rooms were also really quiet- couldn't hear traffic, snow clearing or teenagers dressing up in snow gear! The property had a driver and car available to bring some us to the next towns (more food adventuring and food shopping) and any further restaurants we wanted to try (walking in the cold and snow was a bit much for some members of the group). One minor issue was that while the ski room was really convenient, the actual storage capacity of the ski lockers felt really cramped given the number in our party. Minor issue though, we'll definitely be back.

Even if the decoration is very modern, most of them are Europeans and Americans, the rooms are spacious and beautiful, and the appliances are complete. The kitchen appliances are all miele, please. There is a place for renting skis and clothing in the lobby of the hotel. You can go to the Hirafu Ski Resort directly by renting the elevator. A full set of equipment costs about 15,000 yen a day, according to Xiaohongshu, it is cheaper than snow. Most of the waiters are European and American, English is very good. The hotel has cars to Kutchan JR Station and lucky supermarket. It is very convenient for the family to cook. like
